St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church submitted plans to the city for its Beach Bou-

levard campus. The church applied for permits totaling a job cost of $8.4 million for a worship center, banquet hall and education building at 12760 Beach Blvd., east of Kernan Boulevard. Sauer Inc. is the contractor and Kasper Architects & Associates is the architect. In its Aug. 1 project update online at stjohnthedivinejax.org,

the church says it is in contract negotiations to sell its existing property at 3850 Atlantic Blvd. at an offer of $1.3 million. The new campus includes a Byzantine crucifix-form sanctuary for worship services, an administrative-education building and a banquet hall to include an airnasium – a covered outdoor gymnasium – and grassed area for sporting and outdoor events,

including the Greek Festival and its Easter Picnic. Construction is expected to start by the end of November with completion in about a year. The permits show it will encompass 5 acres. St. John the Divine estimates the cost of the campus at $13 million. It is raising the money from SEE ST. JOHNS, PAGE 2

Hillwood continues preparations to build a 1.5 millionsquare-foot warehouse at AllianceFlorida at Cecil Commerce Center. Engineering consultant Prosser

Inc. submitted revised plans to the city for early clearing for the warehouse at 13483 103rd St., which is on Tatsch Parcels A2 and B next to the Amazon.com fulfillment center. “We prepared and filed for the permits to position the land for quicker delivery,” said Hillwood Senior Vice President Dan Tatsch.

Dallas-based Hillwood, the master developer at Cecil Commerce Center, also is working toward a 1.5 million-square-foot warehouse on Parcels H and I. Tatsch said he had no comment about speculation regarding prospective tenants. Wayfair Inc. and Lowe’s Companies Inc. are speculated as prospects and Wayfair has been posting Jacksonville jobs for a large parcel home delivery operation.

A Wayfair spokeswoman said Thursday the company has no comment. A Lowe’s spokesman said previously the company always is evaluating possible locations but did not have any information to share about Northeast Florida. KMATHIS@ JAXDAILYRECORD.COM @MATHISKB (904)356-246

Another warehouse planned for Imeson

Developer to build 478,000-square-foot speculative building. Imeson International Industrial Park Inc. is adding another speculative warehouse, and this one is larger than the one under development nearby. The Orlando-based developer advised the city that it intends to build a 478,000-square-foot speculative industrial building at its North Jacksonville center. Imeson President Dan Webb said he expects to start construction in the second quarter. He declined to provide an investment cost or the status of tenants or prospects. The project is planned on 30.7 acres at 250 Busch Drive E., at southwest Busch Drive and Yeager Road. That’s at the north end of the industrial park, which is at northeast Main Street and Zoo Parkway. Zoo Parkway is Heckscher Drive. Mayo wins permit for addition The city approved a permit for Mayo Clinic’s $50 million addition to its Mayo South Building at 4500 San Pablo Road S. Robins & Morton LLC of Orlando will construct the four-story, 80,000-squarefoot addition above the existing single-story building. The project includes the renovation of the first floor. Completion is expected in 2019. The space will be used for cardiovascular, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery program areas, spine center and pain rehabilitation programs, surgical rooms, labs and more.
