1. Have there been times when we shook our heads at the world, looked up to heaven and wondered why God would allow such evil things to continue, saying, “I mean if he’s a holy and just God, shouldn’t he punish the wicked?” Read 2Peter 3:9-13. What is the heart of God? What is the call for his people?
2. In turn, the perfection and holiness that he demands of us seems so high and unreachable that we always seem to fail. Respond to this statement: “the fact that God doesn’t lower his standards is the ultimate vote of confidence that he believes we’ll actually be able to get there with the Spirit’s help.”
3. What is the biggest hindrance to our ability to live out holiness according to 2Peter 1:5-15? How can you as fellow disciples and travellers on this journey toward perfection in the same small group help one another in this area?
