BELLA VIDA MARKS NEW CHAPTER WITH GROUNDBREAKING EVENT Bella Vida (BV), a new senior living community by Forefront Living, has officially broken ground, marking the start of construction on the 26.5-acre site of what will become one of San Antonio’s most vibrant and forward-thinking retirement communities. More than 75% of the community’s residences have already been reserved, signaling a strong demand for a beautiful life for seniors.

Not only will the BV community bring vitality to San Antonio’s older adult population, but it will also bring more than 70 new full-time jobs to the city. Read more. Watch video.

HOME FRONT HEROES DAY FEATURES EMM LUNCHEON HONOREE Presbyterian Village North (PVN) residents welcomed David Vobora, former NFL linebacker turned national advocate for injured veterans, for a powerful keynote at this year’s Home Front Heroes Day celebration.

The event took place at PVN on May 12, featuring Vobora, founder of the Adaptive Training Foundation (a nonprofit that provides free, performance-based training to veterans and others with life-altering injuries), who shared his inspiring journey from the NFL to helping wounded warriors rebuild strength and purpose through movement and community. TEAMMATE SPOTLIGHT ON STELLAH MOKAYA At Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH), our team is made up of dedicated individuals whose hearts for service shine through in every interaction.

One such teammate is Stellah Mokaya, a Registered Nurse Case Manager who has been part of the FPH family since 2018.

FINDING PEACE AND CELEBRATION: FPH’S SPRING MEMORIAL EVENT On May 10, 2025, Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH) held its annual Spring Memorials in two sessions at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center. These annual events provide families and loved ones with an opportunity to honor and remember those who have passed. Read more.

INTRODUCING LANA BEARUP: FPH DIRECTOR OF QAPI Please join us in welcoming Lana Bearup as the new Director of Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) at Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH).

Lana brings more than 15 years of hospice leadership experience, with a strong focus on clinical quality, program development and end-of-life care. Her career spans the development and management of high-impact clinical programs across multiple states, including overseeing fullscope clinical operations, improving care quality and leading organizational growth. PVN TEAMMATES HONORED AT MEADOWS SCHOLARSHIP LUNCHEON Last week, the Forefront Living Foundation hosted a special luncheon at Presbyterian Village North (PVN) to celebrate teammates who received support from the Patricia and Curtis Meadows Scholarship Fund. So far, the fund has provided $61,773 in scholarships to 33 PVN teammates helping them continue their education. Read more. Watch video.

FLF PARTNERS WITH PURPOSE AT OAW The Forefront Living Foundation (FLF) hosted a “Churros, Coffee and Conversation” presentation for residents of The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW). The session offered an opportunity to meet the team and shared FLF’s mission to “provide the extraordinary,” through caring funds, special programs and capital improvements across Forefront Living communities.

Since 1984, FLF has grown alongside the organization and now provides support to each entity, including OAW. Read more.

SALUTE TO VETERANS: DUKE DUPRE

The Outlook at Windhaven resident, Duke Dupre, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On Memorial Day he reflected on those who made the ultimate sacrifice including his father who served in WWII and the Korean War. Watch video.

OAW GETS ACTIVE FOR NATIONAL SENIOR HEALTH AND FITNESS DAY The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) marked National Senior Health and Fitness Day on May 28, with activities focused on health, movement and fun. OAW residents began the morning with the community’s First Annual Walkathon, benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. Read more.

TEAMMATE SPOTLIGHT ON SABRINA GONZALEZ Sabrina Gonzalez is the Culinary Services Supervisor at The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW). Last August, she joined the OAW community as a server, then advanced to lead server and was recently promoted to her current role. As Culinary Services Supervisor, she oversees the daily operations of food preparation as well as service in the kitchen and dining rooms.

Recently, 54 future residents of Bella Vida (BV), Forefront Living’s (FL) newest community under construction in San Antonio, boarded a chartered bus to visit its DFW sister communities, Presbyterian Village North and The Outlook at Windhaven, for a first-hand look at the type of vibrant senior living they can expect at BV.
