Satan and his Tactics Genesis 3.1- 13
Discussion Questions
Introduction
Satan is our enemy. Matt 13 In 2 parables, Jesus taught what the enemy did.
a. Parable of the Sower v19 “The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message about the Kingdom and don’t understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their hearts.”
b. Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds
V38 The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one. 39a The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil…”
1. Satan Disrupts Genesis 3.1-6
Satan questioned and then placed doubts on God’s word.
a. What does v6 tell us about the woman’s response to the serpent?
b. Share one warning it presents us today.
2. Satan Deceives Gen 3.7-13
When God confronted them, Adam and the woman blamed the other for their sin. A denial of sin and responsibility. Lack of repentance.
Yes Satan had deceived them. But in sin they continued to deceive themselves.
a. How can the practice of spiritual accountability be established in the small group to prevent this deception from taking root?
3. Satan Defeated Genesis 3.14-15
We know that Satan will face final defeat.
a. Is there one area of concern that the small group should be alert to Satan’s continual efforts?
b. In 2 Corinthians 2.11, Apostle Paul urged the church to forgive a disciplined but repentant member to foil Satan’s scheme. What Satan's scheme was Paul referring to? Share instances where a believer may find it difficult to forgive.
