MEET YUKI: FROM FOSTER PUP TO OAW THERAPY DOG If you know Katie Snezhkova, Director of Resident Services for The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW), then you know about her love for dogs (she’s fostered 129!) and you’ve likely met Yuki, her four-yearold Great Pyrenees and favorite furry companion.

BELLA VIDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

The Bella Vida team welcomed guests to the Information Center for a “Taco ’Bout a Fiesta” social on April 16. Fifty-two VIPs stopped by the come-andgo celebration. The group of future residents also picked up a 3rd generation BV Fiesta Medal. Read more.

BELLA VIDA IS BRINGING THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE TO SAN ANTONIO Brooks Powell, Bella Vida Executive Director, traveled to Dallas to lead a Lunch and Learn presentation for Forefront Living leadership teammates titled “Bella Vida: Forefront Brings the Beautiful Life to San Antonio.” His presentation provided an update on the vision of the senior living project, including recent progress as well as exciting things to come.

SUPPORT TEAMMATE EDUCATION AND STRENGTHEN RESIDENT CARE In April, the Forefront Living Foundation announced Teammate Scholarship Funds are accessible to employees across each Forefront Living community to continue their education, build new skills and advance their careers. The initiative also gives residents an opportunity to support the people who care for and serve them each day. Through this program, teammates at The Outlook at Windhaven, Presbyterian Village North and St. Joseph Village will benefit. Read more.

CAMP ERIN 2026: SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES This summer, Forefront Living will host Camp Erin DFW 2026, from June 25 – 28 at Camp Buckner. The family bereavement camp supports children, teens and their families who have experienced the loss of a close loved one and is offered at no cost to participants. The program combines traditional camp activities, such as swimming, kayaking, archery and campfires, with grief education and emotional support led by trained professionals and compassionate volunteers. LOVE ON A LEASH Each month, residents at The Outlook at Windhaven look forward to a special visit featuring furry friends with wagging tails from “Love on a Leash,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing an avenue for volunteer teams to engage in pet therapy. Read more.

OAW’S TRACY BARDFIELD IN BOLD JOURNEY Tracy Bardfield’s journey from treating therapist to Rehabilitation Manager at The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) reflects a deeper commitment to enhancing not just recovery, but overall quality of life for seniors. By combining hands-on care with program development, she focuses on proactive strategies like mobility and fall prevention to help residents maintain confidence and independence.

SENATOR SUPPORTS TEXAS SENIORS Recently, LeadingAge Texas hosted Senator Angela Paxton at The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) to present her with the Aging Services Legislative Champion Award. The recognition highlights her leadership in improving guidelines that protect property tax exemptions for charitable organizations providing housing and related services to older adults, supporting non-profit senior living communities across Texas. Paxton’s efforts help safeguard the long-term stability of mission-driven senior living communities.

INSIDE A PVN RESIDENT’S DOLL COLLECTION If you step inside resident Cathy Roach’s apartment at Presbyterian Village North (PVN) you’ll find a room unlike any other.

“Some people have an office or a second bedroom, I decided to make mine into a doll room,” Cathy said.

This carefully curated room filled with shelves, displays an assortment of nearly 1,000 dolls.

Located just outside the executive offices on the second floor of Grace East, the St. Joseph Village (SJV) historical timeline has long served as a meaningful reflection of the community’s rich legacy.

Now, with a recent update, that story has grown. The timeline proudly includes SJV’s connection to the Forefront Living family marking an important milestone in its ongoing journey. Read more.

EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT ENHANCES SJV COMMUNITY GARDEN St. Joseph Village (SJV) recently celebrated a meaningful addition to its community garden, thanks to the creativity and dedication of Eagle Scout Jayden Karjee.

For his Eagle Scout project, Jayden built a custom work table and garden storage unit to support residents who enjoy tending the raised garden beds. Read more.
