the publisher perspective
from FW July 2023
by Forsyth Mags
It’s here! My favorite season of the year is in full swing. Sunsets that aren’t til 9pm, lake time, beach walks, pool parties, flex Fridays and a more relaxed schedule are just a few reasons why I love summertime so much. I hope you are reading this issue pool side (or maybe you are at the lake or the beach). If you happen to be at Lake Norman, grab a copy of our newest magazine while you’re there! LKN Magazine is the most recent addition to the Forsyth Magazines family, and it has already been so well received by the Lake Norman community. We couldn’t be prouder of Keela!
We’re thrilled to feature the owner of the Barn on Country Club on our cover this month. Renee and her husband, Mark, (who also happen to be my best friend’s stepmom and dad) have created quite the retail experience. From gorgeous custom made tables to furniture painting classes and antique signs – they’ve got a HUGE store with something for everyone. You can read all about this gem of a store on PAGE 44

You know I want you to read this issue cover to cover, but I want to share a few highlights from our July issue:
- My mom and I had the honor of hearing Ray Singleton speak recently and immediately knew we had to run an article telling his story. Ray is a shining beam of positivity despite extremely difficult circumstances. Read all about Ray and his lovely wife on PAGE 28
- The Forsyth Mags Foodie team visited Ryan’s restaurant this month and, oh boy, we had quite the treat. I’ll wait while you pull up your Open Table app to make your reservation. Check out the full review and amazing photos on PAGE 62
- PAGE 18 has a pineapple mint mojito mocktail recipe, and it looks so incredibly refreshing – I can’t wait to try it.

This past month, I had the pleasure of attending the most stunning wedding!
Congratulations to Morgan and Deep Patel! Morgan is a lifelong family friend and also Robin Bralley’s daughter (Robin is the former publisher of Forsyth Family). This wedding weekend celebrated two families and two cultures. Stay tuned for an article in the August issue of Forsyth Family all about this spectacular weekend!
