“Welcome Harvester Family!”
I hope your summer has been restful, joyful, and filled with memories that will carry you into the new school year with renewed energy. As we prepare for the 2025–2026 school year, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of our returning families and a special greeting to those who are new to Pampa ISD. We’re honored you’ve chosen to be part of our school community.
There’s never been a more exciting time to be a Harvester! Thanks to the support of our community through Bond 2023, we are actively transforming our campuses to meet the evolving needs of today’s learners. From the new Career & Technology and Fine Arts addition at the high school to the expansion at Travis Elementary, these projects are more than buildings—they are bold investments in our students’ future.
At Pampa ISD, our mission goes beyond academics. We are committed to helping students become compassionate, competent, confident, and future-ready. Guided by our vision, Pampa ISD students are courageous innovators utilizing their own unique abilities to invest in their world. Our staff is dedicated to creating learning environments where every child feels seen, supported, and challenged to grow.
This year, our focus remains on deepening literacy, strengthening processes and procedures, and fostering meaningful connections with families. One of the greatest predictors of student success is consistent attendance. We ask for your partnership in ensuring your child is present and engaged. Every day counts.
Our commitment to safety remains steadfast. With dedicated school resource officers, trained personnel through our Guardian Program, and a strong School Safety and Security Plan, we work diligently to provide a secure environment where students can thrive.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Together, we will celebrate achievements, support one another through challenges, and build a culture of excellence rooted in respect, resilience, and community. I am proud to be part of this remarkable district, and I look forward to the year ahead with great hope and enthusiasm. — With gratitude, Hugh Piatt II

Parent Communication
At Pampa ISD, Parent Communication is one of our most important goals. We love to share news about our students and communicate campus/district information. We use several platforms to communicate with our students, families, and community. Please follow us on our social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Our website is a great place to find information about specific departments, calendar events, and news.
The district has moved all of our Parent/Student communication to the platform, ParentSquare. We are very excited about the features that ParentSquare gives us. Please download the ParentSquare app and set your notifications to your preferred time. If you prefer to receive notifications/communications at the end of your day, select digest. You will have access to all of your student’s campus and district information at your fingertips. You will be able to communicate with teachers and staff through this platform. Never miss another event by subscribing and syncing your calendar with campus and district calendars in ParentSquare. Emergency notifications will bypass personal notification preferences to deliver the emergency notification in real time.
If you have any questions or customer service needs, please contact pampaisdinfo@pampaisd.net or 806-669-4700 Ext 1425. You can also reach us at www.pampaisd.net and select the “Contact us” button.

Student Conduct and Dress Code
Students and parents can access the Student and Parent Handbook containing the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Dress Code on the district’s website, www.pampaisd.net, or by scanning this QR code below.

Inclement Weather Communication
In cases of inclement weather, Pampa ISD works in partnership with the City of Pampa, emergency management personnel, and the Pampa ISD Safety and Security Department. Personnel will be out inspecting road conditions as early as 4:00 am determining the impact of ice/snow on our roadways.
District personnel will collaborate with all information available to determine the safety and security of our staff and students, the impact on parents if there is a delay/closure/
early release, and the impact on District operations to support student instruction and learning.
When possible, the Pampa ISD Superintendent and support staff will make a decision no later than 6:00 a.m. for a delayed start or school closure. At that time, the District will initiate communications through ParentSquare, social media, local tv/radio, and the Pampa ISD website. The District will only initiate major communication if there is a
change to the regular school day and school operations due to weather.
For more information about delayed starts and school closures, and how we communicate during emergencies, cancellations and bad weather, please visit this link.

