Forestry Mutual Insurance Company and the Virginia Loggers Association have been constantly connected to ensure that every business operates with the highest state of safety awareness and oversight in forest harvesting and mill operations.

VLA has depended upon FMIC to develop and deliver important safety training and programs to help every member operate in the safest possible way and eliminate accidents and harm to others. Logging enterprises must be constantly aware and willing to accept and include safety education and oversight of its business operations.

Commitment to safety education and training helps ensure the safety of employees as they perform the detailed operations of a business. VLA is committed to a constant vigilance towards safety education and inspection as a central foundational block of its association. Harvesting forests and processing solid wood into useful products is synonymous with the use of heavy machinery, fast-moving parts, operator visibility issues, and human interaction. Education has been and will continue to be necessary on a regular basis to ensure the safety of employees and the public.

Virginia Loggers Association is a 501 C 6 trade association dedicated to the safety and welfare of all members, our industry, and the public. VLA will work closely with FMIC and SHARP Loggers program to ensure the routine delivery of safety training and education to VLA members.
