Fair Oaks Preschool’s focus is on the social development of children ages three through five years old.

The four and five-year-old classes are based upon a nine-month curriculum designed to prepare a child for elementary school. Cooperation and sharing are emphasized in games, music and movement, arts and crafts, academics, and supervised free play throughout the year.

Children will benefit by developing their social skills through art, projects, stories, songs, games, and outside play. Children will also have the opportunity to develop their independence, selfhelp, and sharing skills and learn to follow directions. Our free-flow structure and developmentally-appropriate curriculum provide an environment where each unique child can learn and grow, and where parents can learn more about their children. Teachers are experienced instructors committed to offering your preschooler a positive experience and providing support for your child’s first school years.

CAMP FAIR OAKS "When summers HOT we make camp COOL" SUMMER CAMP Ages: 6-11 Fee: $333 (8a-5p) or $165 (9a-1p) Location: McMillan Center School is out, and when summer is HOT, we make camp COOL! Join Camp Fair Oaks for a summer FILLED with fun! At Camp Fair Oaks, campers will get to enjoy safe socialization, games, crafts, activities, and so much more! With new themes each week, your child is sure to make new friends, discover new interests, and have a great summer! CFO requires masks/proper face coverings. A fun, informative and effective introduction to playing guitar. Of all the instruments the guitar has captured the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life all over the world. You’ll need an acoustic guitar (6 strings) and make a commitment to play for at least 30 minutes a day.

Line dancing is a great way to exercise the mind and body, as well as to meet new friends! This class is graduated into 5 levels starting at “Absolute Beginner” (level 1) and graduating to the highest and most difficult level “Experienced Improver” (level 5). Students may choose two adjacent levels (1 hour of instruction) per class. Please wear appropriate shoes, no flip flops, heels or backless shoes. Tennis shoes ok with dance socks. Here is your chance to join in your toddler’s introduction to the world’s most popular sport. Participants will receive a volleyball, Skyhawks t-shirt, and play evaluation award at the conclusion of camp.

Experience the excitement of football with Skyhawks Flag Football Fueled by USA Football. Using equipment specifically designed for kids, it’s the Fun, camaraderie, water safety and outdoor education are our primary goals in these personal, small group classes . Kids learn through a variety of games, group activities & exploration for turtles, tadpoles and other critters.

“Sieze the Day” and leave your worries and anxieties behind you! This small group class is the easiest way for anyone- really- ANYONE to try kayaking. JR. NFL FLAG FOOTBALL

Jr. NFL Flag Football teaches boys and girls the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship, and teamwork through practices and league games. The goal of the program is to educate its participants in the game of football as well as teach skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the field. The majority of games will take place on Saturday mornings with team practices held during the week scheduled by the team coaches. All players will receive a reversible jersey. Season: 8/14-11/13

RENTAL PAGE FACILITY INFORMATION Are you looking for a space to host your next event? The Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District provides rental spaces for gatherings of many different sizes and types! INDOOR FACILITIES Currently, all indoor District facilities, except for park restrooms, remain closed to the public. Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse, Village Hall, and Arts & Crafts Building will be closed through January 2023 for renovations. SCHOLARSHIPS RACHEL ANNE GRAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS The Rachel Anne Gray scholarship was established in honor of Rachel Anne Gray who passed away September 2, 2012, at the age of 21. Rachel was a member of the Fair Oaks Youth Advisory Board, graduated from Bella Vista, received her degree from CSU, Sacramento, and was a valued member of the Fair Oaks Community. Scholarships in the amounts of $1,500-$250 are awarded annually to deserving high school seniors.

DON RALLS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM UP TO 80% OFF FOR ELIIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District helps make the benefits of recreation programs available to children (18 & younger) and seniors (62 & older) from low-income families. This program is available on a case-by-case basis. Eligible participants will receive up to an 80% discount on one District program/class upon the approved completion of an application and all appropriate criteria. BOARD OF DIRECTOR'S MEETINGS The FORPD Board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6 PM. Beginning June 2021 Board meetings will be held in a hybrid format - in-person at Meraki High School (10700 Fair Oaks Blvd) and via Zoom. All current CDC and local health guidance will be followed. Scheduled Meetings: 6/16/21 | 7/21/21 | 8/18/21 It is advised to contact the Administrative Office prior to attending, as Board meeting dates and times are subject to change. Village/Plaza Park – District staff is in discussions with the Fair Oaks Water District and PG&E concerning water and gas lines that travel through the parking lot in front of the Clubhouse. Until a resolution is reached, construction may be delayed. In addition, final permits for the project are still under review with Sacramento County. Demolition is still slated to begin in early summer. Jim Streng Park – the District is finalizing the last encroachment permit that is required before construction can commence. Staff expects construction to begin over the next few weeks (tentatively June 2021). La Vista fields – District staff is in discussions to enact a lease agreement with San Juan Unified School District in order to acquire property at SJUSD’s La Vista School site off of Bannister... Online Registration: Visit forpd.org to register online with Visa, MC or American Express. 2. Walk-In Registration: Fill out the registration form at the District Office, Monday-Friday 9am5:00pm. Cash, Check or Credit cards accepted. Checks should be made out to FORPD 3. Mail-In Registration: Accepted with a complete registration form and correct fees. Please do not mail cash. Mail registration to FORPD District Office 4. Drop-Box Registration: Accepted with a complete registration form and correct fees. Please do not drop cash. Drop-Box is located at the District office to the left of the front door for after-hours drop-off. 5. Phone-In Registration: Register over the phone for select events/programs/class. Must be in our system as a previous customer. Fax-In registration form with credit card # to 916-9669863. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The District reserves the right to cancel or modify any class and/or program. Classes may be canceled three (3) days prior to the start date if minimum enrollment is not met. 2. Resident/Non Resident: Residents are those who live within the Fair Oaks area. All others pay the non-resident fee (indicated by non res). 3. If paying at class, you may only pay with a check made out to FORPD or with a credit card. EMERGENCY REPORTING IN YOUR PARK, DIAL 9-1-1 For non-emergencies regarding park security vandalism suspicious persons, or suspicious activities in your parks, call the District office at 916-966-1036 Monday through Friday during business hours. After business hours or on weekends, call 916-240-3651. If you need immediate law enforcement assistance or to report illegal activity, please call the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.

REFUND POLICY 1. A full refund will be given if the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District cancels the program or for medical reasons. 2. The online convenience fee is non-refundable. 3. No refund will be issued after the class or program has had its second meeting. 4. All refund requests will be approved or denied by the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District. All refund checks will be processed through the County of Sacramento and mailed to you within 4-6 weeks. 5. The Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District reserves the right to adjust the refund policy, depending upon the circumstances and the severity of the situation. All refunds are required to submit a refund/transfer request form to be approved by District Staff. 6. The policy does not apply to events and vendors. Email events@forpd.org for clarification.
