A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

As I enter my third year as President of Fork Union Military Academy, a sense of reality has settled in. It is the realization that there are too few places where a young man can go to learn what he needs to know to succeed in today’s world. Some believe the answer is the ability to operate modern technology. My two-year-old grandson can navigate an iPad with ease. Some say it is critical thinking, creativity, and cultural competency. While I don’t disagree, I believe those alone are not enough. Fork Union Military Academy provides a place built on oldfashioned Christian values like respect, integrity, faith, character, and discipline. We still require all cadets to be physically fit, and the academic offerings are challenging. Body…Mind…Spirit. The challenge today is that too many want to take an easier path to success. At Fork Union that path to success must still be earned, and it requires personal sacrifice and effort. It requires courage. Your generosity last year allowed us to continue educating, developing, and inspiring young men in this college-preparatory, Christian, military environment. Cadets built character and learned leadership, independence, confidence, and responsibility in this setting that encouraged them to be their very best. Without your support we would not attract the very best to work or study here. We remain debt free, and we look as good as we’ve ever looked, but there is much work that remains to be done. Guy Beatty, a member of our Board of Trustees said, “You cannot know the enjoyment of having money until you learn to give it away.” We want you to enjoy your money while positively impacting the lives of young men here at Fork Union. Thank you for investing in the future by investing in us. Go FUMA! RADM J. Scott Burhoe, USCG (Ret.) President Fork Union Military Academy

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS Over the years, many generous supporters have contributed to create over 50 endowed scholarships. These invaluable scholarships allow us to recognize young men’s achievements at Fork Union Military Academy, while also providing them with needed financial support. These special gifts are presented at the end of the year academic award session, and are a commentary on a young man’s dedication and hard work. These scholarships also allow the contributor to recognize former cadets, faculty, and friends of the Academy, by naming scholarships in their honor and using criteria to honor their legacies. These gifts are especially important to the Academy and the young men who earn them each year. This year, Fork Union was able to distribute more than $80,000 to over 60 deserving cadets. Listed are each of the scholarships awarded and the name of the cadets who earned them for the 2013-2014 academic year. The Academy would also like to acknowledge and recognize those individuals who provide yearly scholarship support to The Academy’s young men, Ms. Marion Moon, Dr. & Mrs. Emerson D. Farley & Fluvanna’s Ruritan Club.

INTRODUCING OUR NEW ACADEMIC DEAN This year Fork Union announced the retirement of long-time Academic Dean COL Bob Miller. The Academy began a national search for a new Dean in February, and received over sixty applications. RADM J. Scott Burhoe, the Academy’s President, personally reviewed every application, conducting a number of phone and personal interviews. “In late April,” RADM Burhoe explains, “I began to realize that the best candidate for the Dean’s position was working right next door. “ COL Todd Giszack has served as Assistant to the President since 2004. COL Giszack was “the only person who applied who met every criteria listed in the position description,” said RADM Burhoe in announcing the selection.

“I am at the same time humbled, grateful, and excited to have been named the next Academic Dean at Fork Union Military Academy - humbled to follow in the footsteps of great educators like Jay Pendergrass, Ronnie Clark, and Bob Miller, grateful for the opportunity to serve the Academy at a crucial time in its history, and excited about the opportunities that lie ahead on so many fronts. This office is charged with ensuring that FUMA’s academic program is second to none, and I look forward to continuing in the tradition of excellence that has been so well established on this campus. FUMA is a special place; indeed I believe we provide a necessary and vital option in America’s educational landscape. While my career here has allowed me to spend time serving in a variety of educational and administrative positions, my most important role is that of father to my three sons, two of whom are FUMA Cadets (the youngest has to wait a few more years…). As the Academic Dean, but also as a FUMA parent, the hopes I have for my own sons are no different than the hopes I have for each FUMA Cadet. Hopes for success, excellence, enrichment, and preparation for the future. My educational philosophy places great emphasis on maintaining productive relationships between students and teachers, as each of us is called to mentor our students as we impart academic knowledge to them. As I look at the faces of our Cadet Corps, I am reminded again of just how great a future awaits us.”

