Un caloroso benvenuto da Lorenzo Giannuzzi Un caloroso benvenuto a tutti coloro che renderanno unica la sesta edizione del Forte Village Challenge Sardinia.

A warm welcome to all of you that will make the sixth edition of the Forte Village Challenge Sardinia unique.

Sardinia and sport prove to be a winning combination once again. Our climate, the mildest of all southern Europe, the amazing beauty of this corner of the Island and race course, the high level of satisfaction of the athletes who took part in the previous editions and the perfect organization are just some of the strengths that have contributed over the years in making the Forte Village Challenge Sardinia one of the most appreciated Triathlon events on an international level.

We are very proud of the results we have achieved. They have fastly and exponentially boosted the event, giving a strong boost to tourism and contributing to the socioeconomic development of the territory in the low season.

This success has been made possible by the support and cooperation of the local authorities, the Municipalities of Pula, Teulada, Domus de Maria and Sant’Anna Arresi, the Law Enforcement, the Sardinian Region and the Municipality of Cagliari, the Arst and Anas for transportation, the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the Central Emergency service 118. Furthermore, the warm participation of the many volunteers who support us every year is fundamental. Last, but not least, the contribution of the loyal sponsors who have chosen to be an active part of this weekend dedicated to the sport and the Forte Village staff that allows all participants to live an absolutely unrepeatable experience.

We hope you spend two unforgettable days. Thank you to all the athletes who are here for the first time and the ones we have had the privilege of hosting in previous editions, which will surely make this sixth event unique.

La Sardegna e lo sport si confermano ancora una volta un connubio vincente. Il nostro clima, il più mite di tutta l’Europa meridionale, la stupefacente bellezza di questo meraviglioso angolo della nostra Isola, la spettacolarità del percorso di gara, l’elevatissimo livello di soddisfazione degli atleti che hanno partecipato alle precedenti edizioni e l’organizzazione impeccabile sono solo alcuni dei punti di forza che hanno contribuito, negli anni, a rendere il Forte Village Challenge Sardinia uno degli eventi di Triathlon più apprezzati a livello internazionale.

Siamo molto orgogliosi dei risultati raggiunti, che hanno fatto crescere rapidamente in modo esponenziale questo importante appuntamento con lo sport , contribuendo sempre più a dare una forte spinta al turismo e favorendo lo sviluppo socio-economico del territorio nel periodo di bassa stagione.

Un successo reso possibile anche grazie al sostegno e alla collaborazione con le autorità locali dei Comuni di Pula, Teulada, Domus de Maria e Sant’Anna Arresi, le Forze dell’ordine, la Regione Sardegna, il Comune di Cagliari, l’Arst e Anas, la Città Metropolitana di Cagliari e la Centrale 118. Fondamentale, inoltre, la calorosa partecipazione dei tantissimi volontari che ogni anno ci supportano. Ultimo, ma non meno importante, il contributo dei fedelissimi sponsor che hanno scelto di essere parte attiva di questo weekend dedicato allo sport e dello staff del Forte Village che permette a tutti i partecipanti di vivere una esperienza assolutamente irripetibile.

Con l’augurio che possiate trascorrere due giornate indimenticabili, desidero ringraziare tutti coloro che sono qui per la prima volta e gli atleti che abbiamo avuto il privilegio di ospitare nelle precedenti edizioni, che renderanno sicuramente unico questo sesto appuntamento.

The Race Bags contains: chip, race bib, 3 numbered helmet stickers, 1 numbered bike sticker, 2 numbered tattoos, 1 numbered swim cap, 3 transition bags and a wristband to be worn during the entire event.

BRIEFING Il briefing obbligatorio della gara Half si terrà Sabato 27 ottobre alle ore 12:00 in lingua italiana e alle ore 14:00 in lingua inglese (Leisureland, nei pressi della zona Arrivo). Tutti gli atleti dovranno posizionare la bicicletta in T1 Sabato 27 ottobre, dopo aver effettuato la registrazione a partire dalle ore 13:00.

The mandatory briefing for the Half distance race will take place on Saturday 27th October at 12:00 p.m. in italian and at 2:00 p.m. in english (Leisureland, near the arrival zone). All the athletes are asked to position their bicycles in T1 on Saturday 27th October, after having completed the registration.

