Shemia F. Washington, Esq.
Cotillion General Chairman

My Dearest Foundation:
It is with immense pride and gratitude that I pen this letter to you. Committing to a life of service is answering the ultimate call from our Father. It has been my sincere honor to serve as General Chairman for our 35th Prevue of Celestial Pearls Debutante Cotillion. Today after months of service to our community, we watch in awe as 31 beautiful and accomplished young ladies make their decent into society.
It is my prayer for them that they remember the pearls of wisdom, education, etiquette, motivation, service, self-esteem/self-worth and culture that we have given them. I trust that they remember to love themselves and be authentically intentional about living their best lives.
To my fellow sisters in service, the members of the Forever Pink Fou ndation, let me close my letter with something for us to remember as we serve. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said “if women are healthy and educated, their families will flourish. If women are free from violence, their families will fl ourish. If women have a chance to work and earn as full and equal partners in society, their families will flourish. And when families flourish, communities and nations do as well.” Let’s continue to be intentional in our service so that we may impact n ot just DeKalb County but beyond.
Yours in Service I remain,
Shemia F. Washington

Greetings!

It is my sincere pleasure to congratulate the beautiful honorees of this evening’s Prevue of Celestial Pearls 35th Debutante Cotillion, sponsored by the Forever Pink Foundation, Inc., in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter.
Debutantes, this SIGNIFICANT accomplishment is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and commitment to EXCELLENCE. Your presentation to society is a tremendous milestone, as your service is impressive and is indeed a model for other students to follow. I, along with the 18,000-plus members of the South Atlantic Region, celebrate with you. We celebrate the recognition of such an outstanding group of young women in the state of Georgia.
As stated by Harriett Tubman, “Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” You, the Celestial Pearls, have the ability to change the world. Family, friends, and other guests believe in you. They know your potential, and that is why they have gathered here this evening to prevue and to celebrate your EXCELLENCE.
I applaud all parents, mentors, workshop presenters, and foundation members who took the time to prepare these 31 young ladies for this cotillion. You have set the stage for them to become conquerors and productive citizens who understand the stellar impact a Celestial Pearl can make in our world now and in the future You’ve also given them the tools needed for finer womanhood – etiquette, grace, social skills, intellect and more. I also am excited and inspired as I think about the impact of our youth mentoring programs in the South Atlantic Region I commend the Forever Pink Foundation, Inc., as it continues to make a SIGNIFICANT mark in DeKalb County, Georgia, and in our region.
Again, congratulations, Debutantes. You are destined for success! I challenge you to RISE to a new level of EXCELLENCE every day; REACH for the stars to change the world; and REPEAT a daily affirmation to remind yourself that you are a radiant Celestial Pearl that will not lose its luster but always will continue to thrive
Sincerely,

Carolyn G. Randolph

Letter from the President

Greetings to the Members of The Forever Pink Foundation, Inc. , our lovely Debutantes, devoted Parents, Friends and Special Guests!
On behalf of the Foundation, it is an honor to have to with us on this, our 35th Debutante Cotillion – “A Prevue of Celestial Pearls ! The energy and excitement from all who have contributed to making tonight’s event possible is humbling and can only be described in one word; Excellence!
Every little girl should have the opportunity to dream the impossible dream or wish upon a star and then experience the magic behind those heartfelt desires as they become a reality We have 31 dynamic and vibrant young ladies who embarked on a journey with us 9months ago; comprised of learning and development, culture, community service and lasting friendships. They’ve worked hard and have remained dedicated and diligent to this commitment. For a moment in time, the world will stand still for each of these beautiful young ladies; not only for tonight, but for tomorrow and years and months ahead . We know this to be true because of their commitment to this experience. Each young lady embodies and has demonstrated great potential, great passion, a greater purpose and perseverance towards a promising future.
We are eternally grateful to the parents, family members and the larger village for your support, investment and the confidence you have sown into each of these young ladies. In a world darkened by hatred and apathy, always remember that it is your love, your sacrifice and moments like these that provide the necessary fuel and ingredients to keep our youth motivated and inspired.
The impact of the Forever Pink Foundation continues to reach beyond this evening’s elegant occasion. With more than $800K raised over the last 3 deca des, our impact has been felt throughout communities by way of service, grants and scholarship In 2020 we will continue this great work and expand our efforts for greater impact across Dekalb County and Metro Atlanta .
I hope you enjoy this evening of Excellence!
Warm Regard

Greetings!

