HISTORY OF GIVING

The Forever Pink Foundation, Incorporated is a 501 (c)(3) organization established by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Lambda Epsilon Omega chapter to provide scholarships to students and offer grants to nonprofits that support education, family, economics, health, social and environmental endeavors. The Foundation has enriched the lives of young women and men by providing over $940,000 in scholarships and over $185,000 in grants.

APPLICATION PROCESS

The Foundation offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors, college undergraduate students and the Foundation’s Debutante Cotillion participants.

All scholarship applicants, with the exception of scholarships awarded to the Debutante Cotillion court, must apply according to the requirments listed under each scholarship and submit a Forever Pink Foundation Scholarship Application. The criteria for each scholarship are listed in this scholarship packet and on the Foundation website.

The application opens July 1, 2025 and closes at midnight September 29, 2025.

Forever Pink Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Application

DEBORAH O. BELCHER SERVANT’S HEART AWARD

DESCRIPTION:

This scholarship is named in honor of Deborah O. Belcher, one of the Forever Pink Foundation’s initial incorporators and former Foundation president. It is awarded to a high school senior who has made a significant impact serving the needs of others and their community while achieving academic excellence.

AWARD: $1500.00

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

High School Senior

Submission of a Forever Pink Foundation Scholarship Application

3.5 GPA or higher (official transcript required)

Proof of acceptance into an accredited 4-year college or university

1 letter of recommendation (e.g. school counselor/teacher, church member, or community leader)

Proof of completion of a minimum of 120 hours of community service within the past 36 months

500-word essay: Why is servant leadership so important in today’s society and how will you make a difference in your community in the 21st century?

HOW TO APPLY:

To be considered for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must submit all documents listed in the above-listed criteria and the Forever Pink Foundation Scholarship application. The school must submit all transcripts; no transcripts will be accepted from the applicant.

FOREVER HBCU SCHOLARSHIP

DESCRIPTION:

This scholarship is awarded to a female high school senior who demonstrates a financial need to attend a historically black college or university.

AWARD: $1,500.00

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Female high school student

Submission of a Forever Pink Foundation Scholarship Application

3.0 GPA or higher (official transcript required)

Proof of acceptance to an accredited historically black college or university

Proof of family income that does not exceed $80,000.00 annually

500-word essay: Discuss a time when you demonstrated leadership or made a positive impact in your community. How do you envision using your education to further contribute to your community?

YATONYA CODY OLVIER HUMANITARIAN AWARD

DESCRIPTION:

This scholarship is named in honor of YaTonya Cody Oliver, a former president Forever Pink Foundation, Inc. Under her leadership, the Foundation increased its impact and expanded its charitable giving to community organizations. This scholarship is awarded to a college student who selflessly serves the community and excels academically.

AWARD:

$1,500.00

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

College undergraduate

Submission of a Forever Pink Foundation Scholarship Application

3.5 GPA or higher (official transcript required)

Proof of enrollment in an accredited 4-year college or university 1 letter of recommendation (e.g. school counselor/teacher, church member, or community leader)

Academic or Community Service Resume

500-word essay: What is a critical community need and how can you best address that need?

Debutante Cotillion Scholarships

ROSEBUD AWARD

DESCRIPTION:

This award is given to the Debutante who demonstrates a financial hardship. Upon submission of appropriate documentation, the award will cover the Debutante’s Cotillion registration fee.

AWARD:

Registration fee for the current Cotillion season

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Submission of a Forever Pink Foundation Scholarship Application Applicant must demonstrate a financial hardship that impedes her ability to pay the registration fee.

HOW TO APPLY:

Applicant must submit a Forever Pink Foundation Application and provide a written statement that outlines the financial hardship and provide supporting evidence. Any questions about appropriate supporting evidence should be directed to fpfscholarships@gmail.com.

The application and supporting evidence must be completed by June 1, 2025.

SHEILA SHAW SCOTT BOOK AWARD

DESCRIPTION:

This award is given to the Debutante who timely submits the required documents that depict the highest grade point average.

