In the philosophy of the Foppapedretti project, the house is not a finite dwelling concept, but a continuous dynamic evolution of the functions contained within it. The housing unit, which in large urban centres contains essential spaces, is liveable only if living areas are planned functionally and simply, but at the same time elegantly and pleasantly. Relaxation and chores combine with furnishings that appear and disappear. Since space is essential and the standard of living improves only if the levels of quality, in addition to being high because of the materials used, it is affected by design on a human scale. The environment is respected with water based varnishes and atoxic materials. Product design takes into account safety of use and ergonomics. The house becomes more usable, more substantial without diminishing the design; it becomes the favourite place after a long day of work, study or‌ shopping.

FOPPAPEDRETTI, THE COMPANY The company wase established in 1945 in Telgate (BG), by two brothers with a passion for hand carved wooden toys: Ezio and Tito Foppa Pedretti. In the ’50s, production was supplemented by nursery furniture: the first highchairs, cots and school desks were conceived. In the ’60s, elegant garden furniture was added. In the ’80s, a successful range of household items appeared, making a name for the company in the domestic market. A leader in manufacturing in wood, the headquarters are in Grumello del Monte, near Bergamo with 30,550 square meters of offices, factory and warehouse: the heart of the company where the best ideas and winning projects were conceived, always confirmed by immense market success.
FOPPAPEDRETTI TECHNOLOGY Foppapedretti Technology, a company that works and transforms solid wood into finished products, was conceived to expand production capacity and improve quality. It uses the latest technologies and has been planned to give the best possible operating conditions for workers. A further expansion of over 12,000 square metres has been planned to incorporate warehouses and expand the final stages of production (assembly and quality control departments).

COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT FOPPAPEDRETTI commitment to the environment WOOD, NATURALLY ECO-FRIENDLY. Wood is a living material. Wood has a long and fascinating life cycle. We feel a great respect for wood. We source wood from certified geographical areas and from woods whose reforestation is verified by detailed local regulations and checked by forestry bodies. The trees we use are thus continually replaced. Wood lasts longer than a lifetime. Long lasting and hard wearing, wood will be with you for a lifetime and beyond. It never wears out and its beauty grows as time passes. Wood is Man’s friend. Man has always needed wood to live, to build his home, his furniture, his implements and to warm himself. Until 150 years ago wood was practically the only renewable source of energy used by Man. Wood is 100% recyclable and environmentally friendly. With wood, nothing is thrown away. Even manufacturing waste is used by industry in many ways. Wood is an environmentally friendly fuel since, when it burns, it releases an amount of carbon dioxide equal to that absorbed when it was a living plant.

BIOFOREST BIOFOREST is an association that promotes a production culture that is more sensitive to the environment and contributes in a concrete way to the restoration and preservation of natural resources. BIOFOREST is a not for profit, non partisan, non denominational social organisation born from the will of a group of industries and small entrepreneurs wishing to move towards a new model of development based on a compatibility between industry and the preservation of the environment. The objective of the enterprise is to reduce consumption of energy and raw materials in the production process, the elimination of the use of toxic materials and an adequate development of research and technological innovation directed toward respect of the natural environment. The intention of the Association is, by statute, to gather together those who wish to commit themselves to the regeneration and reconstruction of degraded or destroyed forestry systems, in Italy and the world; to finance reforestation projects, respecting the original natural ecosystems, if necessary through the acquisition of the interested areas; to encourage and sustain scientific research in the areas of intervention using the most up to date technologies; to promote, at all levels and types of educational establishment, in universities and research centres, campaigns of information and awareness of the projects, the various initiatives and events organized by the Association and to involve the media and public opinion through debates, conferences, meetings and other initiatives regarding the activities carried out, emphasising the interconnected nature of environmental questions and the way to a correct and harmonious relationship between man and nature; to promote respect for the fundamental principles of ecology, such as recycling, reduction of consumption of energy and raw materials and the elimination from production processes of toxic substances.

CLOTHES AIRING
Hanging out the washing is an almost daily routine, an indispensable chore for practically everybody, singles or families. Proper hanging out means clothes with fewer creases that are easier to iron, saving time and effort. There is not always space to hang clothes in the open air. That’s why variously-sized clothes-airers appear in modern households. Foppapedretti has always had the edge over its competitors, as it manufactures a range of clothes- airers for all needs, sturdy, with lots of space, solid, indestruct ble and folding, designed for a long life and made with durable materials.

Depending on the model, the modules hold from 8 to 24 pairs of shoes or cleaning products, brooms, laundry, etc. The frames are in laminated chipboard with beech or ash framed doors with plastic fascias. Shoe trays are in a washable and hygienic plastic material. Scarpe & Dintorni allows a variety of compositions of the modules by stacking one on another or placing side by side. This dynamic modularity means that the system fits even the most difficult spaces (under stairs, closets, corners, bathroom or kitchen). The various modules can be personalized as desired. Double-sided panels can be applied to the doors (matching the structure or in grey) or mirrored panels (sold separately). Available colours: natural, walnut, white, wengè.

STEP LADDERS AND STOOLS
The safest way to get to a lampshade, the ceiling or the highest bookshelf, designed by Foppapedretti. Step ladders and stools with non slip steps, safety barriers and much more to help you feel safe at any height But there is more... FOPPAPEDRETTI has also thought of how to move ladders easily. The solution is to have wheels that allow the stepladder to be moved easily and effortlessly when closed. So you are always on top.
