MISSION STATEMENT The Fort Worth Art Dealers Association (FWADA) is a dynamic network of over 40 independent dealers, non-profits, museums, university galleries, and businesses. Founded in the early 1980s through a collective effort to expand Gallery Night—a local tradition established in 1978—FWADA has grown into a cornerstone of the city’s cultural infrastructure. What began as a shared initiative to support a single event has evolved into an enduring organization dedicated to advancing Fort Worth’s artistic landscape. Today, FWADA connects local talent with broader national and
international perspectives, presenting a diverse spectrum of artists across disciplines and geographies. Through collaborative programming, exhibitions, and advocacy, the organization fosters meaningful community engagement and sustained support for the arts. Rooted in Fort Worth’s distinct cultural identity, FWADA is committed to making the arts accessible to all. Through its signature biannual Gallery Nights and year-round initiatives, the association champions a wide range of artistic voices and mediums—strengthening the city’s reputation for integrity, inclusivity, and artistic excellence.

Throughout our careers, we learned to find the story even in the most unexpected moments—to observe, listen, and recognize when an ordinary moment becomes something meaningful. Every interview, every assignment, every photograph, and every word tells a story that deserves to be shared. Through written narratives and photographic images, this exhibition documents the people, places, struggles, celebrations, and defining moments that shape our communities. The Right Moments invites viewers to look beyond each image and consider the voices, emotions, and circumstances surrounding it. Together, these works serve as a visual and journalistic archive, reminding us that history is constantly unfolding around us—and that capturing it requires being present for the right moments. Amor & Psyche, Jay Wilkinson
111 Hampton St., Fort Worth, TX 76102 817.692.3228 | www.artspace111.com @artspace111 GALLERY NIGHT HOURS: 12–9 Regular Hours: Tues.-Fri. 11-5, Sat. 11-2 Crosscurrents: Daniel Blagg and Jay Wikinson Though their work occupies distinct visual territories, Daniel Blagg and Jay Wilkinson share a profound engagement with memory, time, and traces left behind by human experience. Crosscurrents explores the intersection of their practices that examine both physical and psychological landscapes. Blagg’s depictions of abandoned buildings, weathered road signs, and empty streets transform overlooked remnants of the American landscape into meditations on impermanence, economic change, and cultural memory. Wilkinson’s paintings draw from personal recollection, blending realism with layered surfaces that reflect the fluid and elusive nature of memory.
Night Call, Daniel Blagg
Together, the artists create a compelling dialogue between material decay and subjective remembrance. Blagg’s landscapes find an unexpected counterpart in Wilkinson’s explorations of identity, revealing shared concerns with loss, transformation, and the passage of time. Crosscurrents celebrates the connection between artists whose decades of creative practice and community engagement have helped shape the contemporary art scene. Also on view at Keith House the work of Artspace111 artist Stella Alesi August 20 October 10. Artist talk Saturday, September 19 at 2pm. FWADA Fall Gallery Night, September 19, 2026 | 9

2100 Montgomery St., Fort Worth, TX 76107 817.759.9475 www.fortworksart.com | @fortworksart TEN YEARS IN, AND WE’RE NOT SLOWING DOWN. Fort Works Art introduces newly represented artist Wes Coke, with a solo exhibition of his paintings that make stillness and the quiet in-between moments impossible to ignore. Saturated color, cropped perspectives, and solitary figures turn poolsides, interiors, and everyday pauses into something cinematic. Nothing is happening, and somehow everything is. We see ourselves in his work. In our smaller gallery, Marilyn Monroe 100 marks the icon’s centennial with an intimate selection of photographs by legendary photographer and filmmaker Lawrence Schiller, who captured Monroe during the final months of her life.
Wes Coke, Goodbye to Yesterday
Together the exhibitions close out the first decade of Fort Works Art with new voices, iconic work, and raw artistry. What comes next will build on everything that has brought us here. And what comes next will be our biggest step yet.

