Alliance Academy for Innovation Tell me a little bit about you!

My name is Rohan Anne and I am currently a graduating senior. I will have completed four years of the Emergency Medical Technician program at my school as well as two years of the Marketing program. I’d like to describe myself as a pretty easy-going guy. In my free time, I play club soccer for UFA. I also enjoy watching a lot of shows and playing sports with my friends.

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school?

Emergency Medical Technician has been my favorite subject in high school as I got the amazing opportunity to ride along in the ambulances throughout the county.

I even got to experience a cadaver lab which most might think is a little too much, but I got to learn a lot about human anatomy and physiology in a more handson setting which I thought was so cool.

Were you part of any clubs?

I was the President of the School Store for DECA as well as a school store intern this past year. National Technical Honor Society, National Honor Society, and HOSA were a few of the other clubs that I was actively involved in throughout high school.

Who was your greatest influence and why? Was there more than one?

My greatest influence is probably my phys-

ical therapist Keith May. I had a pretty bad knee injury in my sophomore year as I tore my ACL and it took a big toll on both my body and mind.

I struggled so much in school and I could not find the confidence to play sports again.

However, Keith helped me so much that year and even inspired me to pursue a career field in Sports Medicine so I could help others find their confidence again.

What will you miss most about your school?

I may be a little biased as I was part of the first class that spent all four years at Alliance, but I will always miss how close I got with my teachers. As both my teachers and I took the opportunity to experience a different kind of high school, we both grew up together as we took on the challenge of being the face of a new school and building it to be what it is today.

What are your plans after high school?

I will be attending the University of Georgia as part of the Honors program. I plan on majoring in Biology with a Pre-Med track with the hopes of going on to specialize in Sports Medicine. Not to look too far into the future, but I have a little dream of having a job as a Sports Medicine Physician for a professional sports team.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Honestly, I will probably still be going through some form of medical school. Other than continuing my education, I don’t really have a plan for myself. I want to see where life takes me and always try to make the best of it.

Student athlete interested in world of technology Patrick Haertel

I can’t say that any one person has had the greatest influence on me. As someone with so many different interests, I have had so many people influence me over the past four years.

Athletically, my coaches have driven me to be the best I can. In the classroom, I have had the opportunity to be taught by so many outstanding teachers, which I will forever be grateful for.

While I can’t name everyone, I would like to thank Coach Christie, Coach Moton, Mrs. Stevenson, and most importantly my parents.

Forsyth Central High School Tell me a little bit about you!

I am a student athlete graduating from the STEM Academy. During my four years at Forsyth Central I have played football, ran track, and been involved in National Honor Society.

I am graduating from Central with a 4.46 GPA, and have earned the AP Scholar with Distinction award.

Athletically I played football and ran track all 4 years. I finished my senior football season as a First Team All Region fullback.

My senior track season was special for me as I set school records in the 100m, 200m, 4x100, and 4x200 relays, but, most of all, competed alongside my teammates at the State Championships.

Outside of school, I have pursued an interest in programming — releasing an iOS app, WidgeTube, which allows users to add YouTube widgets to their iOS home screen. I enjoy hanging out with my friends (playing spikeball and video games) and spending time with my family.

What will you miss most about your school?

Central has been my home for the past four years and it really is a great community.

I will miss all the amazing people I have been surrounded by these past four years.

But I will always miss playing with an FC on my helmet and running with an FC on my chest.

What are your plans after high school?

I will be attending MIT where I will be majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Course 6-2). I have committed to play football and plan on running track for the Engineers.

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school? Math and Engineering.

National Honor Society; TSA (Technology Student Association); Football and Track.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I will have graduated from MIT and would love to be working my way into the tech industry where I can contribute towards world-class innovation.

to mind: my former computer science teacher Mr. Eric Arnold. Before I met him, Denmark High School felt like just another school where I would go to classes to learn and school activities to be involved.

Mr. Arnold’s unique and positive approach to teaching has reemphasized my interest in computer science. More than just teaching me computer science for two years, he has also been the Denmark High School FBLA adviser, my Georgia FBLA State Officer Adviser, and more recently a sponsor for my CS Club. His support in FBLA and many other extracurriculars has been fundamental to my success at Denmark High School.

Of course, there are many others who I’ve met throughout my high school years who have shaped me into the person I am today. The most influential of these individuals being my parents and my sister. My family has constantly pushed me and helped me grow into the person I am today.