Per accedere in T1 dovranno indossare il casco e il pettorale ma dovranno portare quest’ultimo con sé per poter accedere di nuovo domenica mattina.

To access T1, both helmet and bib numbers must be worn. Athletes will also be asked to wear their bib number again on Sunday morning.

Domenica mattina fra le ore 6:15 e le 7:15 gli atleti potranno accedere alle zone cambio (indossando il pettorale di gara) per gli ultimi preparativi e per posizionare le scarpe da corsa in T2.

Sunday morning from 6:15 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. athletes will be able to access the changing area (Whilst wearing the bib number) for the final preperations and to position the race shoes at the T2 area.

La zona di riscaldamento in spiaggia sarà alla destra rispetto al punto di partenza, in attesa dello start.

The warm-up area on the beach will be on the right hand side of the beach before the start of the race.

Il percorso in bici sarà chiuso al traffico ma vige il codice della strada che deve essere rispettato in ogni momento.

The cycling route will be closed to all traffic however all road safety regulations must be respected at all times.

La scia è vietata solo nella gara HALF DISTANCE (permessa nello SPRINT).

Percorso ciclistico

Una volta raggiunta la propria bici in T1 - a soli 50 metri dalla spiaggia - gli atleti percorreranno un unico giro, estremamente panoramico, che richiederà impegno, tecnica e tanta concentrazione. Saranno posizionati 3 ristori rispettivamente ai Km 23, Km 43, Km 72.

Percorso podistico La frazione di corsa, caratterizzata da continui cambi di pendenza, consiste in 2 giri da 10,5 km. Sono previsti 3 punti di ristoro ad intervalli di circa 2,5 Km ciascuno.

Tempi limite (Half distance) Il tempo limite per concludere la frazione di nuoto è di 1h 00min dalla partenza della batteria. Il percorso ciclistico dovrà essere completato da tutti i partecipanti entro le 5 ore di gara. Il percorso di corsa dovrà essere completato da tutti i partecipanti entro le ore 16:20.

Swim course The swimming consists of 1 anticlockwise lap.

Bike course Once in T1 – located only 50 meters from the beach – athletes will cycle for one single lap that is extremely panoramic and requires energy, technique and concentration. There will be 3 aid stations located at Km 23, Km 43, Km 72.

Run course The running, with various changes of inclination, consists of 2 laps of 10,5 km each. There will be 3 aid stations along the route roughly every 2,5 km.

Swim course Athletes will swim one lap anticlockwise in the Mediterranean sea.

Bike course Two almost flat laps of 10km each.

Run course The running will consist of 2 laps of 2,5 km each, all inside the Resort, allowing spectators and friends to see this event and to follow some of the most exciting moments of the entire race. One aid station can be found at the exit of T2 and at the end of the first lap.

Al termine della competizione, sarà possibile ritirarla insieme a quella della T1 presso la Segreteria (Expo) esibendo il proprio pettorale. Le staffette invece ritireranno le loro sacche nei punti di deposito (T1 e T2).

Domenica 28 ottobre si tingera’ di rosa. Alle ore 10.00 sarà il momento della Challenge Women una camminata ludico motoria di 5 km per sole donne all’interno del meraviglioso parco del Forte Village. Un’occasione unica per essere parte di questo weekend di sport e per supportare la Campagna Nastro Rosa. Tutto il devoluto della manifestazione sarà infatti devoluto alla AIRC. Unisciti a noi e condividi la gioia dello sport e del benessere!

PROVA PERCORSO Nella giornata di venerdì saranno allestiti due punti di ristoro, come indicato nella mappa, per la prova percorso delle ore 10:30. Pedalerete in compagnia del nutrizionista Iader Fabbri che vi darà consigli sull’integrazione in gara con i prodotti Enervit.

TIME RUSH Domenica 28 verranno cronometrati 3 segmenti (1 di 300 metri nella frazione di bici e 2 da 100 metri nella frazione di corsa). Al termine della gara verrà stilata una classifica maschie e una femminile per somma dei tempi nei 3 passaggi. Partecipano solo gli atleti iscritti alla gara individuale (non gli staffettisti) e che avranno tagliato anche la finish line.I vincitori saranno premiati da Red Bull durante la cerimonia degli Awards.

