The 7,500-square-foot restaurant is at 10209 River Coast Drive in the former Mimi’s Café space. “We look forward to bringing our south of the ordinary twist to Jacksonville, offering relaxing suppers and slow brunching,” said Ida Claire CEO Steve Shlemon. “From business breakfasts to late night happy hours, our eclectic and warm atmosphere makes Ida Claire a great gathering spot,” he said. “We think Ida Claire will feel like your home away from home.” It’s the chain’s third location and its first in Florida. The others are in Addison, Texas, north of Dallas and San Antonio. SEE IDA CLAIRE, PAGE 2
As it reaches 20 years in operation, Jacksonville Spine & Pain Centers appears to be expanding with another location. Viper Ventures LLC, a group of doctors from Jacksonville Spine & Pain Centers, purchased a 9.68acre property at northeast Butler and Kernan boulevards for $2.35 million. Site plans show a proposed three-story, 54,000-square-foot building on the property. Plans include a 280-space parking lot. Build-out for stem cell manufacturing United Therapeutics received a building permit Tuesday for a $9.5 million build-out of its cell therapy facility on the second floor of Mayo Clinic’s Discovery and Innovation Building. The 21,843-square-foot space will house an automated stem cell manufacturing site, one of the first of its kind in the country. The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. is the project contractor. The technology will produce cells from the bone marrow of a stem cell donor in large enough quantities to be used as treatments in clinical trials. It also allows for the treatment of multiple patients at the same time.
