ETM elevates Tyler Mathews to president

Urban Investments Group paid $2.55 million for the six-story building Downtown.

NAI Hallmark announced Nov. 30 it represented the seller in the sale of the 300 W. Adams St. building Downtown to a buyer that intends to develop a residential tower on the parking lot. Urban Investments Group LLC of Jacksonville bought the property Nov. 18 for $2.55 million. Hildebrandt Owner LLC sold the property to 300 Adams Street LLC, with an address in Daytona Beach. Urban Properties Management Group LLC is the registered agent. U.S. Century Bank of Miami financed the deal with a $2 million mortgage. Urban Investments Group Manager Dror Zanani said the group has a $1 million budget for interior improvements. “We also intend to develop and convert the parking lot adjacent to the building into a residential tower,” he said in the news release. “With Downtown Jacksonville growing and evolving, it’s the perfect time to revitalize 300 SEE MATHIS, PAGE 2

Urban Investments Group says it wants to build a residential tower in the parking lot adjacent to the 300 W. Adams St. building.

The England-Thims & Miller Inc. board of directors announced leadership changes that took effect Dec. 1, including the promotion of Tyler Mathews to president. Mathews, 31, succeeds his father, Hugh Mathews, who remains as CEO. Tyler Mathews most recently was leader of the ETM land d eve l o p m e n t team. Brad Weeber was promoted to executive vice president Tyler Mathews of land development and Drew Holley is vice president of land development. Also, eight new shareholders were added to bring the firm to 33 shareholders. ETM is a Jacksonville-based infrastructure and development construction consulting company founded in 1977 by Jim England, Bob Thims and Doug Miller. Tyler Mathews is the company’s fourth president. Hugh Mathews and founders Miller and England also served as president. Miller remains with the company as chief strategy officer. The company has done work for Nocatee, Wildlight, Seven Pines, Silverleaf, St. Johns Town Center and several state Department of Transportation projects including Florida 9B. It also is working with JEA’s septic tank removal initiative, the Jacksonville Jaguars Sports Performance Center, Baptist Health Jacksonville and UF Health Ocala. SEE ETM, PAGE 2

Preston Haskell helping Casket Factory renovation Preston Haskell, founder of the Jacksonville-based global architecture, engineering and construction firm Haskell Co., pledged $400,000 to establish the Haskell Archive at the Casket Factory at 318 Palmetto St. near the Downtown Sports Complex. The gift will support renovation of the second floor of the three-story structure, built in 1920 next to the former St. Luke’s Hospital that is now the Jacksonville Historical Society offices. “This is an extraordinary event in the life of this organization, and indeed in the work of public history in this city,” said Alan Bliss, CEO of the society, in a news release.