GALLERY NIGHT HOURS: 12-9 Regular Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-5 Theoria Ornamentalis featuring Douglas Cason Gallery 440 is pleased to present Theoria Ornamentalis, a new body of paintings by Fort Worth-born artist Douglas Cason. In this compelling exhibition, Cason confronts an enduring cultural measure: the reduction of a woman’s worth to her beauty. The women depicted in these works are not presented as objects of admiration or invitation. They appear burdened, weary, and resolute—their expressions revealing the emotional weight of being seen, judged, and often unheard. Their exhaustion is not weakness, but evidence of endurance. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston, where he earned his MFA in Painting, Cason has exhibited nationally for more than two decades. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Visual Arts in the College of Creative and Performing Arts at Guilford Technical Community College in North Carolina. Gallery 440 is proud to welcome Cason back to Fort Worth for this important exhibition. Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and music as DJ Melo returns to soundtrack the event, while guests explore both Theoria Ornamentalis and Gallery 440’s permanent collection of eclectic contemporary works. 12| FWADA Fall Gallery Night, September 19, 2026

Closed Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers, organized by the Modern in collaboration with the Guggenheim NYC, is a comprehensive survey of the artist’s nearly thirty-year career, and marks his largest exhibition to date. Rashid Johnson is internationally recognized for his multidisciplinary practice that spans photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, film, and installation. This exhibition unites nearly 90 works that shed light on pivotal phases of the artist’s career, including his early experiments in photography and video, and his recent materially complex paintings and assemblages. A Poem for Deep Thinkers visually brings to life Johnson’s path to selfdiscovery from a young age and his deep personal and cultural reflections over the last three decades. Spanning themes of history, identity, masculinity, parenthood, and self-care, the work underscores Johnson’s role as both an interpreter of art history and shaper of contemporary culture. His deeply personal perspective yields insights and observations that resonate broadly with viewers.

THE ART GALLERIES AT TCU: FORT WORTH CONTEMPORARY ARTS 3050 Waits Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76109 817.257.2588 | www.theartgalleries.tcu.edu | @tcuartgalleries GALLERY NIGHT HOURS: 12–8 Normal Hours: Wed.-Sat. 12-5 and by appointment Rupture & Release: drawing as an act of embodiment features new works by Anne Allen, Dorota Borowa and Joey Fauerso, artists who are pushing the boundaries of what is understood by drawing. Breaking away from traditional drawing practices which rest with close observation and illustrative intention, the artists create drawings through processes of improvisation and collaboration with other people, built and natural environments, and selected materials. Unpredictability and loss of control result in drawings that are becoming, undetermined and free; pleasure through line is nourished by uncertainty and serendipity. Using fabric, paper and video, Allen, Borowa and Fauerso experiment with mark-making as an act of live and residual performance, and as such, their work presents as a form of embodied drawing. Aspects of scale, movement and theatricality are juxtaposed with discrete lines made by cuts, tears, folds, shadows and the edges of collaged elements which reveal small physical gestures. On view through September 26.

Celebrating Emerging Artists FWADA is proud to feature the work of local K–12 students in this year’s Fall Gallery Night brochure. Open to young artists across Tarrant County, this competition reflects our ongoing commitment to uplifting emerging talent and supporting the next generation of creative voices. From a remarkable group of submissions, the FWADA Board and members selected Yearning by 14-year-old Isla Ross, an incoming 9th grader at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy, as this year’s cover artwork. Rendered in colored pencil, Ross’s piece explores the delicate balance between fulfillment and ambition—a constant feeling in her teenage life. “While that yearning can often feel overwhelming,” Ross shares, “it is also what pushes me to become a better artist and a better person.” We extend our sincere gratitude to all participating students, whose imagination and expressive depth continue to inspire us, as well as the dedicated educators and institutions guiding their artistic journeys. Together, let’s keep fostering the future of the arts.

