ABOUT ME I was born in Athens, Greece in 1994. After graduating high school I continued my studies in the University of Thessaly, at the Department of Architecture in the city of Volos.

At the beginning of my studies I took a big break so I could travel and decide how to reach my dreams and goals. I would never have anticipated that this process would lead me to interpret all the things I would see in an architectural and artistic way.

This whole process made me realize that if I want to pursue a career in the creative sector, I would have to implement my way of life in my designs.

Here presented, you will find a variety of my academic work, in which I express the way I feel about architecture and the way I interpret the existing forms and archetypes of architecture.

Faculty Housing Housing problem

The project is concerned with the exploitation of the empty existing “dom-ino” in the city of Volos to create the new student residency for the University of Thessaly.

After targeting the specific places that our proposals would take place and discovering the existing restrictions of each individual building, I constructed a proposal that handles the relationship between public and private space.

The proposal re-examines an ordinary dwelling in the usual form of an apartment, by rethinking the connections between the procedures that take place inside a bedroom.

The transition from one public space to another is achieved by placing the corridor inside the bedroom and thus decoding and redefining the meaning that exists inside the realition of private-transition and public space, as a space of exposure.

At the same time the design process that is applied to the typical floor plan is transfered to the ground floor where is proposed to connect the buildings with the city by making the ground floor into a passageway embeded with a different program everytime.

Last but not least, in the roof plan the moving panels in the middle present the oppurtunity to interpret the space as a whole, but at the same time the users can move them achieving the wanted level of privacy.

Platform Dock Tourism

The architectural proposal redefines the “amphibious� infrastructure of a harbor, the pier.

The objective is to combine the need for activities and adequate spaces with the existing infrastructure.

The need for an overnight stay, before or after, arriving on the island of Amorgos is served by the pier of Aegiali itself.

The pier breakwater transforms into a one-day overnight center, waiting area, observatory, restaurant and information center.

Urban Farm Housing Alternative urban living

The modern city has taken many leaps forward the way of life for the modern citizens, but in this process many gaps and problems have occurred.

The proposal, by analyzing the farm houses near the city of Volos, tries to connect the modern way of living in the city with the rural one. Where it is easy to cultivate and be in touch with the nature.

More and more people from the urban environment are concerned about the quality of food that they consume and the only way around this problem is to introduce the Urban Farm Housing (UFHO) into the cities.

The firm and double height (5m) steel frame allows space and light to penetrate the building in order to make cultivation possible.

Places like empty and abandoned courtyards, parking spaces and plazas could be occupied by this structure and introduce this new way of living.

The habitation units are small but efficient with the opportunity of expansion and doubling their size.

Moreover, the steel frame could be disassembled, the habitation units loaded to a truck and altogether moved to a different, more suited location for the project to flourish.

The typical Greek urban block has been shaped and changed through the years by many laws. The results of this constant transformation are left to us to critisize them and to propose new ways of living inside them.

The economic crisis in Greece has left most of the small businesses and shops to economic poverty and so the majority of them has closed.

The ground floor of an urban block used to be full of these small shops but now what is left is a series of closed ugly looking glass windows.

The proposal sees this abandonment as an opportunity to transmute these spaces into spaces for leisure activities for young people and give an opportunity to the public space of the city to be more extrovert.

THE VALLEY Project type: Purpose:

Social Housing Development Area

Athens used to be a city with three rivers. Nowadays the only river that can be seen is the delta of river Ilissos in which the project is taking place.

By opening the space next to the river and making a big slope, which at the same time is the park, the proposal tries to merge the city with the water.

Above the big slope there are bridges that connect the two sides of the city over the park. The Social Housing over the bridges symbolizes that in order to bring something down you have to levitate.
