The Vows (Ephesians 5:21-33)
Introduction: The Marriage Vows
The Declaration of Intent
“Will you have this ___ to be your ___, to live together in holy marriage? Will you love __, comfort __, honor and keep __, in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others, be faithful to __ as long as you both shall live?
The Exchange of Vows
I, (___), take you, (____), to be my ___, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow.
The Exchange of Rings (_____), I give you this ring as a sign of my vow, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Why are some unhappy with v24 (Ladies to share)
b. How should v22 be approached in the light of v21 (and other similar instructions eg Heb 13.17; Rom 13.1; 1 Pet 2.18) and God’s design for wives?
2. Love (25-30)
a. (Men to share)
Give one example of how v25, 26 will be can be carried out.
b. Husbands are to build up their wives’ spiritual life. Share examples of how this has been done.
3. Leave (31-33)
a. Refer to the vows made before God at the Wedding. How can the husband and wife remember and not lose sight of them?
b. Pray for all the married persons in the group.
