Celebrations On a bright autumn day, the Catawba Queen sailed out of Queen’s Landing for a 2-hour Lake Norman cruise with all aboard celebrating a milestone birthday for Allen Hauser of Cornelius with top-notch food, drinks, scenery, and some rockin’ oldie tunes! Don Thompson

Happy birthday to Don Thompson, who celebrated turning 77 while at the lake. Don was a school teacher in Wisconsin for 45 years, and now he and his wife Linda split time between Lake Norman and Wisconsin. On fall and winter Sundays, when they’re not traveling the world on cycling trips or exploring National Parks, you can probably find them at Duckworth’s watching the Packers lose.