Sunday 28th you will be timed 3 times (1 of 300m during the bike leg and 2 of 100m. during the running leg). At the end of the race a male and female ranking will be drawn by summing the times taken. This valid only for athletes who complete the individual competition (not Relay).

The winners will be awarded by Redbull at the Award ceremony on Sunday at 5:30 pm.

La nostra isola, la Sardegna, ospita alcuni segreti e piaceri meravigliosi: i panorami incantati e mozzafiato, la bellezza dei suoi spazi immensi, la deliziosa cucina tradizionale e una natura incontaminata che risale ai tempi antichi. Dal Forte Village è possibile noleggiare un’auto e in soli 45 minuti raggiungerete la splendida città di Cagliari, con le sue antiche mura e siti storici, una bella vita notturna, un’ampia varietà di ristoranti, il Parco Naturale Regionale Molentargius-Saline, uno dei luoghi più importanti in Europa per il numero straordinario di uccelli che vi si trovano e il Poetto, la principale spiaggia di Cagliari che si estende per quasi cinque miglia.

Dal Forte Village potete anche noleggiare una bicicletta e scoprire Nora, una delle prime città fenice fondate in Sardegna. La città ebbe vita nel VIII secolo A.C., ma si sviluppò soprattutto nel periodo punico, tra i secoli V e III A.C. Nelle vicinanze si trova la stessa laguna, che comprende un sistema ramificato di canali e isole che caratterizza la foce del fiume Rio Arrieras ed è separata dal mare dalla penisola Fradis minoris, una formazione geologica conosciuta come il letto in pietra tirrenica, ricco di inclusioni fossili. La laguna è piena di numerose specie di uccelli, tra i quali il raro gabbiano di Audouin, che ha scelto la Laguna di Nora come il suo principale sito di nidificazione in Italia.

Può essere piacevole trascorrere anche una giornata a Pula. Pula è una deliziosa cittadina, fatta di vicoli suggestivi dove troverete negozi di artigianato, ristoranti tradizionali dove gustare gli spaghetti con la bottarga e i frutti di mare freschi.

In questa zona si possono trovare i tratti più magici e diversificati della costa sarda: le spiagge e le insenature balneari, gli scavi romani e le dune di sabbia. L’area di Pula offre 20 km di costa, 7000 ettari di foresta, lunghe spiagge bianche di sabbia fine, piccole baie strette tra i fondali rocciosi. Se siete amanti della natura avrete l’imbarazzo della scelta in questo immenso patrimonio naturale.

And Forte Village is also close to a large number of cultural, archaeological and natural sites of interest. From Forte Village you can also hire a bike and discover Nora, one of the first Phoenician allocations founded in Sardinia. In the vicinity of the latter is the lagoon of the same name, which includes a branched system of channels and islands that characterizes the mouth of the river Rio Arrieras, and it is separated from the sea by the peninsula called Fradis minoris, a geological formation known as the Tyrrhenian sandstone bed, rich of fossil inclusions. The lagoon is full of numerous species of birds including the most representative in coastal birdlife as the rare Audouin’s gull, which the Laguna di Nora is its main nesting site in Italy.

A day out in Pula is also worthwhile. Pual is a delightful old town, charming alleys where you can browse through the craft shops, traditional restaurants where you can taste the spaghetti with bottarga and fresh seafood. Here you can find the most magical as well as diversified stretches of coastline in Sardinia. Balmy beaches and coves, Roman excavations and blindingly white sand dunes endow the area with its richness. The area of Pula offers 20 km of coast, 7000 hectares of forest, long white beaches of fine sand, small narrow bays between rocky headlands. If you are nature lovers you will have plenty of choices in this immense natural heritage.