CULTIVATING LEADERSHIP CHARACTER & LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM Cad Dante Bartolotta, Matt Carmine, Scott Devine, Leo Guevara, Cadets James Jam Sasai, and Paul Webb, accompanied by MAJ James Benson and LTC Rob Feathers, had the privilege of attending the annual National Character and Leadership Symposium at the United Na States Sta Air Force Academy. Our cadets joined with USAFA cadets and college students from all over the country to hear ca presentations from such notable speakers as BRIG GEN (ret.) pr Charles “Chuck” Yeager, most famous for breaking the sound Ch barrier in flight, COL (ret.) Lee Ellis, who was held as a POW ba for fo 5 ½ years at the infamous Hanoi Hilton, and Tony Mendez, the th CIA Agent who was instrumental in the freeing of five American hostages A from Iran in 1979, fr recently portrayed in the Oscar-winning movie, Oscar “Argo.” Twenty-five speakers and numerous panel discussions provided our cadets a greater understanding of what true leadership entails under the theme, “The Silver Lining: Courage through Adversity.” The cadets also enjoyed visiting Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak in Colorado Springs. The trip ended the way it began...with a Rocky Mountain blizzard, resulting in a one-day delayed return to campus. The cadets arrived tired but inspired by new knowledge gained during this worthwhile weekend.

VA TECH LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE Ca Cadets Dante Bartolotta and Leonardo Guevara, both members of FUMA’s junior class, were selected to attend m this year’s annual Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Leadership th Conference held in Blacksburg from 27-29 March. There were Co 19 educational institutions invited to this conference, however FUMA was the only high school in attendance. FU While in Blacksburg, Cadets Bartlotta and Guevara (shown W with w one of their conference hosts) attended plenary sessions related to leadership, including Leadership and Inspiration, re Leadership from the NCO Perspective, and Leadership in Le Times of Crisis. They also participated in a variety of breakout Ti sessions and faculty presentations. The conference keynote se presenter was Mrs. Christine Todd Whitman, who was elected p as the first female governor of New Jersey in 1994, serving until 2001. Conferees had the opportunity to meet and converse with Mrs. Whitman, and dined with her prior to her delivering the keynote address to the Virginia Tech community. After her term as Governor, she went on to head the Environmental Protection Agency under President George W. Bush and is currently an author and consultant. 5

CADETS GIVE BACK FOOD DRIVE

T

he cadets of Fork Union Military Academy started a food drive on the first of November, and when the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank truck rolled onto campus to collect the food, more than 5,572 pounds of canned and dry goods had been gathered by the students. It took twenty cadets, working in bucket brigade style, nearly an hour just to load all of the food from the storage area into the truck. In the Upper School, Charlie Company (sophomores) took first place in the food drive by collecting the largest amount of food, followed by Bravo Company (juniors) in second place, and Echo (freshmen) Company in third place. In the Middle School, Bravo Company took first place in the food drive. Ultimately, though, it was not about the competition of winning or losing company points, but helping to put food on the tables of those in need. 6

RELAY FOR LIFE

T

he Academy held its first Relay for Life event on April 20, 2013. The Corps was divided into teams based on their company. To make things interesting, the Commandant’s Department made it a “company competition” by offering company points to the company that raised the most money.

Each company had a team fundraiser at the Relay event. Fundraisers included face painting, a 31 Bag drawing, corn hole tournaments, and other fun games. In addition, there were water balloon fights, a frozen t-shirt contest, volleyball games and kickball games. However, the highlight of the event, hands down, was the dunking booth. Various cadets, LTC Fender, LTC Feathers, SGT Shreves, and even our Academy President, RADM Burhoe, braved the booth for the cause. From the heckling and laughter, it seemed that those being dunked had just as much fun as those trying to do the dunking. At the end of the day, taps played and the sun down, the whole Corps took a final, silent lap around the track, remembering and honoring loved ones affected by cancer. Cadets began raising money in early October 2012. By the end of our event, our campus raised $13,691 in the fight against cancer.