Tell me a little bit about you!

I’ve lived in Alpharetta for pretty much my entire life and have been a part of Forsyth County Schools for 13 years.

A proud Denmark High School graduate, I’m part of the first graduating class from Denmark to have attended the school for all four years.

At Denmark I was part of the Computer Science pathway and heavily involved in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE), specifically FBLA. Outside of school, I was involved in research projects and a part of the Technologies and International Development Lab, a lab part of the Georgia Institute of Technology.

In my free time, I love hanging out with my friends and watching random TV shows – I’ve been known to jump from show to show without fully finishing a season.

Personally, I can say I’m curious, determined, detail-oriented, and interested in community service. I’m an advocate for STEM education for all; I have founded and lead my own 501(c)(3) n o n p r o f i t o r g a n i z a t i o n , Te a c h Technology Organization, teaching students of all ages programming and STEM concepts. I’ve taught almost 1,600 students to date and look forward to continuing this work. I hope to one day start my own startup, doing work that is societally and positively impactful.

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school?

My favorite classes in high school were STEM classes, specifically computer science and science classes. I really enjoyed the hands-on environment and labs I had a chance to complete in classes like AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics C. This hands-on approach was replicated in my AP Computer Science classes where there were out-of-the-box labs using programming concepts.

Were you part of any clubs?

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) was the club I was the most involved in. I joined in 8th grade and continued all four years of high school, serving as multiple officer positions. I

What will you miss most about your school?

Being the first graduating class to have spent all four years at Denmark, I think my experience and the experience of my fellow Denmark graduates is unique.

We’ve had the opportunity of creating new extracurricular, athletic, and academic traditions. The people at Denmark are what I’ll miss the most.

From the close friends I’ve cultivated, the teachers I’ve had, and the administration that have led us, Denmark has truly been a family that supports each other. also had the honor of serving as the Georgia FBLA State President this past year, leading 20,000 students in FBLA chapters across Georgia high schools and middle schools, and representing the organization on Capitol Hill.

When Denmark started 4 years ago, I also founded two clubs: Computer Science Club and Future of Forsyth Club. Computer Science Club was created to supplement students’ interest in the Computer Science pathway and technology-related fields, while I founded Future of Forsyth to be one of Denmark’s first community service

clubs focused on activities to benefit the youth in Forsyth County. I served as the President and executive leadership for all four years for these two clubs.

I was also a part of honor societies and clubs such as National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Technical Honor Society, Beta Club, and served as a 2-year officer for Science National Honor Society as the Historian and then Vice President.

What are your plans after high school?

I will be attending Stanford University in the fall. I plan to complete a dual degree in Computer Science and Economics.

Who was your greatest influence and why? Was there more than one?

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

An entrepreneur and innovator at heart, I’ve always dreamt of working on my own startup. Ten years from now is quite a long time, but I hope to be leading a successful technology startup transforming the medical field with artificial intelligence applications.

Pinecrest graduate interested in marketing Oscar Lynch Pinecrest Academy

Tell me a little bit about you!

I have been attending Pinecrest Academy since I was in Pre-K 3 so I am finishing up my 15th year at Pinecrest. I have played varsity basketball all 4 years of high school (being named All-County, All-Region, and All-state multiple times and finishing my career scoring 1,632 points) and I played varsity football my junior year (won a state championship).

I was part of the theatrical arts class for 3 years where I helped do backstage and tech for many shows and got to be casted in our final production of Newsies. I am the middle child of 7 kids. Both my parents work at Pinecrest (Dad: Dean of Students for K-8th and Varsity basketball coach and Mom: K-8th Principal’s Assistant). My 3 older siblings graduated from Pinecrest and my 3 younger siblings are still attending Pinecrest.

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school?

My favorite subjects were definitely math and English because it is a great feeling when you understand and do a math problem correctly and I like being able to express my thoughts and ideas through writings in English.

Were you part of any clubs?

I am the President of the Student Council. I am in the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and International Thespian Honor Society.

Who was your greatest influence and why? Was there more than one?

Yes, there were more than one but my dad was by far my greatest influence. He is an amazing role model and an even better dad.

He’s an extremely hard worker, is strong in his faith and makes sure that everyone he loves is taken care of.

He is loving, compassionate, and understanding and he helps all 7 of his kids journey their way through life. He is the reason that I am so passionate about basketball and he is also the reason I’ve continued to grow and strengthen my faith, because I have him as an

example to follow. He has stayed strong through much adversity and has continued to spread his joy and light to all those around him.

