How does it feel to win?

“We’re continuously overwhelmed with the support that the Fargo-Moorhead community gives us and all the local breweries. We just can’t thank everyone enough,” President and Co-founder Mark Bjornstad said.

What do you think made your business stand out and win the Best Brewery category?

“I think what’s great about the craft beer scene as a whole is that we’re all building something together that adds to an amazing craft beer scene. We have the way we like to do things and what we’re doing, and we love seeing everybody else put together their own brand and feel,” he said.

What’s new for Drekker these days?

“We’re always coming out with new beers all the time, and we’re under construction for our new Brewhalla entertainment wonderland next door, so we’re anxiously awaiting that building to get done and to show that to everyone in the community,” Bjornstad said.

What makes a JL Beers burger better than the rest?

“Our fresh hamburger is hand-pattied and made to order,” Co-owner Lance Thorson said. “It’s topped off with our own seasonings and sauces, as well as additional fresh ingredients. Lastly, it’s all happily nestled in our pillow-soft bun.”

What menu item do you think more of us should try?

“Our Humpty Dumpty Burger® has been a staple since the day we opened, but if you’ve never experienced one, now is the time,” Thorson said. “It’s a simple-but-delicious burger with a fried egg and cheese on it. I recommend adding our fresh ground peanut butter or bacon to it too.” honorable mentions

What is your most popular dish?

“I think people love our cream cheese wontons, General Tso chicken and sweet and sour chicken most,” Manager Shuo Zhang said.

Why do your regular customers keep coming back?

“I think it is because we are always trying to provide better food and better service,” Zhang said. “Everything in our restaurant is made with love and pride. The customers know me, and I know them. We have a warm atmosphere; it feels like meeting some old friends. You know the food is good, the people are warm.”

What menu item would you like more people to try?

“We have a really big menu, and everything on the chef’s special is good to try,” Zhang said. “For myself, I really like some spicy food, like spicy beef with cilantro or Hunan pork.” honorable mentions
