REGISTRATION INFORMATION

• Registration is first come, first served

• Full payment is due at the time of registration

• Payment options are cash, personal check, money order or MasterCard/Visa

• An additional 20% will be added to all out-of-county resident activity registrations

• Please notify us of any accommodations needed at the time of registration or at least 10 days in advance of the program start date

• A $2 or 2.95% convenience fee, whichever is greater, will be added to all credit/debit card transactions

REFUND/TRANSFER POLICY

To request a refund, please visit parks.forsythco.com A full refund will be issued for cancellations made by the Parks & Recreation Department. Transfers/reservation changes follow the same guidelines as refunds.

A 10% administrative fee will be added to all refund requests

Class: A refund will be issued for requests received at least 10 full business days prior to the first class date. Subsequently, a 50% refund will be issued for requests received at least 5 full business days before the start of class. No refunds thereafter.

Camp: A refund will be issued for requests received at least 10 full business days prior to the camp start date Subsequently, a 50% refund will be issued for requests received at least 5 full business days before the start of camp. No refunds thereafter.

Recreation Center Pass: A refund or upgrade will be issued for requests received within 10 full business days of purchase. No refunds thereafter.

Athletic Leagues: Youth athletic league refund deadlines will be listed in the activity registration information per sport.; no refund thereafter. Refunds will not issued for adult leagues.

Facility Rental: For community buildings, pavilions, and recreation center facilities, a refund will be issued for requests received at least 10 full business days prior to the rental date. No refunds thereafter. For all other rental types, please check the rental agreement

Campgrounds: Refunds will be issued for requests received at least 2 days prior to the reservation date. No refunds thereafter.

Kids can build strength, flexibility, and coordination while learning new skills on the mat and apparatus at our gymnastics camps With expert instruction and confidence-building activities, campers of all levels can flip, tumble, and grow.

TENNIS CAMPS

Tennis camps serve up fun and skill-building for all levels, with Hot Shots (ages 5–7) introducing the basics through games and activities, and Junior Rec (ages 8–15) focusing on technique, match play, and confidence on the court Age groups and locations vary.

LITTLE EXPLORERS CAMPS

Campers ages 4–5 will explore the diverse environment of Sawnee Mountain Preserve through imaginative and hands-on activities like nature hikes, storytelling, art, and science experiments In a safe and engaging setting, they’ll build curiosity and appreciation for ecosystems while learning to observe, question, and connect with the natural world.

EXPLORER CAMPS

Campers ages 6–8 will embark on advetures like hiking, crafts, rock and tree climbing, zip-lining, and environmental education, all led by trained counselors in a safe and creative setting Both Outdoor Explorers and Nature Navigators offer the same experiences in different schedules, with one off-site field trip included each week (excluding Spring/Fall Break Camps)

YOUNG ADVENTURER CAMPS

This adventure nature camp for ages 9–11 offers exciting daily activities like paddling, climbing, hiking, and team games that build physical skills, teamwork, and a love for the outdoors. Guided by trained instructors, campers also learn problem-solving, risk assessment, and wilderness safety while exploring new locations each day.

ADVENTURER CAMPS

Campers ages 12–15 will elevate their outdoor experiences with thrilling activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, rafting, mountain biking, and zip-lining Led by professional instructors, they’ll enjoy a safe, fun, and enriching week filled with adventure and skill-building challenges.

SCHOOL BREAK CAMPS

Campers at Sawnee Mountain Preserve will enjoy exciting outdoor adventures like tree climbing, zip lining, hiking, and survival skills in a safe and enriching environment These camps are available on early release days and school holiday breaks, offering fun-filled exploration of nature

YOUTH ART

Students will improve drawing and painting skills while working on themebased projects as well as specific assignments based on skill level and personal interest Please wear old clothing or bring an apron, many of the paints we use will permanently stain clothing

KIDCREATE STUDIO

Participants will create fridge-worthy masterpieces, learn art concepts and experiment with many different art materials. Get ready for a wild ride of creativity, messy fun, and endless wonders. Let your imagination roam free and dive into a world where play know no bounds

HANDBUILDING CLAY

Have fun exploring everything you can do with clay without the use of a potter's wheel. Hand building classes teach slab, coil, pinch pots, extruded forms, and glazing techniques All levels welcome

MIXED CLAY

All levels are welcome! Hand building teaches slab, coil, pinch pots, extruded forms and glazing techniques Wheel techniques can also be introduced to interested students.