He is truly one of the most positive and joyful people I know and he is an honest man who strives to make everyone around him better. He is a true example of a servant leader and I truly hope that I can be an amazing father like him one day.

What will you miss most about your school?

I will miss the community/family aspect of Pinecrest and being able to express and grow in my faith.

Pinecrest’s community is full of many amazing people and being a part of the Pinecrest community feels like family to me.

One of my favorite things that I will miss most is being able to walk into the lunch room of all of the little kids in the elementary school, and them screaming and shouting my name because they know who I am either from me coaching them in rec basketball, them watching me play in a varsity game, or them just knowing that I am Mr. Lynch’s son.

I have been blessed to be able to express my faith and have had the opportunity to deepen my faith at Pinecrest.

I have been on multiple Mission Trips that have allowed me to serve others and live and spread the light of Christ.

The Pinecrest family has definitely helped shape me into the man I am today and I will be taking many valuable lessons with me as I embark on the next chapter of my life.

What are your plans after high school?

I will be attending Georgia College (GCSU) where I will continue my academic and basketball career and plan to major in marketing.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

When I am 28 I can see myself being married and starting a family and having a job that I enjoy doing. I’m not too focused on that far into the future but I pray that God guides me down the right path and leads me to being the best man I can be.

I know at the end of the day God has a plan in store for me and it is better than anything me or anyone else can ever imagine.

Lambert valedictorian excels in biotechnology, life Samiksha Gaherwar Lambert High School

Tell me a little bit about you!

My name is Samiksha, and I’ll be graduating valedictorian of my class this year at Lambert High School. I’ve pretty much grown up in Forsyth and am proud to call it home.

In my free-time, I enjoy teaching dance, spending time with my younger brother, and interning at NASA Langley Research Center. I also love pageantry, writing poetry, and screaming at the TV as the Falcons lose yet another lead.

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school?

Biotechnology! I love that Lambert offers the opportunity to explore niche and nontraditional fields and even do our own explorations. For the past two years, I’ve been working on projects related to an invasive Georgian spider species, and it’s been so cool doing hands-on research (except when cut-up spider legs got tangled in my hair.

That was traumatizing.)

Were you part of any clubs?

I loved serving as an officer for our Future Business Leaders of America, Model UN, EKAL Vidyalaya, and Speech and Debate chapters. I also enjoyed being involved in Student Government and play-

ing on the varsity Flag Football team.

Who was your greatest influence and why? Was there more than one?

My parents! Both of them struggled through poverty and immigrated to America to give me the opportunities that I’ve had.

They’ve taught me that my impact is measured in the lives that I touch and communities that I better, and I can only hope to be half the human beings they are one day.

What will you miss most about your school?

How we’re a family. Dr. Davison’s warm greeting, that hilarious lab table in science, the crazy class discussions in English, exchanging compliments with a random girl in the restroom, Coach Ferrer’s hallway fist bump, seeing my underclassman friends at lunch. Lambert is one big community, and you can’t find that anywhere else.

What are your plans after high school?

I plan to attend Princeton University in the fall (a downgrade from Lambert).

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I’m not sure where life will carry me, but I hope to one day be back in Forsyth, making an impact!

David Adesina North Forsyth High School Tell me a little bit about you!

While in high school, I spent time running track and playing football. I am appreciative of the roles I have held as Class President, a BSU Co-founder, and more. Contemplating and discussing complex ideas is hobby of mine.

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school?

Science classes were typically a favorite of mine- Especially AP Physics 1.

Were you part of any clubs?

Some of the clubs that I was involved in the most were the Black Student Union, Mock Trial, and HOSA, along with others.

Who was your greatest influence and why? Was there more than one?

A major influence of mine is Marcus Aurelius due to his immense self discipline and character.

What will you miss most about your school?

I will miss a school culture that encouraged students to take lead which was made possible due to the relationship between students, administration, and staff.

What are your plans after high school?

After graduation, I will be attending Brown University concentrating in neuroscience.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I hope to partake in research in regenerative medicine.

I am an aspiring physician and philanthropist and enjoy solving problems in whichever way possible.

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school?

My favorite subjects in school are psychology, physics, chemistry, and calculus.

Were you part of any clubs?

