VEGETATION The topography and terrain of the Canyons Ranch provide excellent habitat and cover for wildlife. Shallow, rocky soils cover most of the ranch, with deeper, loamy soils in the bottomlands.

The growing season generally begins in the middle of May and ends towards the end of September.
