TENDRING LIFE MAGAZINE

Welcome to issue 5 of Tendring Life Magazine
What a few weeks it has been at Tendring Life HQ, with people away on Holiday, the Euros, and the General election, putting this issue together In good time has been a struggle, but we got there eventually…..We now have a new Government and have reelected MP’s and gained a New MP in Clacton, I have to admit there was more noise around Nigel Farage in Clacton than there was on the Election itself, it will be interesting to see what
bearing it has on that part of Tendring District over the next few years.
The Euros have been entertaining if you watch games England were not playing (I Jest) and it has been great to see so many of our local pubs and bars full to busting, supportive of this England team despite their slow start and stumble through the rounds, Fingers crossed we make the final on Sunday 14th July.
through advertising, it is greatly appreciated, I would ask you the reader if you can, when you can, to support the advertisers in your region, I have spoken with many who are passionate about Tendring and the work they do in Tendring District.
Hopefully in the next few weeks, the weather will begin to improve, and many can flock to our beaches on the Essex coast, providing business to our cafes, bars, and restaurants
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the Magazine editorially and All the best Chris & team,

Or maybe you want some inspiration for a specific occasion, or just something a bit different? Well then Gift Box HeRo is here for you!
Now there is nothing wrong with mugs and coasters but they aren’t very interesting or unique are they? That’s why you won’t find any of them in my gift boxes.
What’s available?
I have over 80 boxes already created for a whole variety of occasions, but essentially you can pick any combination of
items from any box (create your own). Just contact me. Items available include both handmade (by myself) and carefully selected items, including from other UK small businesses.
Bespoke Boxes
If you aren’t sure what to choose, I can put together a bespoke box for you. All I need to know from you are the three W’s (Who, Why and When) and I can take care of the rest.
Prices
Boxes can be made up to suit
any price range/budget and are available in two sizes; a mini gift box and a full size one (for bespoke I can select a box to fit). Mini boxes start from around £7.99 and full size boxes from around £13.99 (not including postage).
Website prices include UK mainland delivery (so you can have the box sent direct to the recipient at no extra cost). I also offer discounts for local residents who want to take delivery of boxes themselves, instead of me posting.
ELITE ARCHITECTURAL AWNINGS ARE BASED IN MANNINGTREE.
WE STARTED MANUFACTURING YACHT COVERS AND AWNINGS FOR BLUEWATER CRUISING YACHTS WHEN WE FOUND A NICHE IN THE MARKET FOR CREATING SIMILAR COVERS FOR RESIDENTIAL AND HOSPITALITY VENUES AFTER BEING APPROACHED BY OUR MARINE CLIENTS TO SEE IF THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY.
Using our extensive marine experience, and using the latest CAD form finding software we design, manufacture & install elegant tensile awnings & window panels that blend perfectly with your environment.
Each project varies as we explore different ways to use innovative and highquality durable fabrics to find spectacular solutions for our clients, which range from private family homes –where a usable outside space in all weathers is required
– and the hospitality sector seeking exterior warm dining environments, as well as industrial settings where extra workshop space is required.
With our expertise, we can create innovative awnings & window panels that are bespoke to you.
Experience, knowledge & expertise is the foundation of our company, we do not supply ‘out of the box’ standard awnings & windows – everything we manufacture is unique and is not an off the shelf item.

CHILDREN’S CHARITY BARNARDO’S OPENED ITS NEW PREMISES ON THE HARWICH GATEWAY RETAIL PARK HAVING BEEN ON THE HIGH STREET IN DOVERCOURT FOR MANY A YEAR
The new location offers double the space, extremely impressive is the layout of the store and the quality of goods to purchase, a lot of attention to detail has gone into the store and with over 300 shoppers purchasing items on the opening Friday, with many queuing to get in, the store soon was full upon opening.
The store raises money for children in our surrounding
area who are supported by Barnardo’s.
Donations will continue and are all now being welcomed at the new premises your support of the new store will be most welcome.
Barnados Harwich has 28 that work within the store, and the team has received six new volunteer applications since moving.
We were keen to open a shop in Manningtree high street, local to where we live in Bradfield.
Spending many hours of our spare time in Manningtree Town making friends and getting to know the locals, we noticed how the town was starting to pick up and more little shops were opening up, so here we are, a new offering for everyone who lives and visits our town.
One of the main benefits of vintage clothing is the reduction of textile waste. The resale of vintage prevents tons and tons going to landfill all over the

world. Items are recycled, so there is no new manufacturing of textiles and production. It reduces carbon emissions, preserves water, energy, and other resources.
Reduces manual labour, where employees are subjected to unfair working conditions and minimal pay
Some ‘American vintage is imported, so this will not be quite as environmentally friendly as UK sourced vintage, but still reduces the impact from brand new manufacturing & production. The younger generation are embracing the
American and 80’s vintage clothes.