REGOLAMENTO DI GARA Il Forte Village Challege Sardinia si svolge secondo le regole della Federazione Italiana di Triathlon. Le distanze di gara sono 1,9 km di nuoto, 90 km in bicicletta e 21 km di corsa per l’HALF DISTANCE; 750 m di nuoto, 20 km in bicicletta e 5 km di corsa per lo SPRINT. I concorrenti devono rispettare in ogni momento le istruzioni degli Ufficiali di Gara e degli agenti di polizia e fare attenzione al traffico stradale.

Ogni contravventore ai giudici o alle forze dell’ordine verrà squalificato ed escluso dalla gara; il concorrente potrà completare la corsa ed avrà diritto di appello, esponendo le sue ragioni e seguendo la procedura ufficiale.

Il Direttore di gara e i giudici hanno la facoltà di squalificare i concorrenti. Si prega di rispettare tutte le leggi e le norme di circolazione stradale in ogni momento e considerare tutte le parti del percorso, come se fossero aperte al pubblico e ai veicoli in ogni momento. Anche se il percorso risulta chiuso al traffico, si potrebbero incontrare residenti, veicoli di emergenza e di assistenza alla gara e tutte le regole e la normativa sulla circolazione devono quindi essere seguiti in ogni momento. Si applicano le regole di guida a destra.

Il Forte Village Challege Sardinia è un evento ad invito, e gli organizzatori possono rifiutare l’ingresso a qualsiasi concorrente, per qualsiasi motivo, e a propria discrezione senza alcuna spiegazione. La gara è riservata agli atleti affiliati ad una Federazione Nazionale Triathlon. È possibile fare un tesseramento giornaliero ma dietro presentazione di certificato medico (€ 30,00 per l’HALF, € 20,00 per le STAFFETTE e € 15,00 per lo SPRINT). Gli atleti non italiani che non sono affiliati ad una Federazione nazionale di Triathlon, devono fare una visita medica specifica in Italia e ottenere il Certificato Medico Agonistico per il triathlon. Poi, possono acquistare la licenza giornaliera.

Il Medico di gara potrà a sua discrezione autorizzare i concorrenti a continuare la gara o fermarsi.

Nessun concorrente può utilizzare sostanze vietate con l’intento di migliorare le loro prestazioni, eliminare

il senso di stanchezza o per qualsiasi altro scopo. È importante che tutti i concorrenti mostrino un buon comportamento e la condotta sportiva e trattino gli altri concorrenti, gli organizzatori, i volontari e i collaboratori, con cortesia e rispetto. In caso contrario potranno essere squalificati in qualsiasi momento prima, durante o dopo la manifestazione.

Se un concorrente si ritira, deve avvisare immediatamente i giudici del suo ritiro. Ogni concorrente che non lo facesse e diventasse oggetto di ricerca per soccorso, dovrà sostenere tutti i costi relativi.

Forte Village Challege Sardinia si riserva il diritto di modificare le regole e i regolamenti in qualsiasi momento, se tale cambiamento è nell’interesse della sicurezza dei concorrenti.Non si possono utilizzare cuffie o auricolari. Non si può gareggiare a torso nudo. Ogni concorrente deve avere compreso l’intero percorso ed è sua responsabilità seguire il tracciato corretto. Eventuali proteste dovranno essere presentate al Delegato Tecnico entro mezzora dalla fine della gara e devono essere accompagnati da una tassa di presentazione 100 €. Se la protesta viene accolta, i 100 € saranno rimborsati. Se la protesta non viene accolta la tassa sarà persa.

In caso di maltempo, Forte Village Challege Sardinia si riserva il diritto di trasformare l’evento in un duathlon, nell’interesse della sicurezza dei concorrenti: in questo caso comunque non verrà rimborsato alcun costo di iscrizione.

Il montepremi in denaro sarà assegnato ai concorrenti della gara HALF maschile e femminile secondo lo schema seguente: 1° € 3500, 2° € 2100, 3° € 1400, 4° € 1150, 5° € 850, 6° € 500. Il premio in denaro è dedicato alle categorie “Pro”. Gli atleti devono fornire la prova del loro status di Professionisti per poter ricevere il premio in denaro. Tasse e spese bancarie sono a carico di ciascun concorrente. Nella gara Half, verranno inoltre assegnati premi e trofei ai primi tre classificati di ogni categoria di età: 20-24, 25-29, 3034, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

I numeri di gara forniti devono essere visibili in ogni momento della la gara. Tutti gli atleti devono registrarsi in segreteria nei tempi previsti e consegnare la propria bici in zona cambio. Il Briefing è obbligatorio. Gli organizzatori dell’evento si riservano il diritto di squalificare chiunque non aderisse a queste regole.

