HISTORY OF THE
Fair Oaks Chickens The Fair Oaks Chicken Festival is a celebration of our rural history and present village atmosphere. The Village of Fair Oaks, colonized around 1895, was home to orange and citrus groves as well as olive orchards and assorted farm animals and, without a doubt, chickens were among them. Today the Fair Oaks chickens enjoy the freedom and hospitality of the village they call home. They, along with their human counterparts, attend the Thursday night summer Concerts in the Park series and can be found crowing their appreciation for a good performance at Comedy Under the Stars. They gather in front of the local pub and other village businesses and even drop in for a bite to eat. They have been the subject of television and radio stories as well as local newspaper and magazine articles. In short, they are a part of our history and lore and love ‘em or curse ‘em they are a very real part of everyday life in the village they call home. The 2021 & 2022 Fair Oaks Chicken Festivals will be re-located to Fair Oaks Park as the Village undergoes renovations. We'll see everyone back in the Village in 2023!

My role is to come to events, programs, classes, and meetings to mingle with the community and enjoy the beautiful parks. My goal is to keep everyone smiling and take lots of pictures! Great Chicken
Traditional or unique, make your chicken the GREATEST in town. Each entry will receive one bare wooden chicken to decorate. All Great Chickens will be displayed at the Chicken Festival Bawk Party (Wednesday, September 15 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the Village of Fair Oaks) for public voting. The Greatest Chicken (Best of Show) will be revealed at the main event in Fair Oaks Park on the 18th. Winner will receive a gift basket and entry into next year's contest. Registration for this contest has now closed. Don't forget to vote at the event!
Do you have what it takes to be named the 2021 Fair Oaks Chicken Festival Cluck n’ Crow Champion? CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT Join us for an exciting, new cornhole tournament at the Festival! There will be two divisions to accommodate all skill levels and multiple chances to play and have tons of fun guaranteed! EVENT DETAILS Bring your own partner & bring your own bags! Check-In starts at 1:00 pm Tournament starts at 2:00 pm REGISTRATION | $40 PER TEAM Divisions: Backyard/Novice: players who are new to the game or play only in their backyard. Advanced/Competitive: players with experience playing cornhole in a competitive environment. VENDOR BOOTHS Enjoy shopping and gathering of information from dozens of craft, company and non-profit vendors. Many vendors will also host an online Marketplace where you can shop in advance of the festival and from the comfort of your own home! In Person (Fair Oaks Park) from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Online Marketplace opens Wednesday, September 15th and will close Wednesday, September 22nd.
