Full Court Basketball League (Gr. 3&4)

This league will have separate boys and girls teams. Teams will be formed by schools and include both grades 3 & 4 together Teams will practice two times a week based on coach and gym availability in December and one time per week in January and February. Games will start January 11 and conclude March 1 and are played primarily in the mornings or early afternoons Games will be played in Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Johnson Creek and Palmyra

Youth Basketball Coach's Clinic

Those interested in coaching in our basketball leagues or want to learn how to teach the game to their children, we will be having a basketball coach's clinic that will cover the best ways to teach shooting, dribbling, and passing to the players in our league. Numerous drills will also be shown with the teaching techniques incorporated into the drills League rules will also be discussed No registration is required.

Learn the individual skills of volleyball. Serving, setting, passing, and spiking will be covered with drills and contests to challenge and add to the fun! This is a great program for inexperienced 6th graders (< 1 year of volleyball) This program is offered for boys and girls. Max: 40

Indoor Soccer (Grades 5K-3)

For the first part of class, the children will work on fundamentals and then move onto game play Dribbling, kicking, passing, trapping, and goaltending will be covered During the second part of class your child will have the chance to play offense, defense, and goalie. Teams are formed by grade and school A soft soccer ball is used to make play safer and to make the ball easier to control Min/Max: 10/32

Instructors will teach a new sport each class and include basic rules, simple skills, fun contests, and kids will get to see all the equipment needed to play each sport. This is a non-competitive atmosphere with a safe, proper sized sports ball Sports include baseball, basketball, flag football, and soccer At the end of each class, kids will get to try on a jersey and equipment. Nerf Dart Battle (Ages 8-12)

Get ready for an adrenaline pumping indoor dart battle! This action-packed event transforms the Municipal Gym into an arena filled with barricades and hideouts. Participants bring their own dart blasters (darts and safety googles will be provided). Join the Parks and Rec. staff for an epic foam-flying frenzy. Min/Max: 14/30

These unique programs blend our staff, parents, and your children for a 4-day program Our lead instructor shows parents how to best teach the proper skills for this age level utilizing special equipment and age appropriate sized balls. Looking for a fun, safe, chaperoned place on Friday and Saturday nights for kids in grades 6-7-8? The Fort Youth Center is the place to be With a gym for shooting baskets, hitting volleyballs around, playing dodgeball or laser tag, we are the #1 destination for middle school students. Add in a video game room with a PlayStation 4, Xbox 1, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Switch and you have a night of fun waiting at your fingertips. A small concession stand with candy bars, chips, and drinks are available for purchase.

DANCE & KARATE

Main Street Dance Studio (Ages 3-18)

31 classes are offered for all levels of dance during our 24-week school year session at Main Street Dance Studio Classes are offered for ages 3-18 Classes are held in our dance studios on the second floor of the municipal building above the Parks and Recreation Office. Our instructors teach ballet, tap, jazz, theatrical, and pointe classes. Participants will be placed in classes based on age and level of dance The 24-week session starts in late September/early October and concludes with a dance recital at UW-Whitewater's Young Auditorium. Fort Atkinson Traditional Karate-do (Ages

5-Adult)

Sensei Megan Gleisner, a second dan runs our karate program. Sensei Gleisner has been training for eighteen years at the Shin Gi Tai Dojo here in Fort Atkinson and Jefferson She has trained under Kyoshi Brad Wells and Sensei Bolton. She was an assistant instructor for seven years before taking over the Fort Atkinson Dojo over a year ago. Each karate session runs for six weeks. Sensei Gleisner and her staff will teach the techniques of Shotokan and Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu Karate, but also improve coordination, discipline, and respect. Various skill levels are offered for youth including a level for new kids to the program

Mark your calendars, arrange the baby sitters, and rally your BFF’s! Adult Recess is a 21+ only free event that allows adults to be kids for a night. There will be nostalgic playground games, all of your favorite old hits, and food and beverages available for purchase through the General's Concession Stand In addition to cornhole, giant Jenga, and giant connect four, there will be organized games such as kickball at 6:30pm and dodgeball at 7:45 pm When adulting gets too hard, there’s Adult Recess!

Join us for this fun and easy workshop where you will create your very own cozy throw blanket! Jessie, from Chroma Art Studio, will guide you with step-by-step directions in how to make a hand knit blanket that requires no special tools! No prior knitting experience is needed. Disc Golf Drop-In League

The Fort Atkinson Disc Golf League offers a weekly free drop-in league night. All levels of play are invited to come out every Wednesday to play at the Rock River Park Disc Golf Course. No registration required.

Eisstok is a game similar to curling but with much lighter stoks to toss. Eisstok is played like Bocce Ball on ice. Warm clothes, warm footwear (boots), and if you have ice creepers for your boots they are recommended but not necessary. The success of Fort Atkinson's summer softball leagues is the ability to draw a great number of teams, which allows the department to create divisions of play suitable for nearly every softball skill level. Whether your team is highly competitive, in the middle, or just out for fun and comradery, the Fort Atkinson Parks & Recreation softball leagues have a place for your team.

Burn calories and get fit with this traditional style aerobics program. Warm-up begins with a low level aerobic movement that gradually builds through the 40-minute workout. Heart rate decreases with a cool down program including an upper body workout. Class concludes with a 15-minute floor segment of abdominal, hip and thigh exercises, stretching, and relaxation

This exercise class is designed to improve your strength, flexibility, and tone. The 35-40 minute class includes warm-up, upper body strengthening, abdominal/hip/thigh and buttock workouts, stretch, and relaxation Times: Mon. 9:15 a.m.

SENIOR CENTER

The Fort Atkinson Senior Center provides social, nutritional, instructional and leisure activities, and opportunities for our citizens. There is no membership fee as the Center is tax supported. The Center receives additional funding support from several donors, and the Senior Citizens Inc organization that meets and holds fundraisers at the Center The nutrition site at the Center, staffed by Jefferson County, provides wellbalanced meals five days a week on a recommended $5 00 donation basis. “The Quill” newsletter is available at the Center, Parks & Rec. Office, and at various locations throughout Fort Atkinson and neighboring communities A weekly email called "Friday Findings" is also emailed to anyone who signs up, which includes up to date information.

The Center features a fitness room, craft room, game room, and entertainment room with a large projection screen and sound system for movies and presentations. Trips are also frequently offered through the Senior Center To set up a tour of the Center or to try any of these activities please call the Fort Senior Center at (920) 397-9913.

A lodge-like building features indoor seating for 75, a kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, renovated indoor restrooms, outside patio and a beautiful view of wooded

This shelter is located near horse shoe pits and a playground. Restrooms, grills, and electrical outlets are available. Accommodates 75 people.

In a secluded picnic area just 100 yards from the Fort Aquatic Center, the sparkling pavilion has space for nearly 150 people. Over 250 people may be accommodated if using picnic tables in the shaded areas around the shelter. Kitchen preparation area, numerous electric outlets, a grill, and a serving line shelf are located at the pavilion.

The shelter is located next to Haumerson's Pond and the Bark River. This shelter is available to rent year round, with restrooms available inside the shelter. Capacity: 24 people (lower level), 24 (upper level), and 100 people on balcony/outside.