I enjoyed founding the Black Student Union at North Forsyth along with my twin and was apart of science ambassador and HOSA. Who was your greatest influence and why? Was there more than one?

My greatest influence has to be my family!

They shaped me into who I am today, how I see the world today, and how I can have an influence on the world tomorrow.

What will you miss most about your school?

What I will miss the most from high school is the atmosphere. The waves of hormonerushing adolescence trying to figure their way in society while learning and growing with each other has been a very rewarding challenge that has brought me the most unexpected and satisfying relationships with peers and faculty.

What are your plans after high school?

After high school I will be going to Emory to major in neuroscience and behavioral biology while doing research on the pre-med track.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I see myself in a training for a medical specialty along the lines of neurosurgery or orthopedic surgery.

South grad continuing focus on mental health awareness Kira Young South Forsyth High School I have always had a passion for Mental Health awareness. I developed my own website and campaign centered around it.

The Power of Okay covers an array of topics, including information about specific mental illnesses, self-help book reviews, interviews with professionals, ways to take action, and wellness advice.

I created The Power of Okay with the fundamental goal of spreading mental health awareness, but it developed into much more. We initiated Operation Positivity which allowed students to create flyers and social media posts spreading positivity and awareness.

Beyond just a website and campaign I have pursued wellness by obtaining three yoga teaching certifications.

I intern at the Forsyth County Board of Education in Student Support under the Wellness/Mental Health Coordinator - Attend meetings and gather resources for the Total Wellness Collaborative; wrote sections of the monthly wellness newsletter; created wellness resources for schools across the county I work as a Barista at Starbucks.

I play several instruments and I love to sing.

My favorite subjects in high school are social studies and science courses.

Leadership: • FCS CTAE District Advisory Council 21-22 Participate in council meetings; providing feedback on CTAE pathways & CTSOs, Analyzing data and trends

West graduate plans to help those in need through medicine Lauren Trombino West Forsyth High School Tell me a little bit about you!

During my time in high school, I was not only involved at West, but also in my community. Starting off with athletics, I was on the varsity swim team for four years, and swam at the state level each year.

During my senior year, I was also elected as a swim team captain.

My senior year was also the year I decided to try out for the girls golf team. It was such a fun experience getting to meet new people and learn a new sport!

At school I was also heavily involved in clubs. The club that had the most impact on my personal growth was FCCLA. I served as a state officer during my senior year, holding the position of Vice President of Community Service.

I had the honor to plan community service events for 22,000 Georgia FCCLA members to take part in. Last September, I was able to plan a charity walk to benefit the Make a Wish organization.

Then in March, I planned a bingo night to raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. When I am not at school or giving back to the community, you can most likely find me at the gym, baking new sweet treats, hanging out with my friends and family, or spending time at the lake!

What was your favorite subject(s) in high school?

Ever since I was young, I have had a love of science. I would say that my favorite science class I took in high school was human anatomy. Within this class, I learned fascinating material. I took human anatomy my junior year and enjoyed it so much that I decided to lab aid for a human anatomy class my senior year.

Human anatomy was also the class that encouraged my interest to pursue a career in the medical field.

Were you part of any clubs?

In high school, I was apart of many

clubs. I was apart of three national honors societies; national honors society, national technical honors society, and science national honors society. I also was a member of BETA for three years.

I was an active competitor in DECA for two years and advanced to ICDC both years. I also was involved in our schools student government association.

I held a leadership position in FCCLA serving as the state Vice President of Community Service.

Who was your greatest influence and why? Was there more than one?

My greatest influencer is my dad. My whole life my dad has been there to not only encourage me, but help me to become the best version of myself. He was always there to help me with math

when I was confused and was there at my swim meets cheering from the stands.

I look up to my dad because he is the strongest person I know and can do anything he puts his mind too.

What will you miss most about your school?

The part I will miss most about high school is the connections I have made with others. The friends I have made throughout high school will forever have a special place in my heart.

They truly have made high school an amazing experience for me and I am blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing individuals.

There were also several teachers who have become like a second family to me.

They have had a huge impact on my

learning and on the person who I am today. Thank you West for giving me these amazing people :) What are your plans after high school?

After high school I will be attending Auburn University, majoring in psychology on a pre-medical track. I am so excited to further my academic career. I hope to one day become a surgeon to help those in need.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years from now I can see myself completing my residency at a hospital.

Further down the road from that, I could see myself opening my own surgical practice and advancing the field of medicine.