AWARD:

A plaque or trophy

A $750.00 book award

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Debutante in the current cotillion season

Demonstrated the highest GPA among all Debutantes who apply for this award

Receipt of an official transcript from the applicant’s school

HOW TO APPLY:

MISS CONGENIALITY

DESCRIPTION:

This honor is awarded to a Debutante, selected by her peers, as the most all-around Debutante. Miss Congeniality has been a role model in spirit, service, and sisterhood.

AWARD:

A plaque or trophy

A $500.00 book award

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Debutante in the current cotillion season Miss Congeniality is selected by her Debutante peers prior to the night of the Cotillion.

HOW TO APPLY:

All participants who participate as a Debutante and have met the above criteria and requirements will be considered for this award.

MISS DEBUTANTE

DESCRIPTION:

This scholarship is awarded to a current Forever Pink Foundation, Inc. Debutante.

AWARD:

A crown

A sash

A plaque or trophy

A monetary award given to the the Debutante who raised the most funds above $2,500.00

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Debutante in the current cotillion season

Raised the most funds above $2,500 in donations, ads or contributions for the current cotillion season

Junior Escort fees and requirements met

HOW TO APPLY:

All participants who participate as a Debutante and have met the above criteria and requirements will be considered for this award.

MISS DEBUTANTE - FIRST RUNNER UP

DESCRIPTION:

This scholarship is awarded to a current Forever Pink Foundation, Inc. Debutante.

AWARD:

A sash

A plaque or trophy

A monetary award given to the the Debutante who raised the second most funds above $2,500.00

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Debutante in the current cotillion season

Raised the 2nd most funds above $2,500 in donations, ads or contributions for the current cotillion season

Junior Escort fees and requirements met

HOW TO APPLY:

All participants who participate as a Debutante and have met the above criteria and requirements will be considered for this award.

MISS DEBUTANTE - SECOND RUNNER UP

DESCRIPTION:

This scholarship is awarded to a current Forever Pink Foundation, Inc. Debutante.

AWARD:

A sash

A plaque or trophy

A monetary award given to the the Debutante who raised the third most funds above $2,500.00

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Debutante in the current cotillion season

Raised the 3rd most funds above $2,500 in donations, ads or contributions for the current cotillion season

Junior Escort fees and requirements met

HOW TO APPLY:

All participants who participate as a Debutante and have met the above criteria and requirements will be considered for this award.

DESCRIPTION:

MR. CONGENIALITY

Awarded to a Junior Escort who, based upon the vote of his Junior Escort peers, demonstrates that he is a role model, spirit-filled, active servant, and brother.

AWARD:

A plaque or trophy

A $500.00 book award

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Debutante has fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Junior Escort in the current cotillion season

Mr. Congeniality is selected by his Junior Escort peers prior to the Cotillion.

HOW TO APPLY:

All participants who participate as a Junior Escort and have met the above criteria and registration requirements may be considered for this award.

HIGHEST GPA AWARD - JUNIOR ESCORT

DESCRIPTION:

This award is given to the Junior Escort with the highest cumulative grade point average.

AWARD: A plaque

A $750.00 book award

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Debutante has fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Junior Escort in the current cotillion season

Demonstrated the highest GPA among all Junior Escorts who apply for this award

Receipt of an official transcript from the applicants school

BERNICE HOWELL STOKES

SALUTE TO THE BLACK MALE AWARD

DESCRIPTION:

Awarded to the Junior Escort, classified as a high school senior or college freshman whose enrollment is at a 2-year OR a 4-year college or university.

AWARD:

A plaque or trophy

A $750.00 book award

CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS:

Debutante has fulfilled all presentation requirements for the current cotillion season

Paid all registration fees for the current cotillion season

Participated as a Junior Escort in the current cotillion season

Submitted a Forever Pink Foundation Scholarship Application

Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the term immediately preceding the Debutante Cotillion

A 500 word essay on the topic: Discuss a time when you demonstrated leadership or made a positive impact in your community. How do you envision using your education to further contribute to your community?

A letter of character recommendation from a school counselor, teacher, minister, or director of community service organization or foundation.