A FEW GOOD MEN Each year the senior class at Fork Union Military Academy achieves 100% college acceptance, and the diversity of the Corps is often reflected in the diversity of these acceptances. Beginning with the Class of 2008, select members of each graduating class have been included on a poster called “A Few Good Men, which highlights the diversity of acceptances our seniors receive. Six editions of the Few Good Men poster now adorn the main lobby of Hatcher Hall, including the most recent one from the Class of 2013. These posters tell the success stories for each of the smiling boys selected for inclusion, and provide visitors with a glimpse of the array of admittances our seniors achieve each year. The most recent iteration includes cadets who were admitted to colleges from Florida to Washington, state schools and private colleges, service academies to technical schools. Behind each smiling face in the picture is a success story that we are always glad to tell.

Respect. Integrity. Faith. Character. Discipline.

HOW IS

LIFE

BEYOND FUMA? By Nathan Northcutt Class of 2013

A

lmost six months have passed since graduating. The first month of college is officially under my belt. Thinking back on Fork Union Military Academy, I realize how grateful I am for that experience, what it taught me, and how it changed my life. I believe that Fork Union presented opportunities to me that I was able to take advantage of. I developed myself into a college-ready student with these opportunities. College is challenging but manageable. It’s about knowing how to manage your time to stay ahead of the syllabus so you come to class prepared. The Academy taught me how to be prepared, how to manage my time, and how to sit down and get work done. It also helped me become more organized and encouraged me to be a hard worker. The syllabi for my classes are on my wall. Tests and quizzes are highlighted. Each day I have designated times I study for classes and upcoming tests. I wouldn’t be doing any of that without Fork Union. Fork Union is a unique place that provides cadets with the opportunity to make their own decisions and based on that decision reap the rewards or fall down and work their way back up. It is up to the individual to take the opportunities presented and change himself. You find out what type of man you are when you are forced to be responsible for your own decisions and actions. At times it might feel like Fork Union is impossible and too much

12

for a young man to handle, but that’s not the case and the challenges are what makes a person stronger. I managed to go my duration of Fork Union (two years) demerit free. From day one I made it my goal to take it a day at a time, focus on that one day and improve myself mentally and physically. It’s all about the individual’s mental focus and how he learns to deal with challenges he faces. Fork Union actually shows the cadet how to face challenges and adversity by creating an environment where he cannot avoid them. I look back and I realize how hard an officer had to work if his job was done correctly. To be honest, there were not many advantages involved with having rank. Responsiblity increased much more while there was only a slight increase of privileges. Was it worth it? Well, there were times while I was an officer that I didn’t think so. But I am now happy to realize I was given a priceless opportunity to learn important social and management skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. As I sit in my college classes now, I look around and ask myself, “what other nineteen-year-old guy in this room has graduated from a place like Fork Union?” I would wager very few. My Fork Union classmate, Dallas Bonner, is in several of my classes and I see him in the weight room everyday. When people look at Dallas they see his confidence and determination, and they see a leader. I won’t be the one to judge my own person, but I hope they would see the same in me as well. We are, after all, FUMA men! Yes, Fork Union Military Academy gave me a work ethic, vision, and discipline. That’s all great, but how does this currently help me as a nineteen-year-old? It helps with my bodybuilding (as I prepare for the National Physique Committee), my academic studies, and my social skills. The Academy not only prepares one for college, it prepares men for life. I have personal goals that I am

committed to achieving. Some will take a short time and others years, but I will achieve them. Along the way, I can’t wait to see where the journey takes me and what life holds for me. Something I always wondered while I was a cadet was whether I would keep in touch with my friends from Fork Union. You build such strong relationships through these great challenges and I wondered what would happen when I left? Well, I still talk with my closest friends Partlow and Napolitano almost every single day and I have some of my faculty and staff mentors as friends on Facebook and some even have my phone number. It really means a lot to me when they take time out of their day to check on one of their “old FUMA guys,” and ask me how things are going. In a strange way I miss Fork Union. We take for granted some of the things we had there and isolation is something I sometimes miss. A cadet was able to focus nine months out of the year towards his academic studies and his physical strength. It seems that people get so caught up in the world with so many things happening around them it is sometimes too fast-paced. Fork Union let me hit the “pause button” and focus on myself and I am sure that in my life to come I will not have many opportunities like that again. I would be lying through my teeth if I said that Fork Union was easy. As a cadet, there were times I wanted to throw in the towel and pack my gear. However, now that I am an alumnus and I have completed that chapter of my life, I realize that the Academy changed and shaped me into something special. I am excited to see what the future holds for my fellow classmates, my friends and me. The world is ours for the taking and I pity those who are not Fork Union Military Academy alumni. They don’t stand a chance! 13

