Be surrounded by kindred spirits

As you journey through life’s wondrous paths, may each step you take be illuminated by the gentle glow of hope and guided by the unwavering light of love. May your days be filled with moments of joy that dance like sunbeams upon your soul, and may your nights be cradled in the embrace of peace, serenity, and sweet dreams. May your heart overflow with gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon you, and may you find solace in the knowledge that you are cherished beyond measure. May every challenge you encounter serve as a stepping stone to greater strength, resilience, and wisdom, and may every triumph you achieve be celebrated with boundless enthusiasm and heartfelt applause. May you be surrounded by kindred spirits who uplift and inspire you, and may you, in turn, be a beacon of light and hope to all whose lives you touch. May your aspirations soar to the highest peaks, and may you have the courage to pursue your dreams with unwavering determination and unwavering faith. In the tapestry of life, may the threads of happiness, fulfillment, and contentment weave seamlessly through the fabric of your existence, creating a masterpiece of love, laughter, and lasting memories. And may the universe conspire in your favor, showering you with blessings beyond your wildest imagination. Remember, dear friend, that you are infinitely deserving of all the goodness that life has to offer. So embrace each day with open arms, embrace each experience with an open heart, and embrace the boundless possibilities that await you on this extraordinary journey called life. With heartfelt wishes for a future filled with abundance, prosperity, and unending happiness,

SYNTHIA ROY We here at “Folio” are no strangers to Synthia Roy and you, the readers, shouldn’t be either as she’s won our contest before as Best Piercer. Let’s give this artist another round of applause. Synthia has earned her reputation as the Best Tattoo Artist, and it’s well-deserved. With a career that began in 1994, her art continues to evolve, making her a standout in the industry.

K.UTIE Passionate about delivering unique harmonies that are true to her, this Jacksonville native continues to break the mold with her bold sense of style and vocal abilities. K.UTIE’s exploration with her sound has locals intrigued which is part of the reason she was voted Best Vocalist.

MAX MICHAELS This year’s Best Personality is a multi-disciplinary artist whose impact is felt beyond his expressive outlets of choice. Michaels is the creator and independent publisher of “MOVEMENT” magazine which he founded in 1992. The seminal publication has spotlighted countless talents in the music and arts scene.

MARCUS CRESPO If a good sense of humor is one of the sexiest traits a man can have, then no wonder Marcus Crespo took home the title of this year’s Sexiest Man. In addition to being a local comedian, he co-hosts “Foolosophy,” a podcast about anything and everything (from fitness to Disney secrets). That’s not to say his comedic charm is the only reason he leaves them swooning.

JEREMY RYAN & K.UTIE Did somebody order a tall glass of water? How about two? It’s no surprise that Jeremy Ryan and the sexiest woman K.UTIE were voted sexiest couple. Not only are they dare we say, sexy, but they also are the creative force behind Bright Purpel. Yes, their music is hot too.

K.UTIE Is it hot in here, or is it just Jacksonville’s sexiest woman K.UTIE? We’ll go with the latter. Not only do the smoke detector batteries need to come out every time she walks into a room, but the stage needs to be cleared and the cameras need to start rolling. That’s right — she’s a model, singer and dancer. Basically, she’s a triple threat, and we’re all just trying to keep up.

BEST LOCAL PUBLISHER It’s quite ironic that a publication didn’t think to add the best local publisher to our curated contest. Maybe it’s because we know that we would win. Or worse, that we would lose.

DONALD TRUMP Building a wall on the borders may seem impossible but escaping the IRS is simply casual. Trump has long cast himself as a master at the art of the deal. Dodging cases was easy work just as it’s been in his eyebrow-raising deductions to suspiciously low tax payments for a billionaire. There’s been critics to argue Trump’s tax strategies highlight loopholes only the wealthy can access. Whether it’s savvy or shady, Trump’s tax saga keeps America watching.

RON DESANTIS They say to start fresh you need to tear down what’s old. Clearly Ron DeSantis can’t tell the difference between what’s rugged and old to what’s needed and necessary to live. Under his watch, regulations protecting wetlands and waterways have been dismantled completely. Much like his political career Florida’s waters have been unchecked development and pollution. DeSantis claims to be a conservationist but his policies reveal a legacy of environmental neglect that threatens the Sunshine State’s future.

Is there anything better than sipping a frozen cocktail after a long day at the beach? Absolutely not. Lemon Bar holds the crown as Jacksonville’s quintessential beach bar—mainly because it’s literally on the beach. The vibes? Always spot on, thanks to the friendly bartenders and live music. Here’s to hoping Shad Khan doesn’t get any ideas and ruin this gem like, well, other things (just kidding… kind of. Fire Trent Baalke).

PETE’S BAR Oh, the joy this brings me to write. Jacksonville voting Pete’s Bar as the best Dive Bar? Obviously. I mean, come on. Was it even a contest? Absolutely not: It was a full-blown landslide. Let’s break it down: Pete’s boasts not one, not two, but four bars, a surplus of pool tables, a smoking section and TouchTunes. You’re telling me I can chain-smoke drunk cigs while blasting Ke$ha’s “Your Love Is My Drug” for a mere $5 queue skip? Say less. Honestly, it’s safe to say I’m single-handedly keeping the lights on in this joint.

CAROLINA JAX Flavorful delight isn’t an even good enough phrase for how good the fries are. Whether you’re munching on them or pairing them with a cold drink, Carolina Jax’s fries never disappoint. If a single one falls out of your hand and plummets to the ground, you might just dive for it. Yes. They are that good.

HARD PRESSED BURGERS When you’re hungry, you don’t want to have to think about where to go. Hard Pressed Burgers is where you go when you want to taste bold flavors and creative toppings. For any foodie curious about taking a bite, make sure to ask for the spicy jalapeno aioli or even better the indulgent truffle cheese. What’s an experience without good quality food? At Hard Pressed, every meal is a celebration of flavor.

IGUANA ON PARK Having a long week and it’s only Monday? We see a margarita in your future. Stop by Iguana on Park from 6:30-8 p.m. and celebrate Margarita Monday with $4 off all house margaritas and join in on cash pot bingo.

THE BEARDED PIG When it comes to delicious meals, having a smoky brisket and tender ribs can never leave you in a bad mood. The Bearded Pig is where you go for good old fashioned Southern comfort food. Its taste in food and good quality beer can’t be topped. Where else can you eat ribs and get your drink on?
