DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. James’ life was changed when he encountered the Risen Christ and believed in Him.
Q: What happened in your life to cause you to believe in Jesus?
2. James affirmed salvation by faith alone in the Jerusalem Council. But in his letter, he challenges believers to consider the type of faith that we have – a dead faith, without any works (James 2:19); or a living faith, active in God’s work (James 2:22).
Q: Do you have a living faith or a dead faith?
3. On the other hand, we need to be constantly reminded that our works cannot save us, only true faith in Jesus Christ can.
Q: Are there any things in your life right now which has taken the place of Jesus on the throne of your life?
Ultimately, we all need the Holy Spirit’s help to have a faith that is living and true.
Pray and ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you and to empower you today.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:13)
