BACK TO SCHOOL (AND WORK) WITH THE CRISTO REY WORK STUDY PROGRAM Eight Cristo Rey Dallas students are kicking off an exciting 2025–2026 work-study year with Forefront Living (FL), Faith Presbyterian Hospice and Presbyterian Village North. Their first day was Friday, August 15, when all eight students arrived at the FL home office for a morning of introductions, presentations and exploration of their new roles. Read more.

Dr. Lori Baudino, a licensed clinical psychologist, filmed a podcast with us in Dallas after first connecting at the Open Hearts Foundation panel in LA earlier this year. In these two very special episodes, we explore how grief shows up in both children and Episode One adults and how we can better support one another through loss.

REDEFINING SENIOR LIVING: CLA AND FL SHAPES THE FUTURE Forefront Living (FL) is focused on creating meaningful experiences for older adults and building a strong sense of community.

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH WITH FAITH KIDS Faith Kids kicked off the 2025– 2026 school year with a party!

Faith Kids is a family bereavement program that provides a safe and nurturing environment.

The children and their caregivers attended the firstever “Back to School Bash” to reunite with other families within the close-knit group before the new school year began. Read more.

THE HEALING POWER OF MUSIC AT FPH At Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH), music is more than background noise — it’s a powerful part of how we care for people. Our music therapist, Jennefer Dixon, brings peace, comfort and connection to patients and families through personalized sessions designed to meet emotional and physical needs. Read more.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: JAN PATTERSON Jan Patterson has been a faithful volunteer with Faith Presbyterian Hospice for nearly 15 years. Click here to read some of the wisdom and experience she has gained throughout her life and time as a volunteer.

TEAMMATE SPOTLIGHT ON VIMALA THOMAS Vimala Thomas began her career at Faith Presbyterian Hospice and the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center in September of 2012, where she serves as a Chaplain and Spiritual Care Counselor. In her role, she provides spiritual support to patients, families, caregivers and teammates.

Professionally, she is passionate about supporting patients and their families as they share their feelings (joys, struggles, hopes and losses). Read more.

ADVISORY COUNCIL GATHERING: INSPIRING LEADERSHIP It was a full house for the Forefront Living Foundation’s Summer Advisory Council gathering at the Comerica Center in Frisco. The event featured a live taping, of the At The Forefront podcast with special guests Al Montoya and Dr. Patrick Walsh, who both model a legacy of leadership in action. Read more.

EACH MOMENT MATTERS HONOREE: MARTY TURCO Hockey legend, Marty Turco, is celebrated for his extraordinary career on the ice but also for his profound impact off it. Known as one of the greatest goaltenders in Dallas Stars’ history, he played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League. Since retiring from hockey, Marty continues to positively impact the Dallas community. Read more.

OAW GOES TO THE DOGS: NATIONAL DOG DAY

For National Dog Day on August 26, tails were wagging as The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) rolled out the red carpet for its furry, four-legged residents.

The community collected donations for the City of Plano Animal Shelter.

OAW RESIDENT SHARES DOWNSIZING JOURNEY After living in a large home, Joyce Boese made the move to The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW). She shared her experience and the reasons behind her decision to downsize, calling it one of the best choices she’s ever made for herself. Joyce loves everything about her new home and community! JAZZY NIGHT DRESSED IN WHITE Residents at The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) gathered for a White Linen Summer Social, a evening filled with great music and food and neighborly company. Stylishly dressed in crisp white attire, OAW residents enjoyed a gourmet dinner buffet and the smooth sounds of a live jazz band. Read more.

REMARKABLE RESIDENT TURNS 107 YEARS-YOUNG Bea Lorenzen, a beloved resident of The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW), turned 107 years-young on August 22! To celebrate this incredible milestone, Bea enjoyed an early birthday party surrounded by her friends and neighbors from Independent Living and Assisted Living, OAW teammates and a few special family members. PVN’S HOT TICKET: MONTHLY BOOK REVIEW SERIES At Presbyterian Village North (PVN), the Executive Director Book Review series has become a much-loved tradition that blends curiosity, conversation and community. Led by Executive Director Dustin Allen, each session gives residents a chance to explore interesting topics while enjoying a relaxed and social atmosphere.

This month, Dustin was joined by a copresenter, Lisa Englander, Director of Resident Services for the first time in his three-year stint. Read more. Watch video.

SHANNON RADFORD CELEBRATES 20 YEARS AT PVN It’s not every day you meet someone who’s been with a company for 20 years; let alone someone who built an entire department from the ground up. But that’s exactly what Shannon Radford did when she joined Presbyterian Village North (PVN) two decades ago and helped launch the Wellness Department. Read more.

BACKPACKS + PURPOSE = PVN RALLIES FOR STUDENTS Just before the start of the 2025 school year, the campus of Presbyterian Village North (PVN) was once again buzzing with generosity and community spirit. For the sixth year in a row, PVN residents and teammates came together to support their longtime neighbors at Stults Road Elementary, a Title One school located just behind the PVN campus.
