Plans for a Bentley Motors dealership near Interstate 95 and Butler Boulevard took a big step forward Thursday. The Jacksonville Planning Commission recommended approval of rezoning 9.02 acres on Bonneval Road for the
Shipping giant expanding its Westside hub.
In other action, the planning commission approved zoning exceptions for: n Springfield United, a proposed restaurant at 1401 N. Main St. to serve beer and wine inside and outside the building. UPS to install its $77.5M conveyors
United Parcel Service is preparing to install the bulk of the conveyors in its Westside Industrial Park plant at a cost of $77.5 million. The Atlanta-based package delivery company, which is working on a $196 million expansion of the Westside hub, applied to the city to install conveyors in its parcel shipping ground hub at 4420 Imeson Road. Incentives legislation approved by the city in November 2016 specified that the $196 million expansion would include $150 million in equipment, furniture and fixtures. The pending permit shows that the $77.5 million project is the first phase. Material Handling Systems Inc. of Louisville, Kentucky, is the contractor. In November 2016, UPS said the Imeson Road facility would be expanded and retrofitted by fall 2019 with advanced technology and operations automation. UPS said the Jacksonville facility will include the company’s latest sorting and processing technology with advanced auto-

Skinners sell Gate Parkway land for $8.96 million An Ash Properties-related entity paid $8.96 million to the Skinner family for 15.4 acres at northwest Gate Parkway and Burnt Mill Road to develop office, retail and storage space. The property was rezoned for the mixed uses, including a fire station. The city said it has a purchase-and-sale agreement for that part of the property.