Regole per la frazione nuoto Il pettorale di gara non dev’essere indossato durante la frazione di nuoto, nemmeno sotto alla muta. La mattina della gara verrà comunicata l’eventuale possibilità d’uso di muta, a seconda della temperatura e delle condizioni dell’acqua. Non sono ammesse pinne, palette, boccagli, dispositivi di galleggiamento di qualsiasi tipo. Si possono invece utilizzare occhialini da nuoto e maschere (purché non in vetro). È obbligatorio l’uso della cuffia fornita dall’organizzatore, pena squalifica dalla gara.

Il percorso di nuoto potrà essere modificato o annullato in relazione alle condizioni meteo marine.

Regole Corsa I concorrenti non devono alterare le dimensioni o l’aspetto del pettorale, e devono indossarlo frontalmente in maniera visibile.

I concorrenti più lenti devono tenere la destra per farsi superare a sinistra.

Il percorso è riservato ai soli atleti in gara e ai mezzi autorizzati.

I concorrenti devono rispettare tutte le indicazioni dei giudici e le leggi sul traffico, la normativa stradale e le indicazioni di gara e delle forze dell’ordine.

Regole Bike Nella gara HALF non è permessa la scia. Ogni atleta deve stare ad almeno 12 metri di distanza dall’atleta che lo precede (ruota-ruota) e deve effettuare il sorpasso entro 25 secondi. L’atleta superato avrà poi 25 secondi per guadagnare la distanza necessaria.

I numeri di gara non devono essere alterati in termini di dimensioni o aspetto, e devono essere indossati sul retro durante la frazione. Si accettano solo caschi omologati. I caschi devono essere allacciati prima di togliere la bici dalla rastrelliera e fino al posizionamento in T2. L’assistenza di terzi sarà motivo di squalifica immediata. Non è consentito l’uso di ruote di scorta e bici muletto e ogni concorrente deve essere in grado di gestire ogni possibile malfunzionamento meccanico. I ciclisti sono tenuti ad ascoltare le indicazioni e le istruzioni di tutti i funzionari di gara e le autorità pubbliche. I concorrenti possono eventualmente camminare spingendo la loro bici, se necessario.I concorrenti devono mantenere la destra, sorpassare a sinistra e rispettare tutte le leggi sul traffico, la normativa stradale e le indicazioni dei giudici di gara e delle autorità. L’organizzazione ha il diritto di modificare il percorso.

RACING RULES Forte Village Challege Sardinia is organized under the Italian Triathlon Federation Competition rules and Forte Village Challege Sardinia regulations. The race distances are as follows: 1,9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21 km running for the Half Distance; 750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running for the SPRINT. At all times competitors must respect and follow the instructions of Race Officials and Police Officers and be aware of vehicular transport.

Any competitor who fails to follow the instructions of Race officials or the Police will be removed from the Event and disqualified; the competitor will be able to accomplish the race, exercising the right to appeal to the panel, explaining the complaints and following the official procedure. The Event Director and Race Referee both have the discretion to disqualify competitors.

Please respect all traffic laws and regulations at all times and treat all parts of the course as open to the public and vehicles at all times. While some parts of the course may be closed to public access, residential, emergency and Event vehicles will be using the course, and all road rules and regulations must therefore be followed at all times. Right hand drive rules apply.

Forte Village Challege Sardinia is an invitation event, and the Event organizers may refuse entry to any competitor, on any grounds, and at their own discretion without explanation. The competition is restricted to affiliated athletes to a National Triathlon Federation.It’s possible to obtain a daily membership € 30,00 for the HALF, € 15,00 for the RELAY and € 20,00 for the SPRINT, but a Agonistic Medical Certificate for Triathlon is required in order to participate. The non-Italian athletes who are not affiliated to a National Triathlon Federation, must make a specific medical examination in Italy and must obtain the Agonistic Medical Certificate for Triathlon.

