THE MOVE

Jenna Anderson

Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jenna Anderson moved to WinstonSalem in 2017 to become the first apprentice at the UNCSA Dance Costume Shop. She concurrently worked as an opening barista under the nickname of “Tutu” and was magnetized to the passion, energy and pride that her customers had for the city. Jenna became a full-time student at UNCSA in 2018 and graduated with a major in Costume Design & Technology and a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship. During her senior year, the Winston-Salem Journal featured her as the “Queen of Cold Calls” after she cold called the opportunity to make a custom ballet tutu for a principal dancer of the Royal Ballet, Yasmine Naghdi. Jenna is now an entrepreneur and CEO of Jenna Sais Quoi (a name created by coffee regular Deb Klaus), an atelier specializing in custom clothing, costumes and apparel manufacturing. She was invited to be a featured speaker at Tedx WakeForestU in February 2023 to share about her entrepreneurial journey and life story. When she’s not editing business plans at Camino Bakery or working on a commission, you can find her at the piano playing “Sugar Plum Pas de Deux” or chilling out at Incendiary Brewing Company waiting for a “chugga wugga” train to come by and blow the whistle.
