The Official Bulletin of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Grand Aerie

Congratulations Carl & Althea!

Grand Worthy President Carl Burnett and Grand Madam President Althea Lane were formally installed during the Installation of Officers, Thursday, July 12, at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas. OVER THE SUMMER, Eagles from all over the United States and Canada arrived to the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas, for the biggest Eagles celebration of the year - the 2018 International Convention. The week was once again filled with countless charitable efforts, a great slate of entertainment, valuable learning, organizational change and the installation of new officers including your new Grand Worthy President Carl Burnett and Grand Madam President Althea Lane. Charity lies at the center of all Eagle activities and this Convention was no different, with more than $450,000 in grants awarded and a whopping $23,398.50 raised through a variety of 50/50 drawings. Check presentations included $274,715.49 raised for GWP Tom McGrath’s charity Bridge to the Cure during his year in office, $99,611.00 for GMP Helen Poehner’s project, Honor

Flight Tri-State and $36,587.80 for Poehner's FOE charity for Alzheimer's research. Registered attendees filled classrooms inside the Omni Hotel to learn more about the duties of Presidents and Trustees, recruiting new members, applying for grants, operating the Member Management System, publicizing their efforts, running a fiscally sound Aerie and more. They were also treated to the unique abilities of future generations of Eagles through the God, Flag & Country Competition and the annual Eagles Talent Show. The Grand Aerie would like to thank all who attended this year’s festivities. Convention is the centerpiece of the Eagles year and we encourage all who are interested to consider joining us July 8-11, 2019 as we venture to Louisville, Kentucky for another incredible Summer!

Operation Eagle A Proud FOE Tradition

Since the founding of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1898, our organization has proudly supported our armed forces as they risk their lives to protect our freedoms. Each year, we show our gratitude through Operation Eagle, sending care packages to active duty service personnel during the holiday season including food, toiletries, first aid items, games, books, movies and more totaling over $10,000 annually. Join us in supporting this great cause by making a donation to Operation Eagle or by nominating an active duty soldier to receive care packages this winter.
