Developers broke ground Tuesday on the start of what could become 1,000 luxury apartments near historic San Marco. Chance Partners LLC will begin its Philips Highway project with San Marco Promenade, a 284-unit complex among three four-story buildings on the north

Jeffrey Rosen, a principal partner with Chance Partners, said he considers the project as a catalyst to spark more growth and renovations along Philips Highway. “I live nearby so I hope to see an impact in the neighborhood that we care so much

THE MATHIS REPORT

Wayfair seeking more leadership positions for Jacksonville

KAREN BRUNE MATHIS EDITOR

Wayfair Inc. is posting more job openings for what appears to be the Jacksonville launch of what it calls a Large Parcel Home Delivery Operation. Having posted a job in late August for a “Launch Lead,” the Boston-based online home furnishings retailer listed openings Sept. 7 for a “Launch Supervisor” and a “Launch Specialist” for sites that include Jacksonville. No salaries were listed. The

postings on indeed.com link to the Wayfair site for those wanting to apply. “Wayfair is investing heavily to create the first-ever national large parcel supply chain all the way to the consumer’s home,” say the postings. Wayfair provides a selection of more than 10 million items among home furnishings, décor, home improvement, housewares and more categories.

The launch specialist for the large parcel home delivery operations “will play a key role in this strategic initiative, helping to develop and run a network of best-in-class asset-based final mile sites within the US and Canada.” Responsibilities include developing and training an administrative team in a launch environment and the role to “directly influence a team of site leaders,

warehouse staff and Home Delivery Concierges during a new building launch.” The launch supervisor will “create a culture of safety and productivity at a new site launch.” Responsibilities include training and providing “consistent structure to the office staff in a launch and support environment.” SEE MATHIS, PAGE 2

Southside Assembly of God buys site for new sanctuary Southside Assembly of God, which sold its San Marco area property in March for development of San Marco Crossing, intends to build a 24,000-square-foot, 450-seat sanctuary on about 5.1 acres it bought Aug. 8 for $1.45 million at 6851 Southpoint Parkway. Pastor Milton Dykes said construction starts in November and the church will remain in San Marco through June.
