2025

Let’s Go Forwardian Together
Greetings and Salutations to All Lovers of the Arts
We hope our words find you well What a month May was for the arts Many of us were bombarded by a number of firsts throughout the past weeks Some of these “firsts” were entirely new events, and we hope they mark the beginning of many more Others were simply the season openings of long-running events In either case, it was great to explore these and many other events with a new or renewed enthusiasm
This renewed enthusiasm has inspired us in our endeavors to express our love for the arts. We are getting closer to the initial stages of putting together our Summer Art Exhibition and a panel discussion that would include several art groups. We are also updating the information on our website and Facebook pages and groups. We have often noticed how frustrating it is to visit a website in 2025 and find that it hasn't been updated since 2005 We share this concern with other art-related organizations in our Forwardian Consortium Facebook Group, so we believe it’s time we practice what we preach Therefore, it's a priority for us to keep our online presence current and engaging
We have made changes to our newsletter, including a summary of posts from our Facebook Groups. Currently, there are only a few updates, but we plan to provide more information about each group's activities every month. We are also exploring ways to better explain our fellowship and encourage participation in our endeavors. This also involves improving the benefits of membership in The Forwardian Arts Society We want to gather your ideas on what you'd like from your membership We will also be reaching out to others for their input
Well, that’s enough for this issue of The Forwardian Gazette We thank you for your desire to receive our newsletter If you haven’t done so already, please check out our website at www forwardianarts org to learn more about The Forwardian Arts Society. We look forward to sending you our next issue of The Forwardian Gazette newsletter for July. As always, we’ll keep a good thought for you until then.
Your Pal, Paul

Landscapes at the Dutot

The Antoine Dutot Museum and Gallery in Delaware Water Gap, PA began their 2025 season on Friday May 23rd with an Artist’s Reception for their Landscapes Exhibition featuring the work of Jean Benfante A good number of people attended the reception and the joy of returning to the gallery after its off-season hiatus was enhanced by the wondrous beauty of the art on display. The conversations that ensued throughout the evening reflected this to a delightful degree.
The exhibition was divided into two sections The gallery’s front room, titled “Below,” featured images made with oil crayon on paper In contrast, the back room, titled “Above,” showcased images created with acrylic on canvas. These titles reflect the source of inspiration and the mystery of its origins. Exploring the images revealed a flow between “Above” and “Below,” emerging and submerging in a cyclical pattern
The exhibition proved to be a wonderful way to begin another season of the gallery’s offerings to the many art lovers who visit it. The shows that are planned for the remainder of the season are eagerly anticipated by those who were in attendance of the current exhibition and it sets an expectation for the quality and depth of what is yet to come And, many are certain it will be
