Fingers on your buzzers Alex Simpson (he/him) Some of Sheffield’s brightest students will be taking on Britain’s hardest quiz in an attempt to win University Challenge for the first time. The University of Sheffield’s University Challenge team will take on a team from Loughborough University in their First Round match in the competition on Monday 18 September. This is the first time the university has made backto-back appearances on the show since 2009, and the team are confident of their chances. Team Captain, Cameron Colclough said: “I think the team is quite well balanced. “It’s got a blend of different styles of knowledge and different areas of knowledge. "I’d like to think we could win it." The team’s first round match will be broadcast on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, at 8:30pm. If they win, they will likely play their Second Round match in November or December.