A Snapshot Of

Fork Union Military Academy’s Strategic Plan Vision Our vision is to be a national leader among independent boarding schools. Our faculty, facilities, and programs will exemplify excellence, especially in the area of academic preparation for higher education. The school environment and culture will promote Christian values and cultivate strength of character, self-discipline, and critical thinking skills essential for life-long learning, leadership, and service to others.

Mission Our mission is to educate, develop, and inspire young men in a college preparatory, Christian, military environment. Cadets build character and learn leadership, independence, confidence, responsibility, and discipline in a setting that encourages mental, physical, and spiritual growth.

Strategic Themes Institution of Excellence: Fork Union Military Academy excels in educating, developing, and inspiring students in academics, faith, leadership, and athletics. The Academy creates a challenging and rewarding developmental experience which addresses individual needs and provides growth opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. Value to Virginia, the Nation, and the World: Fork Union Military Academy graduates young men sound in “Body, Mind, Spirit.” Using the One Subject Plan, the Academy is unique in its approach to intellectual development. 14

Wish List President’s Top 10 1. Scholarship Support Each year there are young men interested in attending whose families are unable to afford the tuition and fees. Any increment of $1,000 or more will enhance our effort to achieve full enrollment.

2. Endowment Support Building our endowment through annual gifts, one-time giving and planned giving will secure our future, and allow us to achieve financial sustainability.

3. Youth Minister Interns We have one youth minister this year (a seminary student), and he is making a real difference in the lives of young men, helping them find salvation through Jesus Christ. We believe three youth minister interns each year will help us cultivate a community of Christian love.

4. Renovate Wicker Science Laboratories The science laboratories have not been updated in over forty years and marginally meet our collegepreparatory curriculum. We need to upgrade and modernize these labs.

5. Master Plan Development Having completed the Strategic Plan, we must now hire an architect and professional engineer to create formal master planning documents.

6. Artificial Turf Surface for Multi-Sport Field This multi-purpose field (soccer, lacrosse, football, military drill) will replace our football field. It will allow us to attract more students and have multiple events in this ideal campus location. This is a naming opportunity.

7. Create Body, Mind, Spirit Center (replace the Alumni Gymnasium) This new building would look identical to, and be in the same place as, the current Middle School Gym (Alumni Gym). It would house the Chaplain’s Office, guidance counseling, resource and student services (academic help), and cardio/weight machines. The basement would house a “black box” theater for school plays. This is a naming opportunity.

8. Replace Four Activity Buses Our current buses each have over 100,000 miles on them, and they are critical in allowing our cadets to participate in important extracurricular activities that broaden their experiences and minds.

9. Create Leadership Center (renovate north end of Vaughan Hall) We need a distinctive place on campus for offices and break-out rooms where the classroom portion of leadership is taught and where cadets can meet for leadership discussions. This is a naming opportunity.

10. Endow Leadership Chair It would be beneficial to have one proven leader, who also has strong academic credentials, to conduct the leadership discussion here at Fork Union Military Academy. The Chair would work with Academics, Athletics, and the Commandant’s Department to build character and leadership in all faculty and cadets. This is a naming opportunity.

A MESSAGE FROM THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT Dear Fellow FUMA Alumni, I am honored and privileged to serve as your FUMA Alumni Association President for the 2013-2015 academic school years. I look forward to working with the board to help our great institution become even greater. As President, I am committed to maintaining the established partnership with the Academy and developing new and innovative solutions that meet the needs of our global alumni base. Our vision is clear - we volunteer to further FUMA’s mission of providing outstanding educational opportunities to exceptional young men who represent families from around the world. Those opportunities are realized through Christian values that cultivate strength in character, leadership, integrity, respect, faith, and discipline in a military environment. Interested in getting involved? There are Alumni Board Committees where you can express your ideas and develop your leadership. The coming year promises to be an exciting time with many outstanding activities and events. The Association embraces your continued support. I would like to take time to commend the alumni in one particular area that is vital to sustaining FUMA’s future. Alumni giving has increased to over 9%, which speaks to the commitment you’ve shown in giving back to the institution that has provided us with confidence when faced with challenges, as well as the ability to stand firmly on a solid foundation of values, all solidified by a college-preparatory education that is second to none. In closing, I encourage each of you to stay connected and get involved. It is indeed my pleasure to serve as your President and I hope you will continue to join me in giving back to your alma mater by volunteering, making a financial contribution and participating in the many events offered throughout the year. I hope to see you on campus. Sincerely, Allan Herring ‘80 President

