New Barracks Will Be Open to Receive Class of 2013 Jacobson Hall is nearing completion, and faculty, staff, alumni, and cadets are excited about the move. FUMA President Admiral J. Scott Burhoe said, "Our new cadet
leaders will be the first to move into Jacobson Hall, so that they can begin ‘creating the culture’ for the Corps of Cadets. Our goal is that Jacobson Hall will look as new in 50 years as it does the day we move
in...and I'm confident we can achieve that goal." The groundbreaking ceremony was in October, 2010, but they actually began moving dirt in March, 2011. As one faculty member commented, “The new barracks is wonderful, but it is just a building. What we’re about is the boys who live in it.”
