FAIR OAKS PRESCHOOL 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR Fair Oaks Preschool’s focus is on the social development of children ages three and a half through five years old. Children will benefit by developing their social skills through art, projects, stories, songs, games, and outside play. Children will also have the opportunity to develop their independence, selfhelp, and sharing skills and learn to follow directions. Our free-flow structure and developmentally appropriate curriculum provide an environment where each unique child can learn and grow, and where parents can learn more about their children. Teachers are experienced instructors committed to offering your preschooler a positive experience and providing support for your child’s first school years. Fair Oaks Preschool is a parent participation run program.

Do you have a little guy or gal that is eager to play a team sport, but just a little too young to participate in traditional club soccer? If so, this program is perfect for you! This program is also ideal for players on the cusp of rec soccer (5 years old) whose parents aren't yet ready to make the time commitment involved with traditional club soccer.

Training sessions are fast-paced, engaging, and appropriately challenging. Our curriculum uses fun games and activities to introduce and refine core soccer skills. In November 2018 residents of Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District (FORPD) passed Measure J, a $26.9 Million Dollar General Obligation Bond which will help fund major projects that will improve and expand the services provided by FORPD.

COMMUNITY UPDATE Village / Plaza Renovations Construction has begun in the village! As of Monday the 20th of June, fencing has been erected throughout the project site, tree protection has been provided around all the remaining trees, and clearing & grubbing has commenced. You’ve likely noticed the changing face of the park as Bobo Construction clears away the old and prepares for the new throughout the project site. Grading is occurring throughout, though Plaza Park is waiting for an electrical service to be removed prior to commencing any deep work. At this point in construction, in order to keep ahead of the upcoming rainy season, the District has closed some sections of parking for construction activities. The plan is to complete those sections and re-open the parking spaces prior to the completion of the overall project; the District hopes to continue to provide access to the amenities throughout the village for all of the residents of Fair Oaks.

Danielle will be responsible for the programs and services in the new and renovated facilities in Village/Plaza Park as well as creating new opportunities for Art Programs throughout the District.

Danielle is an accomplished, creative, and experienced arts management professional who brings over fifteen years of experience leading hands-on community-driven arts programming, including art education embedded in California Visual and Performing Arts Standards (VAPA), performing arts – theatre, music and dance, visual arts – painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and digital, artistic workshops, and public art projects. She has effectively launched new programs that have been identified as models for innovation, sustainability, and creatively fueling the economy. In addition, her service on state-wide arts advocacy boards along with presentations at national conventions such as ArtPlace America and Farm to Fork and various regional economic development groups, help to further the voice of the creative economy and placemaking strategies through an artistic lens.

With a professional background in marketing and public relations, Whitmore endeavors to foster the relationships between artists and the community while strengthening the organization's partnerships with key stakeholders, including foundations, businesses, and education. Danielle pursues vocal music, performing with various ensemble vocal groups from acapella to jazz. Her most promising project to date is her two daughters – now self-sustaining and relatively well-behaved women. Please join us in welcoming Danielle to the Fair Oaks Community.

FIVE WAYS TO REGISTER Don’t risk a class or league getting canceled due to low enrollment. Register today! 1. Online Registration: Visit forpd.org to register online with Visa, MC, or American Express. 2. Walk-in Registration: Fill out the registration form at the District Office, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Cash, Check, or Credit cards accepted. Checks should be made out to FORPD 3. Mail-In Registration: Accepted with a complete registration form and correct fees. Please do not mail cash. Mail registration to FORPD District Office 4. Drop-box Registration: Accepted with a complete registration form and correct fees. Please do not drop cash. Drop-box is located at the District Office to the left of the front door for after-hours drop-off. 5. Phone-in Registration: Register over the phone for select events/programs/classes. Must be in our system as a previous customer.

GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The District reserves the right to cancel or modify any class and/or program. Classes may be canceled three (3) days prior to the start date if minimum enrollment is not met. 2. Resident/Non-Resident: Residents are those who live within the Fair Oaks area. Residents receive a resident discount in most, but not all programs and classes. 3. If paying at class, you may only pay with a check made out to FORPD or with a credit card.

EMERGENCY REPORTING IN YOUR PARK, DIAL 9-1-1 For non-emergencies regarding park security, vandalism, suspicious persons, or suspicious activities in your parks, call the District Office at 916-966-1036 Monday through Friday during business hours. After business hours or on weekends, call 916-240-3651. If you need immediate law enforcement assistance or to report illegal activity, please call the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.

REFUND POLICY 1. A full refund will be given if the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District cancels the program or for medical reasons. 2. The online convenience fee is non-refundable. 3. No refund will be issued after the class or program has had its second meeting. 4. All refund requests will be approved or denied by the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District. All refund checks will be processed through the County of Sacramento and mailed to you within 4-6 weeks. 5. The Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District reserves the right to adjust the refund policy, depending upon the circumstances and the severity of the situation. All refunds are required to submit a refund/transfer request form to be approved by District Staff. 6. The policy does not apply to events and vendors. Email events@forpd.org for clarification.

Agreement, Waivers, & Release Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District

In consideration for being permitted by the District to participate in the above-referenced activity, I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims for damages for personal injury, death, or property damage which I may have, or which may hereafter accrue to me, as a result of participation in said activity. This release is intended to discharge in advance the District (including its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents) from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way in my participation in said activity, even thought that liability may arise out of active or passive negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above. It is further agreed that this waiver, release, and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns and that I shall indemnify and hold the District (including its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents) free and harmless from any loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense which may arise out of or connected in any way with my participation in said activity.
