Gold Rush Days are always held the third full weekend in October. Over 200,000 come to see fall colors peaking and celebrate Dahlonega’s 1828 discovery of gold. More than 300 art and craft exhibitors and food vendors gather around the Public Square and Historic District in support of this annual event.

The Gold Rush Days Festival has been voted one of the Top 20 Events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.

The start/finish line will be located on West Main Street across from the famous Historic Holly Theatre.

On Sept. 25 in Georgia’s Premier Cycling Venue, the Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty boasts many of the same roads and mountain climbs as the elite Tour de Georgia. Come ride the ride of the pros!

by Northside Hospital and Southern Outdoor Cinema. Concessions will be available for purchase at the event.

The Moonshine Festival explores Dawson County’s history during the Prohibition era and the Great Depression of the 1930s when liquor was illegal and when running moonshine through the foothills of the Northeast Georgia Mountains was a way of life.

Visit an old moonshine still, the new legal moonshine distillery and listen to stories from both the “Trippers” and “Revenuers.” Crafts, food, and entertainment begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday on the square in Dawsonville. Parade begins at 9 a.m. There will be a car show lining the streets, including vintage race cars and their drivers.

All proceeds go to help needy children in Dawson County.
