Kathy Godwin saw a market and exercised her abilities to serve it. Kathy’s Table specializes in home delivery of health-based prepared meals. She expanded from a small home startup about four years ago to a site along Beaver Street, ending up with a food operation along Philips Highway and an expansion to Jacksonville Beach. She expects to reach $2 million in revenue for 2018. Godwin is a former personal trainer, yoga instructor and general gym rat who realized Kathy Godwin protein-based foods were in high demand. She decided to offer gourmet prepared meals. “When most people think of meal prep, they think of bland food and not much flavor and eating for these bodybuilder guys,” Godwin said. “Our food is all gluten-free, dairyfree. There’s no soy and there’s no refined sugar,” she said. While that selection is good for workout types, Godwin said she also caters to customers who might have food allergy concerns. Most meals range from $7 to $9. Customers can order through Kathy’s Table website, kathystable.com. The website allows customers to choose from about 20 gourmet menu items which change every two weeks,

It issued the permit June 13 for the $7.5 million construction of the 136,068-square-foot Home Depot at 230 Durbin Pavilion Drive. The Pavilion is within the 1,600-acre Durbin Park at Interstate 95 and Florida 9B at Race Track Road. Almost 20 retailers and restaurants, including Walmart, are signed. The Walmart permit was issued in January for the almost 201,000-square-foot store at a construction cost of $12 million at 845 Durbin Pavilion Drive. It should open in November. Also in development at the Pavilion are Chase Bank; four more retail pads totaling 38,000 square feet to include a 4,000-square-foot Keke’s

Another chapter in judge battle An appeals court in Tallahassee on Monday cleared the path for Gov. Rick Scott to appoint a replacement for a Nassau County judge. The 1st District Court of Appeal issued an order granting a motion from the governor’s office for review of a 2nd Judicial Circuit judge’s order vacating an automatic stay put in place by Florida Rule of Appellate Procedure. The trial court’s order vacating the stay would have prohibited Scott from appointing a replacement for 4th Circuit Judge Robert Foster. More at JaxDailyRecord.com
