Transform spaces with endless possibilities of colours and materials

The power of colours and materials

Colours and materials are crucial for making an impact. We offer a wide range of options to meet different preferences and design needs. Our luminaires come in an array of standard colours for indoor and outdoor use, and thanks to our flexible manufacturing process, we can apply any desired colour. Additionally, we have elegant brass and copper luminaires that develop a beautiful patina over time.
For a raw and industrial look, we have our galvanized, Raw untreated and Raw anodized surfaces that display the metal’s texture and variations. Unlock a world of possibilities in colours and materials!

Raw

We use anodization to make our luminaires look stunning, last longer and be more sustainable.
Our Raw anodized luminaires have a beautiful bronze-like finish that varies slightly in each piece, creating a unique and charming look. Anodization also makes the aluminum more resistant to harsh environments, so our luminaires last longer.
Anodization is a low-energy process that thickens the oxide layer on aluminum, making it more recyclable and reducing CO2 emissions compared to other coating methods. Therefore, our Raw anodized luminaires offer beauty, durability and sustainability in one.

Raw untreated

Our Raw untreated surfaces have a timeless raw beauty that suits many purposes. They have character without being dominant. They patinate beautifully and have a lively surface, are durable and practical, because they develop a natural oxide layer that gives a matte and tactile appearance.
Raw untreated surfaces reduce the environmental impact because they do not undergo a treatment process. Which also means that the material can be reused or recycled without losing its properties. Beautiful, smart and functional.

Corrosion protection for long lasting, sustainable outdoor luminaires

We test severely for top performance and reliability
Focus Lighting is committed to providing high quality and durable outdoor luminaires that offer maximum corrosion protection. This means our products can withstand even the harshest environments, such as coastal areas. We achieve this by using top-quality aluminum with low copper content, a meticulous surface protection, and extensive testing in our own facilities and third-party laboratories.
Our sustainable approach extends the lifetime of our luminaires, reduces the need for replacements, and supports circular economy principles by allowing reusability of components.

Sky
Design: AART Designers

Sky combines a minimalist and timeless design with a modernist interpretation of the conical shape. The name Sky reflects the vision of creating a subtle and almost invisible light from above, as the light source is hidden in the base of the luminaire and reflected by the arched roof in the top. The indirect light is diffused in a soft, pleasant non-glaring way.

+ Pleasant light due to indirect lighting
+ Low and High lumen, from 275 to 6600 lm

Space
Design: AART Designers

Space’s elegant design features sheer circular shapes that create a pleasant light effect. In addition, the luminaire combines direct, indirect and shielded light to spread the light evenly and avoid glare. Furthermore, Space with asymmetrical light distribution is an innovative solution that maintains the harmony and the perception of a round luminaire. As a result, Space is fully illuminated both with symmetrical and asymmetrical light distribution.

+ Unique combination of direct, reflected, and shaded lighting
+ Various light distributions with unique uniformity
+ Low and High lumen, from 275 to 6600 lm
+ 2200, 2700, 3000, 4000 K, CRI 80 or 90
+ Easy integration of Smart City solutions
+ Elegant on high and low poles, 3-6 meter
Space is designed with symmetrical or asymmetrical light, and the two variants look nearly identical – both with and without light turned on.
The Space design is simple and powerful with circular forms and rings that expand light into the whole luminaire, underlining the circular form.
Space asymmetric features a unique design that gives the visual impression of a circular lit luminaire, while having an asymmetrical light distribution.
Comfortable efficiency
by Morten Hove Lasthein, AART Designers
With the SPACE luminaire we attempted to take the LED technology a step further by expanding the small lighting point to a large and more comfortable lighting area. This was achieved by combining direct, indirect, and diffused light.
SPACE – new luminaire
AART Designers have developed a number of exterior park and street lighting luminaires for Focus Lighting. Different luminaires with their own field of function – from parks and squares to local roads and highways. One common point, however, is high standards in respect to lighting quality, sustainability, and design.
The latest product in the row is SPACE, which should meet a growing demand for an efficient, somewhat voluminous, round park luminaire with an appealing visual appearance. A luminaire to bridge the span between low and high poles, ie. light point heights from three to six meters.
Lighting quality and comfort
A decisive factor in lighting design is the lighting quality, which is highly influenced by the lighting distribution. Focus is often on a uniform distribution of light on the ground or other surfaces.
In general, you could say that the closer the luminaire is to the ground and consequently the line of sight, the more attention should be allocated to lighting comfort. The perceived discomfort glare can be a challenge in many ways. Apart from being unpleasant to perceive, discomfort glare can be very dangerous in traffic.
Thus it is highly relevant to look at this issue; an issue which has been not less intensified by the LED technology.
New lighting principle
The strong force of LEDs compared with previous light sources, is particularly their low energy consumption.
As is often the case when turning to new technology, there are new challenges to handle, and in the case of LED, discomfort glare is one of them. LEDs are extremely bright due to their small size and powerful light. A really hard contrast on the eye. To control and tame LEDs in order to make them less glaring can be a difficult but nevertheless essential and consequently rather exiting challenge to handle.
Considering many demands, parameters, and ambitions, we decided to develop a completely new lighting principle for SPACE. We attempted to take the LED technology a step further and challenge the glare issue, among others. Our target was to expand the small lighting point to a large and more comfortable lighting area by combining direct, indirect, and diffused light.
Design Expression
The solution is a design expression consisting of a number of more or less illuminated rings and circular elements, which interact to broaden out the light. An interrelated constellation with an elegant and dynamic expression of several layers and experiences – both during day and night. And everything encapsulated in a minimalistic, precise and harmonious main shape.
Classic and contemporary
A main shape that will be recognised in well-known historic references along with adding new aspects pointing forward. If you step backwards or see the luminaire from a distance, it will fit quietly and naturally into both classic and modern environments. The primary function of the luminaire being to illuminate the surroundings, without necessarily attracting attention to itself, this is an important parameter. For the same reason the design will allow many repetitions after each other, as for instance along streets and roads.
Flexibility via form
Furthermore, the main form is shaped due to the size of the luminaire. We attempted to make a design suitable for a relatively large span of pole heights, without it being perceived too big on low poles or too small on high poles. Due to the horizontal, lens-like main shape, the luminaire will look slim and light on low poles where the angle of sight is low. On high poles the luminaire will appear rather circular and more voluminous because of the open angle of sight. This results in a large degree of flexibility also in complex lighting projects requiring the same design expression. Moreover, the fact that one single luminaire has such a wide span makes it highly sustainable in the simplified and optimised production, procurement, and operation processes.
One design
The ability to keep the same design expression in lighting projects is supported by the possibility of selecting different lumen packages, i.e. the lighting power of the luminaire. You can use the same luminaire and design even with various demands for lighting power in the same project. The same applies to the design of the recent SPACE variants with asymmetrical light. They are nearly identical to the original SPACE with symmetrical light. This has been an important part of reaching the goal of a strong design identity across functions and demands.
Vision
All in all a vision to develop illumination of high quality and comfort, supporting and enriching human life and activity, as well as contributing to safe traffic and creating attractive and comfortable city spaces – hence the name SPACE.
Way
Design: AART Designers

Inspired by the larger Nordic cities, where classic, dense city centers coexist with modern, spacious road networks and historical and contemporary buildings. Way adapts to the different contexts and needs of the urban spaces, and combines a modern lightness and a classic weight in its design. The screen’s matte edge creates a glowing effect, which is a unique characteristic of Way. The luminous ring shields from glare, creates ambience and shows the way for traffic and pedestrians.
