Missouri Amendment 3

Dear Forest Hills Employees, Recently Missouri passed Amendment 3, what does this mean?

● The law does not permit public use of marijuana, use of marijuana in the workplace, or driving while under the influence of marijuana.

● Forest Hills is not required to permit or accommodate use or possession of marijuana on company property and may continue to prohibit employees from, and discipline or discharge employees for, working while under the influence.

● Forest Hills still prohibits the use and possession of marijuana on company property and prohibits being under the influence of marijuana – whether medical or otherwise – during working hours.

Forest Hills takes interest in providing you with a safe work environment. We recognize our employees are valuable. Because of this belief, we strive to maintain a safe, drug-alcohol free work place. We have zero tolerance for illegal or improper drug use and/or alcohol abuse, or working while under the influence. Marijuana is prohibited on company premises. As a reminder, smoking tobacco (including vaping) is only allowed in the designated smoking area located outside on the back dock.

Thank you,

Q: How long have you worked at Forest Hills and what do you do?

A: I’ve been here 4 ½ years and I am currently the Pastry Chef. Before that, I worked the pantry station and managed the Café.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at FHCC?

A: The staff! I love all the teams we have here and I’ve been able to witness some great things when we all come together. Everyone here is like family to me!

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I enjoy playing video games with my son, reading, going to the movies, and trying new recipes from any random cookbook I have.

Q: Tell us a random fact about yourself.

A: I used to be a security guard at a casino downtown. I can honestly say it’s not as glamorous as it looks in the movies, but it is very entertaining! I’ve considered writing a book about the many, MANY adventures I had there.

Q: What are you watching on Netflix (Hulu, AppleTV, etc.)?

A: I’m a big anime and manga nerd. I just wrapped up the first season of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War. I’m currently finishing Andor on Disney+.

Q: What is makes you such a great employee?

A: I would say my ability to get along with anyone. I said before that the staff here is like family. I like to make others feel comfortable and welcome. As a result of that, I’ve made some great friendships here and I continue to make great friends!

Rapid Fire Questions:

Q: Dogs or cats?

A: Neither, allergies!

Q: Night owl or early bird?

A: Early bird

Q: Favorite place to travel?

A: My mother is from Bermuda and honestly it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. I love going there.

Q: Favorite food?

A: Seafood!

Q: Guacamole for $1 extra?

A: Spend that $1 and go buy avocados, then make gauc at home because my gauc is the BOMB!

Q: How long have you worked at Forest Hills and what do you do?

A: I'm one of the housekeepers at FHCC, and I've been happily working here for almost 7 months

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at FHCC?

A: It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to choose, it would be the countless friendly faces I get to see everyday, both from members and staff alike. I've met so many unique and inspiring individuals, and I'm truly honored to work alongside all of them.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I’m a huge nature enthusiast, so I base a lot of my hobbies on the outdoors, such as hiking and foraging. I also have a great passion for art.

Q: Tell us a random fact about yourself.

A: My favorite animals are elk and possums.

Q: What are you watching on Netflix (Hulu, AppleTV, etc.)?

A: I just finished the Netflix series “Wednesday.” The plot was similar to a cheesy early teen novel, but with a spooky twist. It felt nostalgic in a way!

Q: What makes you such a great employee?

A: My attention to detail and organization tend to catch people’s eye the most. I also have the strength to take responsibility and be open to ideas.

Q: What is a piece of advice you remember from a great boss?

A: Charlie Miner and Craig Mathiews were my managers when I worked at Dierbergs. They were the first to teach me how to really carry myself in the workplace and to keep my head held high.

Rapid Fire Questions:

Q: Dogs or cats?

A: Cats

Q: Night owl or early bird?

A: Night owl

Q: Favorite place to travel?

A: Anywhere with forests

Q: Favorite food?

A: Salmon

Q: Guacamole for $1 extra?

A: Yes, please!

Q: Favorite number and why?

A: Seven, because in numerology , it stands for intuition

Positive Reviews

Here are some positive reviews we’ve received this winter. Excellent job to the whole staff for making these members experiences so fantastic. Keep up the great work!

“John is GREAT! He always has a smile and great attitude, hopefully he will come back next year, or we can find a way for him to stay with us this off season.” (From Mr. Mazzola)

“I am overdue in my thank you since it was several weeks ago, but I just wanted to thank you and your staff for a wonderful Homecoming dinner experience for our oldest, Abby. She and her friends took pictures in front of the 9th green and had a great dinner in the dining room. Their table looked great and their service was wonderful. I can’t thank you all enough for making her first high school dance experience so special. The pictures and dinner are a much bigger deal than the dance itself and she has great memories from this night.” (From Mrs. Mohan)

“The de Greck family had another special evening at Forest Hills last night. The Holiday dinner was wonderful. The club looked beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was really excellent. I wanted to pass along a special "thank you" to Madeline. She was our server last night and she helped make the evening special. She was attentive and helpful and always had a bright smile on her face. Everyone agreed that she was wonderful. Please let her know what a great job she did.” (Mr. de Greck)

“Open Kitchen was awesome – best one yet!” (Mr. Linenbroker)
