Optimise the use of a 4th axis indexer with these Hyfore high precision ‘basics’ trunnion setup components. Hyfore can supply all components either ‘off the shelf’ for your 4th Axis CNC 180 or CNC 202 tables or bespoke versions to suit any indexer or application. ++ Hyfore basic packages are most frequently manual but we offer air and hydraulic options with up to 200 bar clamping forces - higher if necessary. ++ A plain plate can be machined to accommodate a vice or fixture in a permanent manner, whereas the grid plates offer a quick change solution for positioning a range of fixtures. ++ However, when returning for another repeat batch, the setup uses the same locations ensuring precise repetition yet greatly reducing setup times. ++ Grid plates are pre-drilled to enable bolt down or dowelling of the component clamping assembly into predetermined plate locations - but which are easily removed for the next task.

WHY A 4TH AXIS? Adding a 4th axis capability to a standard three axis milling machine creates probably the most productive innovation in the milling process.

It is cost effectively achieved by adding an indexer table that rotates the work from 0 - 360 degrees in relation to the verticle spindle. This enables full three-face machining, including continuous profile forms as required.

Rotary tables can be used in a range of applications, a popular application being the creation of regular grooves or holes in a workpiece.

By rotating the table, the operator is able to machine the workpiece on a 4th axis in addition to the 3 that a standard milling machine provides.

This process greatly reduces the amount of time that it takes to machine a component, removing time consuming manual repositioning to prevent inaccuracy and the time taken to manually reposition components.

The result is significant cost reduction per part.
