The journey will take you past many points of interest including St Osyth with its historic Martello Tower, Great Bentley - which boasts the biggest village green in England and Great Oakley,

FRINTON GOLF CLUB

FRINTON GOLF CLUB WAS FOUNDED IN 1895 AND USED A NINE HOLE DESIGN BY TOM DUNN, ON LAND NOW OCCUPIED BY HOUSES IN SECOND AND THIRD AVENUE

In 1904, twice Open Champion Willie Park Jnr., designed a new 18 hole course on the present site, an area formerly renowned for hare coursing. On the advice of the famous golf course architect Harry S Colt, various improvements were made to the original design that left the layout largely as we know it today.

In recent years, Frinton has been at the forefront of change by being one of the first to embrace total equality of the sexes in its membership, as well as being the first golf club in Essex to achieve England Golf’s prestigious Golf Mark award - thereby demonstrating that Frinton Golf Club is indeed fit for purpose and a club for all ages!

Phoenix Bridge are school friends who have played gigs, weddings, and parties for many years creating a real buzz wherever they play, both are great musicians in their own right, but as a duo they play seamlessly entertaining 100s each month across Tendring District.

CLACTON PRIDE

CLACTON PRIDE FAMILY FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ITS 5TH BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR WITH THEIR 3RD ANNUAL FESTIVAL. THIS YEAR’S EVENT WILL BE HELD ON 29 JUNE.

At greensward, marine parade west from 11am. And what a line up they have this year not only local talent but some great tributes too and not only that but celebrity and lgbtq advocate/ actress and singer Heather Peace will be performing.

Clacton pride is run by volunteers and fundraisers pay to hold the now annual event which is currently the biggest festival in Tendring.

Organiser Cheryl Piper has again stuck to her goal of keeping it for local traders and to promote local musicians. As well as keeping the event free to attend. However she did say please bring pennies with you to spend on our local stalls. There will also be another big raffle this year with amazing prices and donation

buckets as all funds raised on the day goes into making the next festival bigger and better.

We have bars onsite as well as food vendors, sweets, ice-cream, jewellery stalls, craft stalls, rainbow stalls as well as local community group stalls. We also have local groups such as clacton litter pickers, carnival and so many more that help out each year there really is something for everyone The funfair will also be back.

This year the crowd is expected to be a lot bigger than last year with footfall of upto 10k expected.

When asked why this festival started Cheryl replied because its what the people asked for, however I wanted to make it for everyone. Here in Tendring the census shows we all

know someone in the lgbtqia community but they are also the most margalinised group still facing hate even in 2024. We wanted to show that Clacton isn’t what the media make it out to be and to show the lgbtqia community they are loved and welcome and wanted here, that are an integral part of the community. Since taking this one some of the stories we have been told by people here in tendring would make everyone cry. Some members of the community were to scared to go outside, others have been verbally, violently and even sexually assaulted and its time for this to stop. So come and join us and show the community you are an ally. We promise you a great day.

Last year with no advertising we had 6k attendance which is absolutely fantastic.