Then, it will be possible to obtain a daily license.

The Event Medical Team will have ultimate discretion and the final decision as to the suitability of a competitor to continue in the Event, and likewise if they should be withdrawn from the Event. No competitor may use any banned substances with the intent to improve their performance, eliminate the sense of fatigue or for any other purpose. It is important that all competitors exhibit good behavior and sportsmanlike conduct, and treat fellow competitors, Event organizers, volunteers and contractors with courtesy and respect. Failure to do so may result in disqualification at any time before,

during or after the Event. If a competitor withdraws from the Event they must inform the course officials of their withdrawal immediately. Any competitor failing to do so and being the subject of a resulting search and rescue operation will incur all costs relating to this exercise if they are found to be in their accommodation or other such safe place.

Forte Village Challege Sardinia reserves the right to alter rules, regulations, Event course and venues at any time provided athletes are advised prior to the Event, or if such a change is in the interest of competitor safety.

No headphones or headsets may be worn during the race. Forte Village Challege Sardinia competitors may not compete with a bare torso. Each competitor must be familiar with the entire course and it is his or her responsibility to follow the correct route. Any protests must be lodged with the Race Referee within 30 minutes after the end of the race and must be accompanied by a € 100,00 lodgement fee. If their protest is upheld, the € 100,00 will be refunded in full. If the protest is not upheld, the fee will be forfeited.

In the case of bad weather, Forte Village Challege Sardinia reserves the right to convert the Event to duathlon status in the interests of competitor safety: in this case no registration fee will be compensated.

Prize money paid as follows (in Euros); 1st € 3.500, 2nd € 2.100, 3rd € 1.400, 4th € 1.150, 5th € 850, 6th € 500. Prize money applies to individual Pro Men’s and individual Pro Women’s fields only. Prize money will be paid according to overall race position. Athletes must provide proof of their professional status to be eligible for prize money. All prize money over Euro 500 is liable under Italian law. All bank fees are the responsibility of each competitor. Trophies will be awarded to the top three in each age group so long as they are an official category. The age groups are: 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 3539, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

Provided race numbers must be visible at all times throughout the race. All athletes must register during the allocated times and attend the compulsory race briefing. All individuals and teams must rack their bicycles during the allocated times - there will be no exceptions to this rule. The Event organizers reserve the right to disqualify anyone not adhering to these rules.

Swim Rules Use of the wetsuit will be allowed or not accordingly to water conditions and temperature.

It’s mandatory to wear the cap provided but forbidden the race bib during the swim (even under the wetsuit).

No fins, paddles, snorkels, flotation devices of any kind are permitted.

Swim goggles or face masks (no glass) may be worn.

Any assistance required during swim may result in is qualification. When training on the course immediately prior to the event, brightly colored swim caps must be worn for you own safety. Event organizers have the right to change the location of the swim course, the distance of the swim course or cancel the swim course (at their absolute discretion) taking into account the weather and water temperature conditions.

Run Rules Competitors must not alter the size or appearance of the race number, and must wear it clearly and visibly on their front. Slower competitors must keep to the right with other competitors overtaking on the left.

No individual support vehicles or non-participant escort runners or cyclists are allowed.

Competitors must obey all traffic laws, traffic regulations and the directions of Event officials and the Police.

Bike Rules No drafting is permitted. The cycle draft zone is a 12-meter long. Another athlete has 25 seconds to pass through that zone. Likewise, once an athlete is passed they have 25 seconds to drop back out of the draft zone. Race numbers must not be altered in size or appearance, and must be worn on the back during the bike. Only approved helmets are accepted. The chinstrap must secure helmets before un-racking the bike, and must remain fastened until the cyclist has dismounted the bike and returned it to its rack. Each participant is responsible for the state or repair of his/ her own bike. No spare wheels and back-up bikes are allowed. Each competitor has been prepared to handle any possible mechanical malfunction. Cyclists are expected to heed directions and instructions of all race officials and public authorities. Participant may run/ walk their bike if necessary. Competitors must keep as far to the right as is practically possible at all times, and pass others on the left and must obey all traffic laws, traffic regulations and the directions of Event officials and the Police. Event organizers have the right to modify the bike course.