FUMA ALUMS JOIN TOGETHER TO HELP K9S FOR WARRIORS You might file this story under the heading “It’s a small world, and FUMA is a big part of it.” It is just one more example of the powerful reach that Fork Union has had in the world, and the remarkable compassion and sense of service our alumni bring to their communities. A Wounded Warrior Our story centers around Brian Keaton, Sr., a former Sergeant First Class in the U. S. Army who served multiple deployments during combat operations in Iraq. Severely wounded in an explosion, Keaton spent many months in the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center receiving treatment for Pictured left to right: Jason Haag ‘99 & Axel, Don Moore ‘90, Micky Sullivan ‘67, Bill traumatic brain injury and Post Traumatic Stress Mitchell ‘56, and Brian Keaton Disorder (PTSD). CHARLES B. KEESEE EDUCATIONAL FUND GRANTS FORK UNION $100,000 FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Pictured left to right: Dr. David Burhans, Mrs. Vernie Lewis, Mr. Douglas Ramsey, and RADM Scott Burhoe

Charles Blackwell Keesee was born in 1861 in Pelham, North Carolina. In the 1890s, Mr. Keesee moved to Martinsville, VA, where he aided in the development of Martinsville’s economy, assisting in the organization of the American Furniture Company and running the Peoples National Bank. Miss Olivia Simmons was born in Floyd, Virginia in 1870. She met Mr. Keesee in Martinsville, and they were married in 1896. She was noted as being a gracious lady, who “helped people to become persons they never dreamed they could be.” The Keesees never had children of their own, but loved, educated, and nurtured the children from their church and community. In addition to caring for the children of their community, the Keesees were also generous benefactors of the Baptist Orphanage in Salem, Virginia. Because of their commitment to education, children, and the Baptist faith, they decided to create a fund to be established after their deaths that would carry on supporting the ideals to which they dedicated their whole lives. In 1941, the Keesee Educational Fund was established, giving young people the opportunity to receive an education at Baptist Schools throughout Virginia and North Carolina. In January 2013, the Academy was notified that it would be awarded $50,000 from the Keesee 18

Educational Fund for scholarship support. In February, members of the foundation, Dr. David Burhans, President of the Board and Chaplain Emeritus of the University of Richmond, Mr. Douglas Ramsey, Vice President of the Board, and Mrs. Vernie Lewis, Secretary of the Board, visited our campus. During their visit, they attended chapel service, toured the campus, and had lunch at Careby Hall, the former home of Fork Union’s founder Dr. William Hatcher, and current home of President RADM Burhoe and his wife Betsy. During lunch they had the opportunity to meet several cadets and talk with them about life at Fork Union and their plans for the future. Shortly after their visit, the Academy received notice that the Keesee Educational Fund Board of Trustees had decided to increase the Academy’s award to $100,000, making it possible for Fork Union to offer even more aid to deserving young men. The Academy is truly honored by the support of the Keesee Educational Fund. These assets will allow Fork Union Military Academy to continue to educate, develop and inspire young men in a collegepreparatory, Christian, military environment, and we are thankful for the Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund and its contribution and commitment to helping us achieve these goals.

