SOL COLLECTIVE YOGA H AU S O F C L AY Sharing their love of ceramics, Jess & Holly have teamed up to bring the joy of clay play to the Coffs Coast. Our studio is situated in the heart of Coffs Harbour City Centre in the Park Ave Laneway and we welcome all ages and abilities from complete beginners to the more experienced potter. Come and try out one of our fun Clay & Sip workshops on a Thursday night or Sunday
afternoon. Join us for a 4 week course in either hand building or wheel throwing. We have courses running during the day and evening. For the kids we also run after school programs and school holiday workshops. Haus of Clay is the perfect place to hold your private event, whether it be a hens, birthday, work function or just a get together with your group of mates.

H O L L Y Holly Adamson opened Haus of Clay in Coffs Harbour’s Park Avenue Lane with her friend Jess Miller (of The Art Dept.) after the success of her pottery classes showed a demand for a venue of this kind in our area. The girls are a powerhouse of creativity and passion and we are loving it!

i Holly. When did you first fall in love with ceramics? I’ve had an interest in ceramics since I was a teenager and inherited some pieces my grandmother made, but it wasn’t until about 2 years ago that I took my first ceramics course and fell in love with it straight away. Actually I became obsessed and sold my current business so I could do ceramics full time. What do you enjoy about working with clay? I love that I am using my hands and working with the earth. I find it really therapeutic, calming, and a bit of a stress reliever. It has really taught me to slow down and enjoy the process rather than the normal rush that goes with everyday life as a busy mum. 56 COFFS COAST

We get people from all walks of life, from 5 year olds up to 95 year olds. Total beginners, to the more advanced and people that just want to give it a go or have some fun with their friends, partner, parents, kids etc. We also work with NDIS recipients and various community groups. Working with people from all different backgrounds definitely makes this work more enjoyable. What sort of ability do you need to have to join a workshop? You don’t need to have any special abilities, we can teach you the basics and get you started. We welcome complete beginners as well as people that have had some experience. What sort of response have you had from people so far about the space and the events? We have had an amazing response to
our space and events. So many people comment on what a great space it is, great location and how much fun they have getting muddy with us. What do you enjoy most about hosting and teaching people at Haus Of Clay? I love seeing people get creative, even the ones that say they are not creative at all. Everyone comes away with something that they have made themselves and it brings so much joy to people. Providing a space for connection through creativity is also special, whether that’s meeting new people in our classes or providing a space for friends to spend quality time together. What would you hope people take away from their time at the studio? We always hope people will have enjoyed the experience, whether it’s the social aspect or the meditative “flow” that comes from working with clay. And of course, we want people to walk away with a ceramic piece they will treasure!