It is indeed my pleasure to extend best wishes to the Forever Pink Foundation on its 35th Debutante Cotillion with the majestic theme of “A Prevue of Celestial Pearls” . The members of the Forever Pink Foundation, Inc., an affiliate of Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter, are to be applauded for the commitment to serve mankind through the devotion of extensive resources to the youth in DeKalb County, Georgia.
The Forever Pink Foundation’s reputation, as an affiliate of Lambda Epsilon Omega, is unprecedented in the community and speaks volumes in terms of the amount of scholarship funds provided to deserving young people over the past thirty-five years, the innovative community service activities benefitting targeted groups in Dekalb County and the educational, social and cultural experiences afforded to the many participants. The record shows that the young ladies and gentlemen that have been a part of the Debutante Cotillion during the past thirty years have gone on to accomplish great things in the world!
Indeed, I am exuberant, ecstatic, and filled with excellent joy as a former President of Lambda Epsilon Omega and as the first elected President of the Forever Pink Foundation. It is with so much joy and so much excitement that I wish you a wonderful 35th celebration of “A Prevue of Celestial Pearls” I know that the Forever Pink Foundation will continue to show the world what we are working with in serving the community and the youth.

C A Prevue of elestial earls
Foundation History
In 1985, Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated presented the first Debutante Cotillion, A Prevue of Celestial Pearls, for young African American high school seniors in DeKalb County as its signature fundraiser. The Cotillion program’s focus was on Scholarship, Cultural and Social Training, Cultural Awareness, Proper Etiquette, Educational/Financial Information and Community Service. In later years, the program was extended to include high school juniors as Sub-Debutantes. This enabled the Chapter to broaden its reach of young women on the threshold of adulthood using similar goals established for the Debutantes.
In 2000, the Chapter established a foundation, Lambda Epsilon Omega Foundation, Incorporated, with the Debutante Cotillion being its primary fundraiser to support the Foundation’s goal of serving the community through scholarship, support of the arts and educational advancement. In 2011, the name of the Foundation was changed to The Forever Pink Foundation, Incorporated with a new focus to not only provide Cotillion scholarships, but to broaden their efforts to provide scholarships to the high schools in DeKalb County as well as to offer grant opportunities to non-profits in the community that supported the focus of the revamped Foundation: education, family, economics, health, social and environmental issues.
During the past thirty-five (35) years the Foundation has enriched the lives of young women and young men by providing over $940,000.00 in scholarships and over $185,000.00 in grants that support the arts, education, family, economics, health, social and environmental issues.
Precious Pearls - The Contributors
Since pre-historic times, pearls have been symbols of beauty and value. Cherished as symbols of purity and perfection, elegance and affluence, pearls are unusual gems. The only gem produced by a living animal, the pearl is truly a form of beauty born of the workings of nature.
The Forever Pink Foundation Incorporated is marking its 34th season of presenting “A Prevue of Celestial Pearls”. We take this opportunity to thank the parents and their contributors for their support and donations of our Celestial Pearls this Cotillion Season.
The Forever Pink Foundation, Incorporated also takes this opportunity to recognize and say “THANK YOU” to our Precious Pearls who have made this an evening to remember.

Always remember the Five W’s of Life: Who you are is what makes you special! Do not change for anyone. What lies ahead will always be a mystery. Do not be afraid to explore. When life pushes you over, you push back harder. Where there are choices to make, make the one you won’t regret. Why things happen will never be certain. Take it in stride and move forward.