‘99 ALUMNUS AND CAVALIER UNION INVESTMENTS DONATE $30,000 FOR SCHOLARSHIPS Merrill Robertson, Jr. attended Fork Union Military Academy as a member of the Class of 1999 and a postgraduate football player. He played fullback for Coach John Shuman that year and rushed for over 840 yards and 13 touchdowns. After his stand-out performance at Fork Union, he went on to play football and graduate from the University of Virginia. Mr. Robertson began his early career in sales and financing working for Merrill Lynch and later joined with Dr. Carl Vaughn to open Cavalier Union Investments, a private investment firm. Last year the firm brought aboard a second FUMA alumnus from the Class of 1971, Robert “Bobby” Cobb as their senior accounts manager. COL Cobb is also a retired staff member who spent over 30 years at the Academy and played a significant part in writing our rich history and defining our future. Merrill Robinson Class of 1999

During the 2013 Alumni Weekend, Fork Union honored Bobby Cobb’s brother, Frederick “Freddie” Cobb as the most recent addition to our Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame. Freddie Cobb was a 1962 FUMA alumnus and postgraduate football player who went on to play football and graduate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Freddie enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1967, and was deployed to Vietnam in 1968. He was killed in action a few months later and posthumously awarded the Navy Cross, the second highest decoration given for valor in the Armed Forces for his courage under fire. To honor Freddie’s memory, Cavalier Union Investments made a generous donation of $30,000 to the Academy to help deserving young men through three scholarship funds. The Freddie Cobb Scholarship assists young men who exemplify leadership, integrity, and have a positive attitude. The donation also supported the Coach Bill Blair and the Coach Fletcher Arritt Scholarships, which help postgraduate football and basketball players to attend the Academy. Fork Union Military Academy is very grateful to Cavalier Union Investments - and to Merrill Robertson, Carl Vaughn, and Bobby Cobb - for their incredibly generous investment in our future and the young men who will benefit from their kind support.

A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT It is a pleasure to write this message culminating my first full year back at Fork Union Military Academy. I am humbled and so very grateful to all of you for the support you provided this year to the Academy. Thanks to you, this fiscal year had more annual gifts directed to the Annual Fund than any previous year, including 338 first-time donors. Fellow alumni answered requests to support the Academy. Alumni participation increased this year, and you provided over 38% of the total gifts received. I look forward to your continued support during the years to come. Thanks also to our Board of Trustees; we are blessed to have your support and dedication. This is a special group of individuals who give of themselves for our future. This year, they provided countless hours of support and over 40% of our annual giving. The Academy is indebted to them and their families for what they do and sacrifice for all of us. Our parents, grandparents, special friends, and the foundations and trusts also represent nearly 40% of all our donors. We truly have an amazing FUMA family. Thank you. While we celebrate a great year of giving, we must focus again on our immediate needs in order to secure our future. Each year, we have a need to raise 10% or more of our annual operating budget. Our Annual Fund is critical to covering these necessary expenses and directly supports students, faculty and staff, and special programs. The Annual Fund helps create a margin of excellence for the Academy’s “Body, Mind, Spirit” mission and we must close this annual gap to realize the strategic goals set for our future. As we continue forward, we need a robust and consistent source of annual funds that can be used immediately and towards our greatest needs. Annual and repeated giving, particularly to the Annual Fund, is vitally important to our mission and the young men who are here now and those who will come in the future. This last year we encouraged everyone to give what they could. This point is very important. Every gift is imperative and makes a difference. Last year, nearly 60% of your gifts were $250 or less. We cannot reach our goals without these donations. Above all else, our sincere gratitude and appreciation goes out to all of you for your generous support to Fork Union Military Academy. Each day we build upon excellence, and with your continued help, there is no doubt that we will all see the Academy’s goals realized. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible family, and I look forward to another year with all of you. LTC Don Moore ‘90 Executive Director of Development

“Every gift counts and every dollar is a promise to our future.” 31

To honor those individuals we have included this level to represent those who have been esteemed in this way. Many of these individuals contributed personally throughout the year, yet this level represents their recognition by others, who gave monetarily to distinguish them in this extraordinary way.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Alumni Participation by Class Year The percentage of alumni who support a school is an important measure of the school’s strength and health. In measuring alumni participation, it is not the size of the donation, but the act of the donation, that matters. Many foundations and corporations (an important source of FUMA’s funding) look at the rate of alumni participation in determining what funding requests they will support. No amount is too small to help. By donating $50 or $100 per year, you can help increase our overall alumni participation rate and improve our ability to raise funds from foundations and corporations, while providing muchneeded support for the Academy and its educational mission.
