Forge supports, empowers and improves medical access, health outcomes, and quality of life for Alabama breast cancer patients, survivors and those who love them from the day of diagnosis through the rest of life.
OUR REACH
Since 2020, Forge has expanded its geographic footprint across the state of Alabama, serving and supporting breast cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones in 59 of Alabama’s 67 counties.
OUR PURPOSE
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s the most common cancer in women but also the most responsive to treatment 91% of patients will survive for 5 or more years, but only if they can access and afford healthcare, which is hard in a state that leads the nation in rural hospital closures. 43% of Alabamians travel an average of 110 miles each way for every treatment, which requires money and time off of work -- things many Alabamians can’t afford.
Forge steps into that void, providing supportive services, including help getting to medical appointments and paying essential bills so every Alabamian diagnosed with breast cancer has the best chance to return to their families, work, and lives -- without worrying about keeping their electricity on

We empower by pairing you with a mentor to listen and support; provide educational resources such as health and wellness classes, free professional mental health counseling, and financial support through gas cards for transportation to medical appointments, grocery cards, and help with essential bills so you can focus on healing - not on keeping your lights on.