WHEEL CLASSES

Learn how to use a potter's wheel and how to glaze. Open studio schedule is available after registration. All levels welcome.

DANCE PROGRAMS DANCE PROGRAMS

TWINKLING TOES DANCE

Each class will be lead through fun warm ups, teach basic ballet steps and cute routines to age appropriate songs Beginner Combo (ages 3-5) dancers will learn the basic elements of Ballet along with pre-tap elements Dance Combo class (ages 6-8) will build a solid foundation in Ballet by learning techniques and terminology.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT AND DANCE

A premier on-site dance instruction company that provides professional quality dance programs for ages 3-5 (pre-ballet) and 4-8 (tap-ballet). The school year program is held from August to April/May with a recital in May. There are no additional fees for recitals

BALLROOM DANCE

Ballroom I/II: Learning the fundamentals and the most versatile patterns that will help you quickly gain comfort and ease in dances like Waltz, Tango, Swing, and Cha Cha.

Ballroom All Level: Geared toward developing the skills of each dancer, whether beginner or advanced, with more diverse patterns.

LINE DANCE

In this class participants age 18+ will learn the essentials of line dance and get movin’ and groovin’ to all kinds of rhythms including Country, R&B, Top 40, Oldies, Hip Hop and Latin.

THE SOCIAL

This class is designed to build confidence for you social dancing, be it a dance social, a wedding reception, or even just out and about Your teacher will work with students 18+ to hone their abilities to lead and follow multiple styles of partner dancing using a social dance format

SENIOR LINE DANCE

This class is designed for dancers age 50+ who are beginners as well those with more experience. Learn new dances and routines while having fun!

SENIOR TAP DANCE

Perfect for both beginners and experienced dancers age 50+, this class offers a fun way to learn new steps and routines! Tap shoes are recommended.

SWING DANCE

Swing Dancing I/II: This class covers multiple styles of swing and includes Jitterbug, East Coast Swing, and West Coast Swing.

Swing Dancing All Levels: Continuing with your swing dance experience, participants will develop more complex concepts and patterns for those more experienced; those just beginning will continue to build the foundations of swing dancing

GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS

TODDLER & ME

Children ages 1.5 - 4 will tumble, jump, balance, and swing in an open format class designed to build motor skills and social skills, all under the supervision of a parent or caregiver. Siblings not registered are not permitted on the class floor.

JUNIOR GYMNASTICS

Children ages 3 - 5 will tumble, jump, balance, and swing in a structured, successoriented class grouped by age and skill level. As students master skills, they progress to new and more challenging activities.

GYMNASTICS K+

Children age 5 and older (as of September 1, 2025) will experience gymnastics in a fun, safe, and structured environment. Through a variety of drills gymnasts will learn gymnastics basics in a positive oriented class. ADVANCED/TEAM

Through drills and practice, gymnasts age 5+ will master more difficult skills on a variety of apparatus and learn combinations and routines. Leotards are required. Looking to advance into competitive gymnastics? Advanced gymnasts may request to complete a skills test to become part of the Forsyth Flyers team - additional fees apply.

Parents are asked to wait outside the classroom during class unless reg involved program, and all children must be age appropriate by the first da ns. There will be a parent observation day on the last day of each session for classes to showcase what your child has learned! Dress code is tucked in shirt with pants/shorts, unless otherwise noted.

CLOSE QUARTER SYSTEMIC JUJITSU

Close Quarter Systemic Ju-jitsu is a practical format of self-defense available to participants age 6-12 and 13+ that integrates the combination of strikes, blocking, kicks, joint locking, throws, nerve and pressure points strikes.

KUNG FU

Class will cover self-defense skills in single person forms, two-person drills and sophisticated fist and armament forms Participants age 5+ will improve muscle tone, strength, coordination and agility.

SEIBUKAN

Seibukan is a very athletic style of karate that uses punches and kicks to promote general body health, self defense, along with mental and physical discipline perfect for ages 8+.

TAI CHI

Tai Chi is an exercise system that uses slow, smooth body movements and has both physical and mental benefits. The practice of Tai Chi helps to lower blood pressure, relieve stress, strengthen the immune system, as well as improve muscle tone, flexibility, balance and coordination.

