GET READY TO BAWK what to look forward to at the fair oaks chicken festival The feathers will be flying when the 21st Annual Fair Oaks Chicken Festival returns to Fair Oaks Park on Saturday, September 19, from 12:00–6:00 p.m. This free community celebration packs six hours with live music, great food, shopping, family activities, friendly competition and plenty of reasons to get egg-cited! New for 2026 are two competitions giving festival-goers even more ways to join the fun. Test your luck in the Egg Drop Competition, where 100 wooden eggs will be dropped from more than 40 feet toward a giant target below. Or put your skills to the test in the new Disc Golf Putting Competition for a chance to win cash and prizes. Festival favorites are back, too! Catch the legendary Cluck n' Crow Contest, check out the creativity on display in the Great Chicken Decorating Contest, or grab a partner and compete in the Cornhole Tournament. Live music will fill the park throughout the afternoon. The Main Stage features All Hat No Cattle band from 12:30–3:00 p.m. followed by Sunset River band from 3:30–6:00 p.m. The Kid's Park Stage will also feature teen bands, storytime, Rocky's Dance Party and more. Come hungry! The Feed Court, hosted by SactoMoFo, will feature a variety of food trucks serving festival favorites and special chicken-inspired creations. Adults can stop by the Watering Hole, operated by the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks, for beer and wine. Families can explore the FREE Community Kid's Zone, packed with activity booths, carnival games, a petting farm, coloring wall and entertainment. Looking for even more excitement? Head to the Adventure Zone for inflatables, EuroBungee and Waterballerz, with inflatable wristband sales benefiting the Bella Vista Band Boosters. Throughout the day, shop and explore dozens of craft, business and nonprofit vendors, and keep an eye out for Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District's favorite feathered celebrity, Rocky the Rooster. Catch him strutting around the festival or stop by Rocky's Meet & Greet for a photo. Chicken hats, feathers and poultry-inspired outfits are encouraged! With new competitions, longtime traditions, live entertainment, great food and family fun around every corner, there's plenty to crow about at this year's Fair Oaks Chicken Festival!

ALL HAT NO CATTLE COUNTRY - 80's - current hits 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM All Hat No Cattle is a Sacramento-based country band mixing original songs with crowd-pleasing covers. Their sound draws from legends like Johnny Cash and George Strait through ’90s icons like Shania Twain to modern artists such as Lainey Wilson and Zach Bryan. With a lively stage presence and a growing catalog, they keep audiences singing long after the show ends.

SUNSET RIVER BAND HIGH END ROCK PARTY 3:30PM - 6:00pm Sunset River is known for their electrifying live performances that leave the audience wanting more. The band brings an unmatched level of energy and passion to the stage, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone in the crowd. Cock-a-doodle-doo! Strut on over to the 12th Annual Cluck N’ Crow Contest, presented by the Kiwanis Club of Orangevale – Fair Oaks. Watch as contestants cluck, crow, strut, and peck their way across the stage in a hilarious showdown to be crowned the 2026 Fair Oaks Chicken Festival Cluck N’ Crow Champion! Kid’s Cluck n’ Crow (ages 5-12) 2:00PM | Community Kid’s Zone Stage Cluck n’ Crow (ages 13+) 3:00 PM | Chickenstock Main Stage Think you’ve got what it takes to win? Each contest is limited to 10 participants, so be sure to register in advance! A $5 registration fee applies. Prizes will be awarded to the top performer in each age group.

Join us for an exciting cornhole tournament at the Festival! We will conduct roundrobin play to seed teams into either a competitive bracket or social bracket, plus a Knock Out Competition. Limited to 32 teams (64 players).

Join us for the inaugural event. Players compete by making putts from four distances, each successful putt earns points, and the highest total score wins.

The Fair Oaks Chicken Festival is more than just a day of fun. It’s also an opportunity for local nonprofits and community groups to connect with the community, raise funds, host activities, and share information about the important causes and programs they support. BELLA VISTA BAND BOOSTERS Rocky’s Adventure Zone (Inflatable Wristband Sales) Proceeds help with instrument repairs, competition fees, student scholarships, and other program needs for the BV music program. Did you know BV is home to the only marching band in SJUSD?

FAIR OAKS PRECHOOL Egg Drop Competition Money raised from the Egg Drop support school improvements, equipment and supply purchases, field trips, and other needs that enhance the preschool experience for our littlest chicks. FAIR OAKS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Disc Golf Putting Competition & Cornhole Tournament Registering for one of the two contests helps support promoting local businesses and community programs and events, including Best of Fair Oaks, Christmas in Fair Oaks, and Concerts in the Park. ROTARY CLUB OF FAIR OAKS Watering Hole (Beer & Wine Sales) Funds raised support Rotary’s community service efforts, including scholarships, classroom resources, and programs benefiting local youth and seniors. FAIR OAKS YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD (FOYAB) Watering Hole (Water Bottle Sales) Purchasing a bottle of water supports FOYAB, a youth leadership program, where teens give back through park cleanups, donation drives, volunteering, and other local service projects. Kiwanis service projects include toy and bike giveaways, backpack and school supply drives, pajama drives, and other community efforts and benefit families locally!

AN INTERVIEW WITH ROCKY THE ROOSTER

We caught up with Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District’s favorite feathered celebrity, Rocky the Rooster, as he gets ready for his favorite day of the year: the Fair Oaks Chicken Festival! Q: Rocky, tell us a little about yourself. ROCKY: Bawk-bawk! I’m Rocky the Rooster, official mascot of the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District and full-time professional fun finder. If something fun is happening in Fair Oaks, there’s a good chance I’ll be there! Q: We hear the Chicken Festival is a pretty big deal for you. ROCKY: A big deal?! It’s basically my Super Bowl! We’ve got the Cluck n’ Crow Contest, Great Chicken Decorating Contest, Egg Drop, cornhole, Shadow Glen Petting Farm and more. And have you SEEN how many people come dressed like me?! Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Q: What are you most excited about? ROCKY: Meeting my flock at Rocky’s Meet & Greet! I’ve been practicing my poses all year. Wing out. Beak up. Feathers fluffed.

The Festival will be held at Fair Oaks Park (11549 Fair Oaks Blvd) from 12PM-6PM.

Day of $15 Preferred Parking is available at Fair Oaks Park and FREE Parking is available at Fair Oaks Church. Please remember to park safely, legally, and respect the residents in neighboring areas!

For the safety of attendees and the animals, pets are not allowed at the event. Certified service animals are permitted, this does not include companion animals.

Water bottles, chairs and blankets are all allowed to be brought into the event. The following items are prohibited: coolers/ice chests, alcohol, weapons of any kind. All bags will be searched.

General admission and parking is free ($15 preferred parking available)! Certain activities have a fee attached: Kids Park Adventure Zone, Cornhole Tournament, Feed Court and Watering Hole, shopping Vendors, etc.
