Describe your role in one sentence. As the business owner I need to be a multi tasker; I have many different hats, from accounts, to stock orders and of course, florist. What are your tips for balancing work/ life and hobbies? Having good organisational skills and always using them. Planning ahead, prioritising and getting into a manageable routine. Accept help when needed from family and friends. I am so lucky to have the best family who offer lots of help with my two little ones. Taking time to spend with your family. Kids grow up so quickly - their time is so precious. What are you most proud of in your role? I am most proud that for the last 14 years I have been able to maintain, develop, modernise and continue running a successful business that was founded over 40 years ago in Port Macquarie.
That, I can manage to still spend quality time with my family and have some ME TIME in running the Bonny Hills Physical Culture Club with my mum, Ann, which gives me great pleasure. Winning five awards in the last three years has also been a huge achievement. Who and what are the biggest influences in your business and personal life? There are so many people who have influenced, inspired and helped shape the person I am today. My parents, who have brought me up to believe in myself and encourage me to do and be the best I can. Marilyn, my ex business partner and friend, who has taught me so much in all aspects of floristry and life. Plus, a number of like-minded business women who share the juggle of running a business while being a mother and wife. It is comforting to know that it IS possible when it all seems impossible.