Il Forte Village Triathlon è un progetto maturo, una realtà di fatto che va al di là dell’evento di ottobre e che parla di nuoto, bici e corsa in questa meravigliosa terra durante tutti i mesi dell’anno. La Sardegna è un’isola incantevole e accogliente e siamo orgogliosi di aver contribuito in questi 6 anni a promuoverla, facendola conoscere a tanti amanti di sport, di mare, di terra, di benessere, di viaggi e di nuove emozioni.

Forte Village Triathlon is a longstanding project, which goes beyond the October triathlon event and that talks about swimming, cycling and running in this wonderful land all year round. Sardinia is an enchanting and welcoming island, and we are proud to have promoted it in these past 6 years to many lovers of sport, sea, land, well-being, travel and new emotions.

Nato nel 2013 come gara di triathlon, compreso e partecipato da circa 400 atleti, oggi l’evento coinvolge e segna un intero territorio, attira oltre 1000 atleti e i loro accompagnatori per qualche giorno all’anno ma è presente e si percepisce per 365. Una delle gratificazioni più grandi del nostro lavoro è stato vedere come quello che un tempo era “un giro in bici” o “l’anello di Teulada”, oggi è diventato il “Percorso del Challenge Sardinia”. L’altra gratificazione è stata vedere come la popolazione ha dapprima accettato l’invasione da parte dei triatleti, con quei piccoli disagi che una gara comporta in termini se non altro di viabilità, per poi rendersi partecipe, supportando la grande macchina organizzativa (oltre 400 volontari provenienti da Pula, Domus De Maria, Teulada - inclusi il 1° Reggimento Corazzato e il 3° Reggimento Bersaglieri della Base Militare - S. Anna Arresi e Cagliari) o addirittura protagonista, come nel caso dei bambini delle scuole elementari di Pula, Domus De Maria e Teulada, quest’anno in mostra con 30 bandiere disegnate da loro per accogliere gli atleti di tutto il mondo.La presenza di campioni di calibro internazionale e di fama mondiale assicura una competizione di altissimo livello ed apre la via all’esercito di age-group che trovano il Forte Village Triathlon l’ambiente giusto per chiudere la stagione, sfidarsi ancora una volta, ritrovarsi fra simili o semplicemente per esordire in un contesto speciale e memorabile.

I percorsi delle nostre gare sono una sintesi di Sardegna: i suoi colori, i suoi profumi, la sua storia. C’è poi una cultura antica, ancora presente, che ci piace coinvolgere e raccontarvi. Vorremmo che ognuno di voi potesse fermarsi qualche giorno in più qui con noi a scoprire quanto c’è di meglio in questa magica terra, senza la fretta del cronometro.

Born in 2013 as a triathlon race, attended by approximately 400 athletes, today the event attracts over 1000 athletes and their families. The event only lasts a few days but impacts the Sardinian territory 365 days a year. One of our greatest achievements is to see how what was once “a bike ride” or “the Teulada ring” has today become the “Bike Course of Challenge Sardinia”.

Also very rewarding to see how the population has accepted this ‘invasion of triathletes’, initially with minor discomforts that a race of this scale entails in terms of viability, and then to see them participate by supporting the large organizational machine (over 400 volunteers from Pula, Domus De Maria, Teulada - including the 1° Reggimento Corazzato e il 3° Reggimento Bersaglieri of the Military Base - S. Anna Arresi and Cagliari) Even the primary school children of Pula, Domus De Maria and Teulada, participated by designing the 30 flags exhibited at the Expo tent to welcome athletes from around the world.

The presence of world-renowned champions ensures a very high level of competition and draws the age-group army who finds the Forte Village Triathlon the right environment to end the season, challenge each other once again, share a passion, or to simply debut in a special and memorable context. The routes of our races are a synthesis of Sardinia: its colors, its perfumes, its history.

Then there is an ancient culture, still present, which we like to involve and tell you about. We would like each of you to stay a few days longer here with us to discover this magical isalnd, without the haste of the stopwatch.