Pampa ISD Attendance Requirements
Attending school every day and arriving on time is crucial to a student’s academic success!
What is an excused absence?
Personal Illness.
Observance of a religious holy day.
School Hours:
Pre-K and Elementary 7:45 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
PJHS/PHS: 8:05 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
Documented health care appointments. A note from the health care provider must be submitted upon the student’s returen to campus. The student must attend a portion of school on the same day.
What if I need to miss school?
• If a student is absent, the parent or guardian must call the school that day to report the reason for the absence or complete the absence form in the ParentSquare app.
For additional guidance on excused absences, please contact your campus.
It’s Texas State Law!
• State law requires that students attend class regularly to receive credit.
• Ten or more unexcused absences in a six-month period could result in a complaint of Parent-Contributing Non-Attendance being filed in the Justice of Peace Court.
Here are some facts about Absenteeism! (from AttenanceWorks.org)
• Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school.
• Absenteeism and its ill effects start early.
• Poor attendance can influence whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade or be held back.
• By 6th grade, chronic absenteeism becomes a leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school.
• Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school year, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absence.
• When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating.

Student Services
Transportation
Our Transportation Department strives to achieve customer satisfaction by providing safe, timely, and efficient transportation that contributes to the educational success of all students through staff committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
Families with younger children should practice walking to their assigned bus stops together and help their children memorize their bus numbers and school name. Parents should also write down their child’s stop location and school name and place it in a safe location accessible to the student. Ensure that your child knows their bus number and school name. Pampa ISD does not offer transportation for Pre K/Head Start students.
To request transportation, parents need to complete the Bus Rider Request Form accessed by using the Transportation Link.
NOTE: Transportation department personnel cannot enter or edit information in the district’s student database. For address changes, parents should contact the registrar at their child’s campus.
Health Services
In the case of injuries or illnesses during the school day, Health Services are available at every campus. The parent or guardian listed in the enrollment application will be contacted when an injury or illness occurs. Please list additional emergency phone numbers when completing the emergency contact information during the online enrollment process. Parents or guardians should contact their student’s school with any changes to emergency contact numbers.
All prescribed and over the counter medications to be given at school will require written authorization signed by the physician and parent. For more information, contact your school nurse or the District Nurse, Tamara Gutierrez at tamara. gutierrez@pampaisd.net.

Special Populations
The Pampa ISD Special Populations Department serves students with disabilities. Our goal is to provide students with the skills and tools they need to be their best in the classroom and to prepare them for life after graduation. Pampa ISD offers a continuum of services for students with disabilities based on the individual student’s needs which are determined collaboratively by parents and school personnel. If you have a child that needs assistance regarding special education or 504 services or you suspect your child may have a disability, please contact:
The school principal Pampa ISD’s Director of Special Populations

Immunizations
All students shall be immunized according to the Texas school immunization requirements. Please visit their website for additional information, www.dshs.state.tx.us.
Exclusions from compliance are allowable for medical contradictions or reasons of conscience. The school nurse can provide guidance on age-appropriate immunization schedules. Acceptable proof of immunization includes a physician-validated history of illness or personal immunization records from a licensed physician or public health clinic.
A student who meets one of the following criteria may be provisionally enrolled: Transferring from one Texas public school to another. The student is defined as homeless according to the federal McKinney Vento Act.
• The student has received at least one dose of each specified age-appropriate vaccine and is on schedule to receive subsequent doses. The student must complete the next dose to be considered provisional.
To remain enrolled, the student must complete the required subsequent doses in each vaccine series on schedule and as rapidly as medically feasible and provide acceptable evidence of vaccination to the school.
The Gray County Public Health District will continue to immunize students interested in a Covid-19 vaccine, including those who are on Medicaid, do not have health insurance or are under insured. For more information contact the Gray County DHHS at (806) 802-7002. Pampa ISD participates in The Guardian Plan. Under the Guardian Plan, a district can grant qualified personnel permission to carry firearms on campuses through an agreement. The Board desires to ensure the safety of students, school personnel, and visitors, by authorizing a limited number of qualified District employees (“Guardians”) to possess certain CONCEALED firearms on school property to provide an effective and timely response to an emergency situation that poses an immediate threat to serious bodily injury and/or death.
