Educational Lunch Educational Lunch

Every three months the boards governing Forefront Living (FL) and the Forefront Living Foundation (FLF), gather for their quarterly board meetings. This quarter the FLF meeting was held in the morning and the FL meeting took place in the afternoon, allowing for the two groups to enjoy lunch and an educational session together in between meetings. On May 2, the Forefront Living Foundation (FLF) hosted its inaugural fundraising dinner benefiting the Music Therapy program at Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH) The elegant evening included special music accompanied by cocktails, dinner and touching stories related to the exceptional music therapy services offered by FPH

The program began with a warm welcome by FLF Executive Director, Diane Fullingim, who greeted more than 35 donors, board members and teammates to the melodic affair. Read more.

Members of the Each Moment Matters Luncheon Host Committee gathered throughout the day on May 17 and 18, to add a personal touch to more than 200 letters being sent by the Forefront Living Foundation to various individuals and businesses in the community. Read more.

Butterflies Released at Spring Memorial Butterflies Released at Spring Memorial

Approximately 200 people joined together at Faith Presbyterian Hospice’s (FPH) T Boone Pickens Hospice Center in the Marnie & Kern Wildenthal Education Center to celebrate those they’ve lost Families attended an indoor memorial service sprinkled with messages of hope, prayer, song and even a few laughs After the service, attendees received a small box containing a butterfly and were encouraged to release it over the picturesque lake on the FPH campus Read more

Faith Presbyterian Hospice offers Support Groups free of charge. These meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and the last Thursday of each month from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Read more.

CAMP BEGINS THIS FRIDAY CAMP BEGINS THIS FRIDAY

At the end of this week, 25 special families will head to Camp Buckner in the Hill Country town of Burnet, Texas, for Camp Erin® DFW 2023! These families (including 41 children), eight Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH) teammates and 17 volunteers will enjoy a magical experience together from June 2-4, 2023. The weekend will be filled with traditional camping activities, as well as therapeutic group sessions, where families can share their grief and participate in healing experiences after suffering the loss of a loved one.

To help build a sense of community prior to bunking up at camp, FPH hosted an in-person “Save Your Spot” event on the evening of May 18. At this event, participating families met each other, camp staff and volunteers and had an opportunity to ask questions about what to expect at camp. Read more.

UNDERSTANDING GRIEF SERIES CONTINUES

Faithful Friends gathered on the evening of Thursday, April 27, at the Marnie and Kern Wildenthal Education Center, to participate in a three-part educational speaker series entitled, “Understanding Grief for All Ages.”

The next Faithful Friends meeting on the topic of “Understanding Adult Grief,” is scheduled for July 27. The series will conclude in October with “Understanding Child Grief.” Read more.

VIPS HEAR FROM EXPERT

On May 23, the marketing teams for The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) and Presbyterian Village North (PVN) jointly planned and hosted an informational session entitled “Finding Your Path Forward” with featured speaker Brad Breeding, Certified Financial Planner and Senior Living Expert Both presentations took place at Forefront Living’s Dallas office where attendees included prospective OAW and PVN residents in the morning session and OAW VIPs in the afternoon session Read more.

COTTAGE PROGRESS

Earlier this month, The Outlook at Windhaven Cottage VIPs gathered at the Plano Information Center to hear about exciting Cottage construction updates. VIPs enjoyed an afternoon of wine and cheese while learning about the latest move-in timeline and construction progress being made on their future homes. More information will be available as move-in dates approach!