Artists make a huge impact in this world and we want to show that even the small things matter.
Uniendo Hilos/Merging Threads unites artworks made from fabric and thread by nationally renowned artists Arleene Correa Valencia and Antonio Lechuga. These artists emphasize safety, comfort, protection, and family care through stitching and sewing, transforming everyday fabric into something symbolic and magical. Born in Michoacán, Mexico and based in California, Arleene Correa Valencia’s work is about migration and is equally about grief and anxiety as it is about celebration. Her work features family clothing handed down and represents pride and visibility. Correa Valencia stitches together stories of love and protection. Dallas-based Antonio Lechuga makes collaged work out of cobijas—utilitarian fleece blankets. Cobijas are household objects, placed on couches and beds, that hold powerful stories. Whether he is depicting a local storefront, a quinceañera dress, or a landscape, Lechuga embeds comfort and care in his imagery. Organized by guest curator Maggie Adler and on view until November 8. CHIEFFALO americana Presents Joey Forest “Middle of Somewhere.” Best known locally as the frontman of The Waylanders, Forest brings the same independent spirit to his visual work, creating bold, graphic figures inspired by the American West, music, roadside culture, and the enduring mythology of the cowboy.
Join us for the closing reception of Expeditions Through the Lens: Botanical Photographs of Sherwin Carlquist. Travel the world through the camera of botanist Sherwin Carlquist — vivid field photographs and personal notebooks organized by the BRIT Library that reveal the curiosity and observations that reshaped our understanding of plant life. Light refreshments will be provided.
Working primarily in crayon and paint, Forest distills familiar Western imagery into striking compositions that feel both nostalgic and unmistakably contemporary. His work is confident, playful, and deeply personal—reflecting an artist who has rediscovered a lifelong creative voice. As CHIEFFALO americana’s inaugural featured artist, Forest represents the gallery’s commitment to introducing exceptional emerging talent and connecting collectors with artists at the beginning of their journey. Join us during FWADA Gallery Night to experience this exciting debut exhibition and meet the artist. 38| FWADA Fall Gallery Night, September 19, 2026

The Masure Gallery is thrilled to present the solo photography exhibition Kaiku, by K.P. Wilska. Wilska is a Fort Worth photographer who specializes in high-key, minimalist photography. Originally born in Finland, the exhibition title Kaiku is from the Finnish language which translates to the word “echo” in English. This exhibition explores ideas around built and natural environments through a series of diptych images. Through Wilska’s signature highkey photographic style, curator Simone Fischer arranges his photographs by merging minimal and his lesser-known maximal photographs as diptychs. The result is a series of photographs that push and pull on the fraught relationship between natural and built environments. Without any obvious visual similarities, each photograph retains or echoes a subtle visual harmony. Similarity? K.P. Wilska FWADA Fall Gallery Night, September 19, 2026 | 41

How to Talk to Space People is a collaborative exhibition by Bay Area artists Courtney Knight and Jack Graydon, whose creative practices have quietly influenced one another for years. Working across painting, sculpture, and ceramics, the exhibition brings their shared visual language into focus for the first time. Knight’s work explores storytelling through playful ceramic forms and expressive paintings inspired by memory, curiosity, and everyday moments, while Graydon’s paintings and carved wood sculptures draw from folk art, cartoons, and abstraction to create worlds that feel both familiar and unexpected. Together, their work invites viewers into a space where humor, imagination, and craftsmanship spark new ways of seeing.
Sizable Cloud by artist Jay Asp features figurative artwork that explores the narratives & traditions (artistically and hagiographically) that suggest the presence of heroes in our everyday world. Each artwork hints at those stories and serves to challenge and inspire.
Join us for the opening reception and artist talk with Knight and Graydon, visiting from the Bay Area for Fall Gallery Night. Meet the artists, learn about their collaborative process, and experience their first exhibition together.

Ascendencia features a selection of works by Fort Worth-based interdisciplinary artist Brenda Melgoza Ciardiello. The term ascendencia refers to upbringing and growth from roots. This exhibition includes monumental paintings, ceramic sculpture, photographic collages, cyanotypes, and multimedia assemblages that investigate and celebrate the multiplicity of the artist’s connection to her various homes—Mexico and Texas, among others—and her extensive travels. Whether through paintings and photo collages that feature overlapping images, cherished objects, people, landscapes, and memories or through ceramics, the figures bear witness to Ciardiello’s own ascendencia, the encapsulation of her experience, her reconstruction of memories, and her capacity to grow roots and bloom where she is planted. Ascendencia is a celebration of the ecologies of place–the locations and experiences that shape us into the complex and multifaceted humans we are. The exhibition, organized by the artist and guest curator Maggie Adler, is on view until November 22.