SWISH GIRLS BASKETBALL

This unique program will help young ladies ages 6-10 and 11-15 develop basketball skills in a fun, competitive environment that simulates and exaggerates game level pressure, yet encourages them to experiment and try new things. This is a great way to meet fellow pickleball players in a fun, competitive environment. Each league targets a different demographic and/or skill level, so you should only sign up for one night. League format and play times may vary. Players should be able to sustain a rally and know the rules & scoring. If you are just starting out in pickleball we suggest coming to "open play" instead or visiting the "Instructional Pickleball Class". Class options for ages 10-13, 14-17 and 18+

INSTRUCTIONAL PICKLEBALL CLASS

Learn the basic skills of pickleball or improve your game with a more advanced class in a fun indoor environment! The instructor teaches the basics of the game, scoring, and the importance of the area known as - the kitchen. Advanced classes focus on skills, tactics and strategies to take your game to the next level. Wear your workout clothes and court shoes. We provide the paddles, balls, instruction, and fun! Our Tennis 101 program is for players age 16 and up, new to tennis or returning to the sport after some time and will focus on basic strokes and fundamentals! Tennis 201 is the next step for aspiring tennis players age 16 and up, who wish to continue to develop stroke mechanics and work on getting the ball in to play This program will also introduce participants to match play strategy Participants need to provide their own racket

USTA/ALTA DRILLS

Beginner Drills - Instruction for beginner players wanting to learn a new sport and for those wishing to further their skills This class emphasizes core tennis fundamentals to prepare you for playing flex leagues or USTA/ALTA league tennis Repetition and point play scenarios build skills and confidence for match play Alta groups may join as a team

Intermediate Drills - Fast-paced, competitive drills and instruction for the intermediate player with a USTA rating of 3.0 to 3.5. The focus is on developing consistency, shot variety, improved court coverage and more aggressive net play. Alta groups may join as a team as well.

First aid classes at Sawnee Mountain Preserve cover Adult First Aid and CPR AED for adults, children, and infants. Participants must be at least 11 years old to register. FLORAL

DESIGN

Participants will learn the basics of floral design and assemble a fresh floral arrangement to take home This is a therapeutic recreation program designed for participants with special needs who are ages 13 and older and require minimal assistance.

FUN AROUND FORSYTH

A monthly program designed for teenagers and adults and will offer opportunities to participate in special events held in or around Forsyth County. More details regarding meeting locations and/or transportation will be provided after registration.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT

This program will give girls age 16+ with disabilities a chance to develop and improve social and self-care skills while involved in age-appropriate activities

LIFE SKILLS BOOTCAMP

An 8-week program designed for our participants with developmental disabilities to develop essential life skills. This interactive program provides participants with practical tools to increase independence and confidence in daily life

MONDAY NIGHT SPORTS

FRIDAY NIGHT BOWLING

A monthly bowling program held on the third Friday of the month at Stars & Strikes for participants age 8+. Cost includes bowling, shoes, pizza, and drinks.

DREAM RUNNERS

A weekly special needs walking/running group that meets at the Fowler Park Track Each participant is matched with a Program Buddy volunteer as a walking/running partner This program is offered in the spring and fall for ages 12+

HIKING

Let’s take a hike and explore different hiking trails around our area. The hikes will range from 1-2 miles starting with easy trails and working our way up to more moderate trails

PARENT’S NIGHT OUT

Drop your kids and go! This monthly program gives parents the chance to catch up on errands, get a workout in, or have a date night TR staff will provide a variety of activities including table games, open gym time, and a movie

This is an open gym program that will concentrate on two or three sports each month Sport will include Corn Hole, Pickle Ball, Bocce and Basketball. Participants must at least 12 years old and be independent enough to follow directions, understand and follow the rules of each sport

INTERMEDIATE WEIGHTLIFTING

An intermediate level weightlifting class Instructors will assist participants in designing an individualized workout plan concentrating on strength, flexibility and endurance. Workouts will include isolated muscle groups and circuit or pyramid weight training Depending on the skill level of the participant, there may be some free weight training sessions Participants will learn proper warm-up and cool-down exercises as well as weightlifting terminology (including reps, sets and rest intervals).
