10 Minutes with
Tyrese
Omotoye
Footballing heroes, best career moments to date, and the iconic series he loves to watch, get to know our man Tyrese Omotoye ahead of Yeovil Town’s visit.
Who is your footballing hero? Thierry Henry & Ronaldo Nazario. For me, it’s the way they breezed past players, scored goals & single handedly decided games. Do you have any hobbies outside of football? Definitely Padel! We’ve got a group of lads that play every so often. They’ll all tell you how good I am, too! Do you have a favourite place you've visited? Blue Lagoon – Iceland. I went during the summer when it’s light at every hour of the day so felt very dreamy! Also, Ikos Aria holiday resort too, I’d recommend that to anyone. What job would you have if you weren’t a footballer?
What is your best moment in football? Making my professional debut in the Championship and playing international football at youth level – both are great memories for me.
An athlete in some capacity. Perhaps a sprinter or an NFL wide receiver. What is your favourite TV series/film? Power - by a mile. Who are your best friends at FGR?
Who is the best player you’ve played with or against?
We’ve got a great team spirit this year - I’m boys with everyone!
Emi Buendia whilst I was at Norwich. Unbelievable technical ability & tenacity.
What song goes on your Matchday playlist?
Which ground, that you’ve played at, has the best atmosphere? Valley Parade - Bradford City. What is the best goal you’ve seen live? Sercs (Liam Sercombe) against Boston – I really couldn’t believe he went for it! Which ground has the most intimidating tunnel walk? I’ve not really been phased by any, I don’t think!

Forest Green Rovers bring in the New Year welcoming Yeovil Town for our opening game of 2025. The Glovers lasted visited Nailsworth in February 2019 in a game where Rovers ran out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Junior Mondal, Christian Doidge and Lee Collins.
saw him be part of the historic side that lifted the League Two title in 2022. Heading into this campaign, results have been up and down for the Glovers who have recently been occupying a stable midtable position putting them in a good place to remain in the league come May.
Rovers are also welcoming former promotion-winning manager, Mark Cooper, back to The New Lawn having taken over the Glovers back in 2022.
There have been more positive than negative results for the Glovers with one memorable fixture this season coming back in September when they played out a seven-goal thriller with AFC Fylde.
Since taking over the Glovers, Cooper brought a togetherness back to the side helping them earn promotion back to the National League last season winning the National League South title.
After finding themselves 2-0 down after 34 minutes, goals from Sam Pearson, Aaron Jarvis and Sonny Blu Lo-Everton had the Glovers 3-2 ahead heading into the final 10 minutes.
Alongside Cooper, Rovers will also get the chance to welcome back former captain, Dom Bernard, who joined the Glovers at the beginning of the season following his departure from Rovers.
Fylde drew level on 84 minutes but Rovers former man, Bernard, stepped up three minutes from time to grab a dramatic winner and his first Glovers goal.
Bernard made 186 appearances for Rovers during his five-year stint at the club which
Following their trip to Nailsworth the Glovers face off with Woking at Huish Park before travelling to strugglers Ebbsfleet United.
Established
Yeovil Town Football Club, founded in 1890, initially shared its ground with a local rugby club before reforming as Yeovil Casuals in 1895, playing at the Pen Mill Athletic Ground. The club adopted the name Yeovil Town in 1907, and after a merger with Petters United, became Yeovil and Petters United, before reverting to Yeovil Town before the 1946–47 season.
Crest
With iconic gloves central, this emblem serves as a powerful tribute to Yeovil’s history and identity. The inclusion of gloves in their new badge holds deep significance for Yeovil Town. As the birthplace of the glove-making industry in the United Kingdom, Yeovil has long been synonymous with craftsmanship, innovation, and resilience. The gloves featured in the badge stand as a tribute to the skilled and dedicated workers.
Stadium
With a capacity of 9,565, Huish Park has been the home of Yeovil Town since 1990. The ground is only partly seated, being made up of two terraced stands and two similar seated stands that run adjacent to the pitch.
